Place marking

Yesterday I paid off cc with wood pellet delivery & Debenhams order on it - as its with my own bank it was cleared this morning, statement during the week from KBC which is also clear so down to two with balances

Happierwithouthim · 07/12/2018 07:43

Exchanged one of ds schoolbags but he wouldn't get any of the others available so we got a new lunchbox and bottle, clothespegs, two reduced fulfil bars and a Christmas tree decoration Smile

AutumnLeaves12 · 07/12/2018 08:11

I've had to replace the fan in my oven for the second time in two years a couple of weeks ago. The oven was £600 new about 5 years ago. It all makes me realise why people had gas ovens.

ememem84 · 07/12/2018 09:16

Absolutely soaked this morning. Ick. So I’ve suggested bacon rolls. And volunteered my assistant (who has the biggest warmest most waterproof coat) to go and collect them!

Just ordered LOL pop up store for dd from Santa €44.99, she wanted the house which is €200 but is already getting a bike. This is more practical anyhow because she can bring her LOLs from home to dads easily this way, hoping that'll convince her Hmm She's such an easy going child anyhow she'll be happy with whatever she gets.

I'd a bacon bagel with poached egg this morning em it's a morning for it Smile

ChristmasSeacow · 07/12/2018 10:03

I think the parts aren’t cheap but the labour is expensive because it’s a range cooker and the oven tech has to bring a gas safe guy with him to disconnect and reconnect it when they have to pull it out for access. I’m getting separate hob /ovens next time. No more range cookers for me. No sir. You are right though Fluffy, maybe I will email. Not sure what they will do about it, I don’t want money off my next Smeg appliance as there won’t be one!

I had a frugal win yesterday... when I was in the nearby town centre NOT getting a bank account I found myself near a Lidl (I’m not normally near one). I popped in and bought all the stuff I need for a mountain of rocky road and then cancelled it from my Ocado delivery. Saved at least a fiver. Also bought DH a very mini Christmas pudding as he’s the only one who wants any this year. Hope it’s a good ‘un.

I also resisted the chunky bars of almond milk chocolate which I happen to know are amazing. I surprise myself sometimes Grin

Meeting a friend for lunch today in the city, and then having 4 friends and their 4 kids over for lunch tomorrow. I need to do a lot of cooking and tidying!

Bacon rolls Envy

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/12/2018 10:36

I’d ask for expidated repair at minimal cost to yourself. You could buy a new range for £600ish. I calculate you’ll spend half that keeping this one running plus the original purchase price, it’s going to be the most expensive smeg cooker ever.

We’re so close to Christmas you could spit on it and you have no oven.

AutumnLeaves12 · 07/12/2018 11:15

Has anybody worked out where there is nice wrapping paper this Christmas? I always like shiny silver and gold and red wrapping paper, but it takes an epic trek round the shops to find nice stuff.

Happierwithouthim · 07/12/2018 11:41

I'm hoping a trip to the attic will uncover enough wrapping paper for me autumn I got a roll each for dc from Santa as I always wrap theirs differently.

AutumnLeaves12 · 07/12/2018 11:42

I'll cross my fingers for you Happier. I've used up everything in the house now, and will need a bit more.

Cagliostro · 07/12/2018 11:53

Two free codes now for cineworld if anyone wants them. As one friend couldn’t make it today. Will post on FB etc too but do PM me if you want them, they expire on Monday

Pancakes with bacon and syrup, plus a coke float for breakfast. Birthday breakfast of kings! At least I feel a bit better today, hadn’t left the house since Monday!

I need to complain to Tesco though. And maybe Bella italia. They refused to accept our clubcard vouchers even though it didn’t say no breakfast on the terms and conditions. Lots about no set menus etc (breakfast isn’t a set menu either) so I don’t think that was clear. We took our business elsewhere :o but the vouchers expire on Monday too and no time to use them now.

AutumnLeaves12 · 07/12/2018 12:01

Tesco clubcard has gone a bit funny this year.

I tried to buy some magazine subscriptions and this year there is no way to just say "enough vouchers for one annual subscription". I had to go and find out what the magazine costs, then buy that many vouchers.

Then when I went to buy the magazine subscription, it cost much more on the tesco deal website than on the regular website. So I had to pay £25 extra for each one, and I was taking out four.

That's a very pricey mistake.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/12/2018 13:49

£13 sainsburys plus a Christmas present but I used a voucher for that. Bought a pack of gift bags but bought Victoriana style. Think I’ll be returning them for metallic.

Their reducing all the baubles already.

ememem84 · 07/12/2018 14:25

Spends. £9.87 sending mils Christmas bauble out to her. And £4.70 on a wrap and a Diet Coke.

Next year I am kicking the Diet Coke habit. Start on one a week. And wean off. I drink far far too much of it.

Stopped in to dparents for a bit and a play with ds. Now in dr waiting room.

Are you worried the anthrax will have lost potency by the time it arrives?.

ememem84 · 07/12/2018 14:36

Ha!!!

Yep.

OP posts:
ememem84 · 07/12/2018 14:37

Also as a disclaimer that was a joke. No anthrax was sent. It’d be spendy and I don’t have that sort of cash.

Happierwithouthim · 07/12/2018 14:54

Happierwithouthim · 07/12/2018 14:54

Sorry snapfish included a cool personalised diary for dsis too

Cagliostro · 07/12/2018 15:04

Anthrax 😂🙊

Spendy on breakfast (frankie and bennys was quite nice actually, won’t bother with Bella italia again as they’ve stopped doing the breakfast pizza). The grinch was good, didn’t get any snacks as we had just eaten. Home via Morrison’s for a cake milk etc, birthday card as DD is off for a sleepover tonight with a new friend, I’m just sticking a tenner in it as haven’t had time to shop for a present (plus what do you get for a twelve year old you barely know? They are so variable at that age, DD would be equally happy with make up or beanie boos or playmobil or jojo bows)

Wolf as a fellow board game nerd I thought you might like to see the pyjama top that DD chose for me!!!

Only spendy if you declare it on the customs form Em 💁🏼‍♀️

I don’t really know how Tesco clubcards work. I’ve had my clubcard for about 18m. I was surprised that they send me paper vouchers instead of just keeping an electronic balance like Nectar. Other than taking money off my shopping by scanning at the till, how do I spend them on other things?

Just had a lovely lunch with my friend (a former dear colleague) and his mum, who I’d never met before but who also happened to be in London (friend lives in Madrid, his mother in Amsterdam). It was a bit strange to catch up with someone I’d never met but who seemed to know all about me! She was lovely though and it was as though no time had passed with my friend. He also insisted on paying for lunch, very kind of him!

Just off to collect DS from school, then manic time feeding him and fetching dd. Then bedtime. Then tidy up and cook for tomorrow time! 💪🏻

ChristmasSeacow · 07/12/2018 15:24

Is it your birthday Cag? I misunderstood and thought it was a friend's Birthday breakfast. Happy birthday to you!

Happier curious about the metal photo, will look it up
