I find fur difficult. It is beautiful....but on the beastie it was intended for. Weirdly I don't have the same problem with leather. I should but somehow I justify it by thinking the rest of the carcass is used for other things. I need to have a think about my values.

ememem84 · 06/12/2018 20:46

Dsis has just sent me this.

Guess what I’m dping.

Hey guys! I stepped off for a bit, I'm only on page 13 (have a week to catch up on), but thankyou thankyou for all your lovely comments. It means so much ❤❤❤❤

Anyhooo...turns out the person (not boss) who was horrible to me got into a wee bit of hot water over it. There is only about 10 staff, so word gets round very quickly. So, monday was iffy, but on Tuesday I was offered a full time proper contract, with a little pay rise!

I just got on with doing the job I wanted (other person not terribly bothered and does need training), and so far no one has questioned that I am sort of taking the lead.

Other than that, I have a swamp of etsy orders, made over $250 in the last month. And I have enough christmas presents for about 6 families, so I'm good just now.

Love you all by the way xxx (now off to read back...)

That’s great news Lonely. I am so pleased for you.

I am thinking about writing a letter to our director to commend my boss for being a good egg over the last eight months

Wolfcub · 06/12/2018 21:42

Thatsnotmybaby · 06/12/2018 22:06

Congratulations @LonelyOversharer; that's wonderful news Thanks.

ChristmasSeacow · 06/12/2018 22:15

Ah great news Lonely! I’ve skipped a day or two of the thread here and there so just presumed I’d missed some regulars’ posts... I am really glad work is looking up. And the Etsy stuff sounds like it’s going brilliantly!

Moi I’m a limited company - I think any bank would do the basic Experian checks. I rang Experian this afternoon and they looked at it and said it was obvioudlybtgrir mistake, they would put it right, would take 3-5 working days. So hopefully I’ll be able to keep my appointment next Friday to finally get an account 🙄

DS had his nativity play today. He did brilliantly. He was a shepherd - no lines but he had some ‘moves’ around the stage (another shepherd held his hand to help him) and he had to wear a costume, which he’s never done before. He coped with the sitting still and the crowd brilliantly. I was so proud as I didn’t know if he’d be able to do it. (Mind you, I’d have appreciated it more if dd hadn’t been being so difficult and disruptive at the time Angry). His LSA and the teaching staff were thrilled with him too. As a treat I took DS to Costa for a cheese toastie this evening (pretty much his favourite treat in the world!). He was in a very happy mood and I think understand that he’s done something that has pleased people - and maybe he is proud of himself too?

Wrongwayup · 06/12/2018 22:23

Good news lonely. X

ChristmasSeacow · 06/12/2018 22:28

Oh Wolf you should!

And Curvy you asked what we parents would want for our ASD children from a support worker. What I hope for is someone who takes the trouble to really understand the patterns of DS’s behaviour (so what makes him stressed /anxious /happy) and therefore someone who can help to keep him regulated so he can be free to enjoy learning. Someone who learns how best to communicate with him so they can ‘get through’ to him. I also really appreciate it when I feel the LSA actually sees his personality and genuinely likes him - if they can make each other laugh, for example. My DS has quite a good sense of humour but it’s not accessible to people who don’t know how to communicate with him as you need to meet him more than half way! Finally, I want someone who will be a guiding hand to help him navigate nursery /school but will not be tempted to do to much for him. It’s a hard thing for parents to get right too, but giving the child space to be as independent as possible is really important. So I like it when I know they are hovering for when needed but not always in his face. Especially giving him space to try to relate to his peers (my DS, like many ASD kids, relates much better to adults than his peers, which is a different and more difficult skill)

Sorry, that was a long answer! Luckily the lady my DS has at the moment ticks all of these boxes except perhaps the ‘stepping back’ bit. She’s not too bad though and has been getting better at it.

Wrongwayup · 06/12/2018 22:34

Sneaky i assume the pms were as your real name was on the mobile. I saw it but didn't recognise it as a name. Only because my name is like jane smith. So if that was it cool name

Wrongwayup · 06/12/2018 22:38

Oh and 're fur looking at my fur baby now asleep in her bed. Dog abandoned rescue. She is the one thing I would defend with my life. Dp can look after himself though I think he is on his way out. One of my many issues to try to deal with.

SneakyGremlinsBrokeTheSleigh · 06/12/2018 23:02

Twas my name yes and a pretty unique one so thanks for the PMs Grin

Cagliostro · 07/12/2018 00:17

Any of you lovely frugaleers going to a Cineworld sometime between now and Monday? I have a clubcard token code for an adult ticket going spare as we didn’t get a chance to use them all. Happy to PM the code to a regular, you just put it in the voucher bit when booking online :)

As it is, the Caglets and I are seeing the grinch tomorrow with a friend and her DS (after birthday breakfast also paid for with almost-expired clubcard vouchers), a friend and I are seeing Ralph breaks the internet on Saturday, and DH is seeing Ralph with the Caglets in 4DX on Sunday. :o

Feeling slightly more human. Irreparably behind on the thread though. Hugs to all.

AutumnLeaves12 · 07/12/2018 01:16

Hi cag, glad to see you back. I'm a bit under the weather too, so heartened to see that you are resurfacing. Me next I hope.

ChristmasSeacow · 07/12/2018 04:13

Wotcha Cag!

I can’t sleep. Gah. Don’t know why, I’m usually fine but it’s been a rubbish few nights.

Oven people have got back to me to say it’ll be £250 to fix the oven. That’s after spending £180 on another part and labour back in June Confused. So much money. I wonder whether they’ve inflated the quote because they know I’m desperate to have it fixed for Christmas. I don’t think I have time to shop around though and I think in London a lot of companies charge stupidly for labour. Im going to have to do it, aren’t I? Sigh.

Range cooker is just 5 years old. I’m not buying Smeg again.

Wolfcub · 07/12/2018 06:38

Morning all happy frugal Friday

ememem84 · 07/12/2018 06:40

Morning all.

Ds seems to be ok. He goes from full of beans to cuddly but not lethargic or anything. Not a high temp. But there’s definetly something there and he’s itchy. Poor babbooo.

He slept through last night though. Yay.

I’m on a half day today. Finishing at 1230/1 and then off to drs to discuss things and pick up more meds.

Dh came home at just after midnight. He’s got a stinking cold. He’s snored and snorted all night. 😪 it’s going to be one of those long weekends I think.

Best get up...

Send the email wolf.
Great news lonely. Good to see you back.

Hey everyone else. Reading but not keeping up. Work is brutal but off Christmas shopping today. After I log on to clear one thing.

SnugglySnerd · 07/12/2018 07:07

Just checking in. Will catch up later. I don't know where this week has gone. Been so busy. Very low spend though which is good.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/12/2018 07:19

Sea [email protected] email this man, no way an oven should require so much work when it’s only 5.

Cookers ought to last a good 20 years before dying at 23:30 Christmas Eve before 30 people come round for Christmas lunch.

My mother’s had two cookers in 43 years of marriage.

800 nectar points short of a another £27.50 voucher. Got 450 points yesterday.
