Oh lonely! That is fucking abysmal of them, I’m so sorry. Please please please don’t let their behaviour make you think it’s a reflection on you. It’s not.

Bornlazy · 30/11/2018 17:45

Lonely you know you could do that job with your hands tied behind your back! The person you have to train will not be as good as you and your employers will realise that soon enough and when they do I would put money on it that they will start having you doing bits of it to help them out. You are NOT piece of shit, but the person who made you feel like that certainly is 🤬

Wolfcub · 30/11/2018 17:57

Happier you will love your IP, it really is one of those life changing gadgets

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/11/2018 18:17

Lonely I’m so sorry, you didn’t deserve that at all. Let them train them, they’ll probably make a mistake at some point.

AutumnLeaves12 · 30/11/2018 18:50

I've been in the place that lonely is in and I'm sure it's a lot to do with it being a very niche industry. I moved from a career where jobs were very scarce to a computer career where jobs pretty much rained from the ceiling, and suddenly people were much much nicer to me in the new career.

It's easy to feel personally crap in a career where there is very little money and few jobs, but I don't think it's really like that. It's just very much harder to move to a competitor or to receive personal appreciation if there is no competitor. iyswim That's what I imagine is going on anyway. lonely does that seem right at all?

Wrongwayup · 30/11/2018 19:13

Lonely I don't post much. Too much crap going on but 🌺🌻🌺 🌺 for you as you always help others and seem lovely. X

SnugglySnerd · 30/11/2018 19:29

Oh Lonely that's rubbish. You are fab and lovely and they don't deserve you.

Meadow sorry you're having a rough time too.

Sorry if I've missed anyone else. I just popped in to wish everyone a happy weekend and I've only read back 2 pages. Will catch up with everyone else's news now...

Happierwithouthim · 30/11/2018 19:44

Fluffy I'm aware of that but still I won't have to stand over a frying pan will I Grin

Lonely that's just awful, but you are not a piece of shit you are a lovely talented beautiful person who's unappreciated in her place of work, it's horrible but it's a reflection on them not you ThanksThanks

Wolf I'm thrilled that you did that with ds putting your own stamp on your future

Au pair told me h was really cross when he collected dc this evening & for a moment I panicked & wondered why but I quickly copped on to myself & said his moods are no longer my concern

Taytocrisps · 30/11/2018 20:06

Happier are you watching the Late Late Toy Show tonight? We're getting a take away and I also have some goodies in.

northender · 30/11/2018 21:10

Jam well done on surviving your shopping trip. As an only child I don't have the sibling issue but swear if my dad asks dh once more how his job is, while completely ignoring the fact that I am also worthy of taking interest in I will have to scream "I'm your daughter, take some interest" in a vaguely deranged way. Of course I won't, as it would be a waste of energy, he never has taken any interest, but his complete lack of emotional intelligence is breathtaking.
Lonely just look how far you've come in such a relatively short space of time. It sounds like you've been treated really badly by your boss. Rise above it if you can.
Christmas I too love the idea of you sweeping into Debenhams.
Cag you sound brighter. Hope that continues.
Em enjoy the champagne reception, glad your anxiety has stepped down a bit.
Tough day at work today, but done for the weekend now.
Almost gave in to takeaway temptation tonight, but then found bolognese in the freezer, so spag bol with garlic bread...delish.

Wolfcub · 30/11/2018 21:31

Sounds delicious North. We had brisket from the freezer, the instant pot does great brisket

£6 pub. Friend gave me some money they owed too so my wallet is healthier than when I went out

Em I hope you are enjoying your champagne reception

Lonely I hope all the lovely comments are lifting your spirits just a little

Happierwithouthim · 30/11/2018 21:55

Tayto I wasn't going to be because dc are at their dads & I was going to wait until Sunday but he couldn't get RTÉ working so they're here with me watching it now. No goodies because I wasn't expecting them to be here but there's loads left from Halloween if they want something.

My first instant pot dinner was chicken teriyaki & was delicious I'm stuffed.

I did 2.5 hours of typing for my friend.
I've had a busy week so I'm tired now might not see the toy show through to the end Grin

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 30/11/2018 22:29

Late sign on,

lonely 💐 you're lovely, your work are not.

meadow that all sounds really stressful, croup in babies can be nasty, I think that's the one they recommend lots of steam for. Hope dd and dh and dgp all feel better soon!

Another very busy day at work, felt like my feet didn't touch the floor. Finished late, quick tea and then we've been out to a colleagues scentsy party! Was quite fun, smelt lots of samples and bought one wax melt £7.25. I was given a little electric burner for my b day and the melts last ages.

Dd and I have both got colds, my throats been scratchy all day and now my nose is going 😣

AutumnLeaves12 · 30/11/2018 23:15

My head is absolutely buzzing with all that I've learned this week. I learned to turn an orchestral score into the printed parts for a whole orchestra (and printed them) and I started learning to read jazz and blues timing from sheet music with a metronome. Which is not a thing that comes naturally to me. I met whole lot of new people to work with, which is a huge step after being at home by myself for such a long time. And I got my music exam certificate through the post. Yay!

The expensive bit of that was buying the music software, but I got it on my academic discount so that was good.

I am cooling my brain down with a bit of washing folding and then some painting on my big painting by numbers canvas.

Starts again tomorrow morning... Smile

northender · 01/12/2018 00:06

Am very Envyof all you IP people. I saw the Black Friday deal & couldn't decide. By the time I decided to take the plunge, they were back to their usual price. I've no urgent need for one though, so I'll wait for another deal.....

ChristmasSeacow · 01/12/2018 00:40

Ooh, missed a fair bit this evening while DSis was here and I put my phone down.

Lonely it’s not you, it’s them. Genuinely. We all think you are ace* on this thread and they are rubbish. Not to mention the fact that legally they should be open to applications from anyone internal who wants to apply (and actually should interview you unless there’s a reason you don’t meet the person criteria - specific qualification or experience, for instance). So they are acting illegally as well as being shitty. It’s not you. They don’t know what they are doing.

*showing my age.

You okay Wrong?

Found some tomato and pepper sauce in the freezer and re-purposes the moussaka mince for meatballs, so no further spend on dinner. Just blueberries, a choc advent calendar for DS and some Toffiffee for me and DSis (a family favourite).

Had quite a nice evening - chatted to DSis and wrapped a few presents. Might have some festive feeling creeping in now.

Btw, I ‘swept’ because I was in a parking-expiry-induced rush. But I managed to be extremely regal while I was at it Grin

SneakyGremlins · 01/12/2018 00:43

Pawsecco is largely untouched. Cat keeps looking at it, then at me, then wailing.

£1.bloody79 that was! That's a loaf of bread and 13 cheese slices!

AutumnLeaves12 · 01/12/2018 07:30

I just got a google calendar reminder email, set by me last year, to remind me that advent calendars go on sale price today. #SkinFlint

Happierwithouthim · 01/12/2018 07:57

Autumn that's brilliant! Made me Smile

I saw that Tesco have tubs of sweets 3 for €10 & I'm not buying them.
I'll get gifted chocolates at work, dc will get gifted selection boxes, there's only us here for Christmas and my waistline doesn't need it at all.

Today's day of my party so I'm getting up & making a start. Dc are with their dad until later so I'll have no interruptions.

ememem84 · 01/12/2018 08:05

Morning all.

Last night was lovely. I had 4 glasses of champagne. Which was delicious. Some gorgeous canapés. Dh picked me up at 745 on his way from picking Ds up from dparents. Dparents offered him dinner so I had more time.

So came home at a reasonable hour felt relaxed. Then had a pizza. Then watched “death by magic” on Netflix. And then bed.

Feeling ok so far this morning. Ds woke up at 6. But seemingly has gone back to sleep.

Dh is sleeping. I’m downstairs with catface.

£30 riding in the rain today. Hoorah!

I’m bidding on some dishes on eBay. So complicated. The seller has them for auction and buy now and make offers. My offers were rejected. So I’ve bid 1p over the starting price. Auction ends on wednesday

Pour it back in the bottle and return it for a refund Sneaky.

Wolfcub · 01/12/2018 08:28

Morning all. It is somewhat wet here again today.

H’s money has not gone into the joint account again. It’s not him I don’t think, this happened the last time the 1st of the month fell on a Saturday the banks stmystems don’t seem to cope but it really naffs me off 1) because I have to ask him to sort it 2) because it’s the same bank as the joint account and they can’t find their arse with their own hands. I told him to complain last time, not sure he did

I’m going to try and find where he’s stashed the Christmas tree and Christmas lights today. I don’t want to have to ask him as I don’t want the subsequent conversation

Happier have a wonderful party today. Em glad you had a lovely time last night.
