OMG those grapes lonely 😮😂

born I tried ranitidine but it made me feel really sick 😒 I just don't do well with meds generally I think, although saying that codeine is fine! Sensible to ring work, it's not the kind of job you can do when your backs not right.

Can't believe the wend is over already, time generally feels like it's on fast forward at the moment!

ChristmasSeacow · 11/11/2018 22:01

At a glance at the thumbnail I thought those grapes were bullets! 😂

Naproxen was bloody brilliantly for me. No side effects that I noticed and got me on my feet (I literally wasn’t, without it). Codeine, however, can Foxtrot Oscar right off. Sick as a dog on cocodamol, I was.

Strictly - I was pleased because I like Graham but his performance did seem a lot messier.

Wolfcub · 11/11/2018 22:07

Isn’t it strange how we all react in different ways to painkillers. Codeine is one of the few I do seem to cope with although it does make me stupid so I don’t take it when working or driving.

ChristmasSeacow · 12/11/2018 00:15

It really is strange! Cocodamol actually made me faint, literally. I felt sick and completely off my face on half the prescribed dose 😂

Working late. I’m always cold at my computer so I’ve just bought some Turtle Dove fingerless gloves (and a Christmas pair for MIL). A non-frugal displacement activity but also frugal as I’m chuffing cold.

DH found mouse droppings yesterday but we forgot to put the traps out. I am twitching at each and every little sound Grin🐁 We always get one of two when the weather turns cold, but then that’s always been it for the year. 🤞🏻

AutumnLeaves12 · 12/11/2018 06:28

Girlie I take ranitidine but there is only one brand that works for me. The others all give me stomach trouble. The good one for me is called "Accord" and it's the standard one that boots stocks. I can take the 150mg one but not the 300mg one for some reason, maybe because I cut the 300mg one in half.

Maybe you'd be entirely different though? Drugs are weirdly complicated.

Is it really common for medics to get back and neck trouble from lifting patients? Nearly all my friends who have this at the moment are medics. It doesn't seem fair that that should be happening to people who are in a caring profession. I noticed that the new hospital in Glasgow has lifting equipment in every room, which seems very sensible.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/11/2018 07:56

Free soya mince x 2 on checkout smart in Sainsbury’s.

ememem84 · 12/11/2018 07:58

Morning all.

Nsd planned today. Back to work for me after my 5 day weekend! Full week too!

Hoping that we manage to get our WiFi sorted this week. Dh has run out of data on his phone and is driving me crazy!

Bornlazy · 12/11/2018 08:12

When I started nursing we used to physically lift people in and out of bed and when they brought in hoists we all hated them as they took much longer..... now you wouldn’t dream of not using one. I can’t imagine doing this job when I’m 68 right enough.

Sea peppermint oil works to deter mice. I get them in my garage and they vanished when I sprinkled it about the place. Think you are supposed to put cotton wool soaked in it into the place you think they are getting in.

AutumnLeaves12 · 12/11/2018 08:19

I'm glad you have hoists now Born. That really sounds like hard work, lifting other people.

CurlsandCurves · 12/11/2018 09:19

Morning,

Still trying to get my boys to make a Christmas list. I save all year round, the money is sitting there, ready to spend, I just want to get on with it!

DH and I did celebrate our anniversary in the end. He rang my mum to babysit and we went to see Bohemian Rhapsody. Fantastic film, loved it. A few friends have said they want to go, so am putting it out there that I’m happy to tag along if anyone wants me!

ChristmasSeacow · 12/11/2018 10:11

Ooh good tip Born. I don’t actually know where they are getting in, it’s a 1920s house so lots of possible places. But I can stick some in under the stairs cupboard etc, in case they get ideas about nesting

Got to bed at 5.15am, then DD got me up at 6 😫 Still have a fair bit of work do today but I am definitely having an early night tonight, and looking forward to it!

I am not sure this flexible working around the family is going to work brilliantly for me Confused

Cag and Wreck, hope you guys pop back soon!

Wolfcub · 12/11/2018 10:58

Sea that sounds like a bit of a nightmare. Did you sort a nanny or nursery in the end? Will things improve when/if this kicks in.

I have ordered some bits to make a Pom Pom wreath for Christmas with some of my yarn stash

ememem84 · 12/11/2018 11:11

Won’t be nsd. I had the bright idea on Saturday of getting a canvas and some paint and getting ds to do some painting for mil in nz as her Christmas present (have also bought her a clarins gift set...)

So today have to buy materials.

Saturday afternoon could be messy....!

Wolfcub · 12/11/2018 13:36

I’ve just spent a very therapeutic lunch break wrapping twine round a polystyrene wreath. Unfortunately I now smell like a hessian sack!

ChristmasSeacow · 12/11/2018 15:25

It’s quiet today! I sent my draft in this morning and then I should have been plugging away at the appendices but I did succumb to a hour’s nap. Feel loads better for it!

Em I really want to do some hand printing with DD but I can’t get her to open her fist on command, it’s really frustrating! We’ve been making quite a mess with the bauble painting but it’s been so much fun. Might do one every year with each child and put their name /year on it.

£1.50 on the jacket potatoes I forgot yesterday.

Cagliostro · 12/11/2018 15:25

I am here thanks for @-ing me mammy x
Just checking in while waiting at doctors as they were able to fit me in today as a matter of urgency. Have been in a rather dark and scary place and much worse the last few days. Will update later x

ememem84 · 12/11/2018 15:39

Oh cag nice to hear from you but so sorry you’ve not been in a good place the last few days. Hope things are ok. Xxx

mammynowanauntyIRL · 12/11/2018 16:21

@Cag hope you get the help you need Flowers sorry to hear you're not feeling too good.

AutumnLeaves12 · 12/11/2018 16:21

Take care there Cag. FlowersCakeBrew

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/11/2018 17:17

Tell us if you want to Cag, or not. Either is fine.

Aldi £17. 3 main meals for that and a grocery top up.
Poundland £4, 2 big fuck off size dolmio bolognaise sauces and two Yorkshire pudding tins.
£4.04 Iceland, dhs fave chips and butter.
£1.39 1kg of apples and a bottle bag. Christmas shopping has officially begun. Nearly shoplifted the apples but remembered before I had to use "still fucked up from Saturday night" as a defence. So that's good.

I don't think Waitrose will be sending me anymore £20 off vouchers so it's back to aldi for me. I shop totally differently now so it will be quicker than it used to be. I didn't have an October or November one. Dh will miss the pizzas but we have an M&S food store nearby so I shall look in there.

AutumnLeaves12 · 12/11/2018 17:31

The nice conductor at our orchestra just sent an orchestral score for ds's music and I had it printed for him at the corner shop. I took it to school at 3pm and ds sat in the boat in the playground explaining it to smaller children. They stayed for quite a long time in the boat each to have the explanation. I think this music lark is definitely good. Also, very nice conductor, who I owe one now. Must learn to play better.

ememem84 · 12/11/2018 17:40

£33 in next. Jammies a pair of trousers and some boots for ds.

I’m feeling a bit off. Bloated and sick. Eugh. I’ve drunk loads of water today to keep hydrated. I suspect it’s somethibg to do with the large amount of lentils I’ve eaten - in soup together with a whole bulb of roasted garlic. That combined with garlicy greasy roast lamb with rosemary last night probably hasn’t helped. And I’m tired. Feel emotionally and physically drained. Looking forward to bedtime.

Justanothermile · 12/11/2018 18:03

Take care cag.

Well new week and new shit - car broken into last night ffs. Nothing taken, unless they fancied some poo bags and a dog towel, but fucking annoying anyway.

Struggling with my usual positive self at present must admit.

AdoraBell · 12/11/2018 18:09

Hope Doc is able to help cag

£5-ish on spices and dried fruit.
£1.80-ish, ham from the butchers

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/11/2018 18:18

Oh ffs, what is going on with your life Jam? Did they think you’d be leaving brand new iPhones and diamond tiaras in your car?.

Garages are too small, you can’t get family sized cars in them.
