Happy Birthday cag CakeCake

Happierwithouthim · 07/12/2018 15:37

christmas
Tesco do a scheme called tesco clubcard boost where your vouchers are worth up to 4 times their value and they can be used for restaurants/days out/magazine subscriptions etc. One thing I miss from using Tesco credit card & getting tesco delivered Sad

Metal Print

Our previous family photo is done on a piece of metal like a tv screen I might replace it with this

Happierwithouthim · 07/12/2018 15:40

Bought a faux fur cream jacket on ebay it's autograph from m&s hopefully dd will like it because i detest the one she wants to buy from Dunnes Stores Grin £10.99 + £2.99 postage to UK, then €3.85 to get it delivered here via DPD parcel wizard, it was going to be more if I got it posted directly

AutumnLeaves12 · 07/12/2018 15:59

You just need to google for tesco clubcard Christmas. All your vouchers will be listed online and the value multiples by three or four, so you might have a lot of money on there.

Cagliostro · 07/12/2018 16:37

Thank you yes I am 32 today :o

The clubcard boost thing is great but they reduced the multiple value six months ago. Hence us getting loads of tokens before they changed, which we then didn’t quite have time to use

Happy Birthday Cag

My DD1 is 21 today, I feel very old!

Thank you autumn and sea for the replies, I will take it all on board.
I just want the child to be happy with me helping, I will get to talk to the parents in the new year, so should have a better idea then and my colleagues have been helpful with lots of info, I just want to hit the ground running

Wolfcub · 07/12/2018 16:47

Cag that’s fantastic, I want one and a very very happy birthday to you

I have cleaned the bathroom, cleaned and mopped the kitchen, washed out the cutlery drawer ready for my new Christmas present cutlery. Dusted and vacuumed downstairs, load of washing, dishwasher load and dishwasher cleaned. Finished Xmas shopping online with local lady, in local store and in Sainsbury’s and bought wrapping paper and new Xmas jumper.

Wrapped some presents
Took dm to Ikea and M&S
Went to Sainsbury’s
Had nails done

Fought with Microsoft website as it turns out I put vbucks on the wrong account so have raised a refund request (which had better work as it’s an expensive mistake otherwise) and then added money to ds’s account

£65 Sainsbury’s inc jumper, wine and present for friend and all wrapping paper
£5 Ikea
£28 local store present for friend, present for dog, two baubles and all special Xmas cards
£30 local garden person for presents (one is to myself)
£20 nails

Raised complaint with Plusnet for failing to give me a refund yet

Packed old cutlery up for h

I think that’s it for today. I have wine and am going to edit my ocado Xmas order later. These two things may not be a sensible combo

Happy Birthday to cag and curvy DD, I'm not far behind you with DS being 19!

Busy day there wolf... blimey, hope you chill tonight.

That's as far back as I've read - don't know how folk keep up!

Spends
£10 car wash
£20 nails
£300 DS Christmas present (ouch but that's all he's getting)
£11 M&S. Rather than a take out.
£20 Boots - mainly travel sized stuff for DD to take with her on Sunday, plus some stocking filler foot cream that she loves from S&G.

I've also spent a stupid figure on some new trainers for racing but I'm not sure if I'll keep those.

Refund of £30 for a jumper and £32 refund for a damaged pinafore.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/12/2018 17:21

Fucking hell em. Don't listen to me in the future.
Shit man. How big an age gap?
Oh and it might not feel it now but congratulations

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/12/2018 17:21

Happy birthday cag x

Justanothermile · 07/12/2018 17:22

EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful news. Huge congratulations.

Having two close together is tough in the early years but genuinely, it sort of gets it all out of the way in one go. Plus, you've stuff from the first DC. Then, as they get older they all have the same interests and you are not catering for two massive age difference. And.... the second is so much easier in terms of experience, you've done it all before and it's old hat..

You will be fine!!

What did DH say?

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/12/2018 17:25

Ok, mine are a week under 2 years apart. I wont lie I can't remember the first 6 months as it was hard. They are 9&11 now and a total joy. The close age gap work so well for us. One of each too.

Justanothermile · 07/12/2018 17:25

There's 18 months between my two, DH wasn't around a lot when they were tiny as the business was new. There a few days when I thought fuck.....but honest, it just becomes second nature. And it teaches the eldest a lot of stuff too, sharing your attention. Xxxxx

Justanothermile · 07/12/2018 17:27

Agree life, yes the first year was something of a blur but I honestly would do it all again, mine are great mates too. And, when you've got teenagers to take on holiday - boy that's a good thing they got each other .

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/12/2018 17:35

My dh is emergency services and at the time on shift so I felt like a single parent at times. With a good support network around you you will be fine.

Wolfcub · 07/12/2018 17:37

OMG Em congratulations and big hugs x

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/12/2018 17:37

Yes jam. I would go small age gap all over again.
I know a few with 4-5 years and it seems harder some how. Obvs the things are out of peoples control sometimes but in an ideal world

ememem84 · 07/12/2018 17:39

Dh is happy. I’m in shock. Absolutely wasn’t expecting it. Dr went through the options with me. As she said she had to because my initial words were “oh fuck” I binned the leaflet about the other option.

It’s not that I don’t want this. I just didn’t want it now. Make sense?

I’m going back on Monday to sort stuff out. Need to know how far along etc. She estimates about 8 weeks. But can’t be sure until dating scan etc.

They’ll be 22 months apart if things work out. So dr thinks probably late July early August.

I’ll get my head around this. It’s positively swimming right now. I couldn’t have go a big g&t.... 😂😭

Many congratulations em! It will brilliant honestly. Big hugs to you

Eyes up the packets of cilest with deep suspicion

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/12/2018 17:48

Totally get you em. That reaction is soooo normal. Sounds like a good doctor and very sensible making sure you are ok and giving your options.

Summer is good to have 2 little ones. Get C out and about. Find your nearest swing park within falling distance as it will become your friend. Just to get out of the house.

Christmas ocado order edited. Dinner out for ds and I booked for NYE - we would normally be with H’s family so I’m trying to make sure he is distracted. I’ve also booked an activity for NYE daytime

Wolfcub · 07/12/2018 17:55

Em completely get the not now. We are all here to support you and I am sure we all understand the mixed feelings and difficult emotions and challenges this brings xxx
