Morning !
So sorry to hear your sad news Laska
Lovely to see you back on the thread.

Got up at 8 to a text from Ikea to say my order would arrive between 9 and 10 .
It arrived at 9.03.
So lie in plus no hovering by the door waiting for my delivery.
Can anyone Lonely or Cag guess what I ordered ?Grin
Aaah if only they delivered meatballs.
Sneaky hope you are feeling better -those cold and flu caps do the trick I find.

Happier your name says it all !
Hope your IP is sorted #team wavering.

em I always felt jealous of people who find out they were 3/4months with no symptoms as I was heaving before I had even done a pointlesspregnancy test .
It carried on until 20ish weeks Xmas Envy

Eeeek excited for Strictly -cant believe its nearly over 😭

ememem84 · 08/12/2018 11:03

quite if I’m honest I think maybe I was in denial....head firmly buried in the sand.

Oh em Flowers
I get it -totally .

Bornlazy · 08/12/2018 11:56

Lovely news em congratulations!

Laska I’m sorry to hear about your mum - sounds like you’ve had a tough time recently Flowers

I had my last Christmas night out yesterday (I’ve had three in the past 8 days 😮) so I’m a bit knackered today. Only spent £20 which was much less than I’d thought. Still managed to drink enough for a hangover though unfortunately.

We finally got a new carpet for the stairs and it makes such a difference wish we’d done it years ago. There are so many jobs that need to be done in this house that I’ve been putting off in case we remodel so I’m so pleased to have sorted one thing. I think after Christmas we might just do the rest as we’re stuck in limbo and it’s totally depressing.

Autumn I agree it’s lovely for someone to fix a problem, to take the onus off of you. I struggle to ask for people’s help as it makes me feel vulnerable. I much prefer to be the person doing the fixing, but I think I’m going to try and change.... Realising that it’s not weak to ask for help (in fact quite the opposite) is a revelation to me.

Happy Birthday Cag for yesterday.

Thatsnotmybaby · 08/12/2018 12:12

Happy belated Birthday @Cagliostro
Congratulations @ememem84.
So sorry to read your sad news @Laska2Meryls Thanks.

Spends yesterday:
£15 supermarket
£169 Christmas shopping; all items I wanted to browse in actual shops to find and I'm pleased with what I bought, so delighted to have that out of the way.

Wolfcub · 08/12/2018 12:23

Unescorted you need a dirty bacon sandwich

North well done to dd that’s fabulous. On the mince pie front I’d avoid hairy biker orange pastry if that’s on your list to try as it gets tough. My favourite is to put two tiny cubes of marzipan in the middle of the mincemeat in each before baking

Wolfcub · 08/12/2018 12:26

Em I am pretty sure there is another pregnant frugaleer at the moment with a small dc already, I think a relatively recent joiner or name changer. I’m so sorry if you’re reading this and I can’t remember your posting name

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/12/2018 12:27

Pop by any time laksa. You were spotted on the Hush threads.

AutumnLeaves12 · 08/12/2018 12:41

Born That's a good point. I must get better at handing things over to people who know how to do them.

I did a good job of that this morning. Dh took ds to his music lesson and I stayed home. It went fine.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 08/12/2018 13:30

I've made £15 selling dds old riding body protector so pleased with that.

Got my niece here and she playing nicely with dd, they are so cute together.

em I was totally in denial that I could be pregnant with dd, waited ages to take a test and nearly passed out with the shock when it was positive! !

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 08/12/2018 13:47

Afternoon all.
Just stopped for a breather. Have been writing up my last bit of work for my course.

North congratulations to your DD, you must be so proud.
Quite, it's always good when you don't have to be waiting in all day for parcels.
Thats, sounds like a good haul. My plan for tonight is to double check what we have for the DCs stockings, wrap some presents and go out tomorrow to get the rest, leaving the DCs at home with DP.

Right, back to studying!

LonelyOversharer · 08/12/2018 13:54

Have been and done shopping. £55.38 in Morrisons, needed a £55 shop, thats all the qualifying shops done, back to lidl next week! But my £35 vouchers will be treats for center parcs. £16 in the craft shop on a new (ds dismantled my old one) i-cord maker, for camels legs. £19 in debenhams on decorations. I have a very pink penguin. £13 of that was top cash back voucher.

Dropped dd1 at her boyfriends. He was the only one in HmmHmm she is under instructions to 1.not get caught misbehaving. 2. Come home with any hickies, and 3.not get pregnant!!!

Steve is out of the loft, so I had better make a space for him.

I waited until I'd missed 2 periods before testing with ds and dd2 (the planned ones). Found out at 5 weeks with dd1 - was most awfully sick and just wondered... and with dd3, I knew the second we dtd that I had conceived. That was a looooong 40+2.

The weather is utter shite here today. Just miserable. Time for some cheery decorations.

Bornlazy · 08/12/2018 14:30

Total frugal fail 😫😩 I bought a ham in M&S yesterday that cost £12 and I forgot to put it in the fridge🤦🏻‍♀️ Had to just quickly throw it in the bin never to be spoken of again. I am so angry at myself 🤬

AutumnLeaves12 · 08/12/2018 14:48

That happens to me sometimes. I gave up buying lamb for delivery because it always tasted as though it had been left out of the fridge for too long.

frugalkitty · 08/12/2018 15:05

Long time lurker here (with a different name) but I wanted to pop in and say congratulations to Em I go all gooey when I hear baby news (although I had an awful dream the other night where it happened to me and I woke up in a panic.....my youngest is 10 and I'm way past all that stuff Grin )

There's 22 months between my eldest two and that was an easier gap to manage than the three and a bit gap between numbers two and three, because DS1 was still more of a baby (nappies, naps etc) than DD was when I had DS2. I promise it won't be as hard as you might be thinking. Just don't think that it will be the same as with DS.....it took me a while to realise that they were different and that was ok, I kept worrying that DD wasn't drinking as much as DS did, for example, and she weaned later.....I kept thinking she'd do things the same way and at the same age as her big brother did. Top tip....if this one is a girl, be prepared to be surprised at every nappy change that she hasn't got a willy Grin (and tights go over the nappy but under a babygro....I had to ring and ask my friend the first time I put tights on DD!)

Sorry to just jump in. I haven't posted in a long while but I read every day or two. The really good news is that we are officially debt free, overdraft free and remortgaging with bank statements to prove it since I last posted. It's a very weird thing, I keep thinking how bad things are, when actually they're not so long may it last!

Wow!!! £32746? Sign me up. I love a spam scam. Is it’s a pyramid multi level marketing scheme? Those are my faves

Some of us would love to be able to work Hmm

ememem84 · 08/12/2018 15:56

frugal thanks for the tip!!

I told my Riding instructor today (as I did with ds and it’s in her interest and mine). She said there’s around the same gap between her 3 boys.

Things will be the same but different. In some ways I want it to be a girl. But also want a boy (obviously it’ll be one or the other) as boy will be easier. As have clothes to hand down etc.

Spends today £30 riding. Great lesson - jumped high today 1m. Told instructor after lesson. She wouldn’t have let me otherwise.

Riding friend gave me some hand me downs from her nephew. So lovely!

And dh is now out buying our Christmas tree. Ds is napping. I’m having a rest. Apparently I need to do that loads now. 😂

Gemma Wow. #bosssbabe. You should totally quit school on earnings like that.

I’m so sorry Laska. Flowers

Justanothermile · 08/12/2018 16:11

Well done to your DD North, that's fabulous, she's right to be over the moon. How's your DS btw?

DS is home next weekend - itching to see him now, it's all part of life but it will be good to have him home. Agreed, exciting and nervous times for Dd, we are realistic though!

Wolfcub · 08/12/2018 16:30

Busy day. Totally whacked now. Ds has had contact. I have assisted df in putting up shelves and have cleaned both bedrooms. Ds’s bed stripped and made. Two lots of washing done - I’m getting my breath back before I hang the second one up.
Christmas presents are all wrapped.
Took ds to buy a present for h £29 at the specialist chocolate shop and card ffs! My present from ds is from Sainsbury’s so I suspect a different level of effort had gone in!

Will make a biryani in the instant pot later. Yesterday we had salmon and rice in it and earlier in the week I did Ragu and a steamed pudding. Happier I hope your replacement works properly I think I’d cry if mine broke now

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/12/2018 16:46

Well done Kitty you have done really well.
