Cagliostro · 12/11/2018 18:26

Oh no jam! When it rains it pours 😰😡

Trying Paroxetine or something like that and seeing doctor (who is lovely) again in four weeks.

Lovemaltesers · 12/11/2018 18:39

Thanks cag

Angry jam

I had a better day at work today, probably because shit was kicking off around me, but not at me Grin

NSD

Wolfcub · 12/11/2018 19:06

Big hugs to Cag and Jam. Cag I’ve had that before and some in the same family. Hope it helps. I’ve been working myself up to going and having that sort of convo with the gp.

Jam that’s really annoying. I left my car on Friday and got back to find three (electric) windows wound down halfway. Nothing taken luckily and I’m blaming the windows on electrics. Proper car break ins have happened to me before It is really upsetting when it happens though and the glass gets everywhere.

Flowers
SnugglySnerd · 12/11/2018 19:12

Flowers for Jam and Cag.

NSD. Very tired but at least it's dh's turn to persuade ds to go to sleep tonight.

Bornlazy · 12/11/2018 19:18

Cag hope the tablets help you feel better Flowers

Jam it never rains but it pours. Surely that's your bad luck over for now. Hope you get your mojo back soon.

Went to GP who was a bit vague about what she thinks is actually wrong with my back (something to with the facet joints moving too much) but the good news is she doesn't think its a slipped disc. It is worse than ever tonight as getting there and sitting in the waiting room has done me no favours Sad. She gave me dihydrocodeine to try as I don't get on at all with co codamol. I really want to crawl back into bed as that is where it is least painful but trying my best to stay mobile.

ememem84 · 12/11/2018 19:49

cag I hope the tablets help you lovely xx

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/11/2018 19:52

Ah jam that shit, bunch of twats..

Cag, talk or not, up to you but we are here. You are the opposite of everything the irrational side of your brain says. The works is a good place with you in it. Hope the meds work soon.

Get some rest em.
Well done on the music

Shitty mc shit day here. Got my money worth from the NHS. For both DC.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/11/2018 19:53

Born hope the pain relief works

LonelyOversharer · 12/11/2018 20:00

Crikey, what a poor time we're having. FlowersCake and Brew all round 💗💗💗

I had a loong day at work, a pizza party, and a lack of caffiene headache. So have got off lightly really.

Trip to Sainsburys after work tomorrow to hopefully double up some nectar points, and will pick up a metric shit tonne of toys. (argos 3for2, shuffled into 3 lots, saving £64), christmas buying in full swing.

SnugglySnerd · 12/11/2018 20:37

Ouch Born! Hope the tablets work.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 12/11/2018 21:01

jam, cag and born you all deserve FlowersCakeBrew and lot of (((hugs)))

I got told today that there will not be a job for me in January, I wasn't really surprised, but did hope.
Anyway I have began to write my CV and will do a personal statement in a few days, and have already started applications for two jobs.

Spends
£3.05 in Superdrug on a new lipstick and some eyeshadow, probably because I felt like a bit of a failure.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/11/2018 21:48

Oh Curvy That’s awful, I’m so sorry. It’s always before Christmas isn’t it?.

Your not a failure. Not at all.

Bornlazy · 12/11/2018 22:10

Life hope your DC are ok and it was nothing serious.

Curvy I really hope you get another job soon and that you like it even better than this one Flowers

Took one of the painkillers earlier and I wasn't sick so that's a good thing. Not sure it helped that much but here's hoping Wink

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 12/11/2018 22:29

Thanks guys, I knew it wasn't guaranteed and I know it comes down to the budget, but I also know we are stretched.
The government want a lot for not enough money.
The thing is I really like where I work and will always be grateful, we have a great reputation too, but everything has to come to an end.

I am optimistic though as I have nothing to lose, but at the same time a little scared as I've never really had a job interview.

life hope your DCs are ok.
born hope the medication works.

Thatsnotmybaby · 12/11/2018 22:31

Yesterday's spends:
£2 tea

Today was NSD.

So sorry to read that you are struggling @Cagliostro. Hopefully the meds start to kick in very soon and you are kind to yourself in the meantime Thanks.

Justanothermile · 12/11/2018 23:46

Thanks for the kindness guys. I'm just pissed off, but just pissed off due to life events rather than anything MH related. I'll just go with it until I feel cheerful again, it doesn't generally take me long.

It appears the little scumbags went round the village last night trying their luck, but were opportunistic rather than super professional. Luckily there's a lot of folk with cctv who have footage.

cag, you take care, real care of yourself. Let your family take care of you too. Be kind to yourself in your thoughts and know we care xx

wolf, if you need to go, go to the GP. You deal with an awful lot at present admirably, but allow yourself the luxury of seeking help if you need to. Xx

born, genuinely from a back pain sufferers of folk, you have my utmost sympathy, it's agony.

curvy, it's business, just business. No reflection on how bloody good you are at your job. And you bloody are good at your job, promise.

life, you're having an up and down ride too these last few months. Doesn't go unnoticed here. Chin up to you, chin up to me.

fluffy, the garage is full of shit, organised shit so DH claims, but shit none the less. Got the soya mince tip off, thanks.

Sil took us out tonight to the Motown musical, which was great. She bought the tickets and I bought a round of soft drinks for about £7. That's my spending for the day.

Ddogs wound is healing as well as can be expected according to the vet, he even tried yawning tonight, which means opening his mouth quite far - not an unqualified success, but progress...

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/11/2018 06:10

Thanks guys.
1x UTI
1x sprained knee. For the DC

Rubbish news on the job curvy. Good luck with the hunt.

To the city of steel on the early train today. Will spend cash but expense most of it.

ememem84 · 13/11/2018 06:29

Morning y’all

Off to a seminar this morning. A regulatory update. Yawn. But important. And 2 hours of CPD. Yay. I’m basically at my target now. I had to do 35 hours this year (like everyone else) but had 8 months to do it in not 12 (like everyone else).

Buying lunch today as will be going to seminar before work so don’t want to drag my gym bag handbag and lunch bag with me. Will take up too much space. Will shove snacks in my gym bag though. Lunch should be around £3.

curvy sorry to hear about the job. Don’t let it get you down too much. You will find something else. Bad timing right before Christmas but new year new start and all that...

cag take care of you and let others take care of you xxx

wolf as above. Take care of you. If you need to see the gp then go. You can’t takecare of everyone else if you’re not taking care of your self (says she who isn’t really looking after herself...)

Better sleep last night. Yay. Just getting up now to tackle the day.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 13/11/2018 06:47

Morning all.
Thank you again everyone, it really means a lot x.

And wolf I echo what others have said, please look after you (((hugs)))

Wolfcub · 13/11/2018 07:16

Jam I hope there is enough cctv to catch the little scrotes

Life poor dcs. I hope they feel better soon.the idea of a sprained knee makes me cringe that’s got to be really painful. Take care of yourself lovely, I’m sure you are playing nurse now on top of everything else. We are here if you need us. Hope the city of steel treats you well today. I’m heading west.

Em hope the seminar is better than you anticipate.

Born I hope the pain is better today.

Cag I hope today you feel a sense of relief and achievement after speaking to the gp. It will get better and if you want us and need us we are here.

Happy frugal Tuesday all of you lovely people.

SnugglySnerd · 13/11/2018 08:00

Morning all!

Was hoping for NSD today but realised I forgot to buy yoghurt in the weekly shop. We get through a lot of yoghurt so I'd better go and buy some. How could I forget??

Is anyone else still drying washing outside? Got all the bedding dry yesterday so I've just pegged out a load of clothes. Hopefully they will dry. Don't ever remember hanging washing out in November before.

Have a good Tuesday everyone!

CurlsandCurves · 13/11/2018 08:04

Hi guys,

jam that’s really crap about your car. Hope you’re feeling brighter soon.

cag lovely to see you, but sorry you’re feeling down. Hope the tablets work and you start to feel better.

curvy what shit timing about your job. But at least you know now and I’m sure you’ll find something you love to move on to very soon.

wolf take care of yourself, go get that help if you need it.

born hope you’re feeling better.

Blimey that’s quite a list! I really hope things are on the up for everyone very soon, you’re all such a lovely bunch.

Hoping for just an ESD today of £2 on breakfast. I help out at my WW meeting and we always have a Greggs bacon roll and coffee after weigh in. The boys are going through a crumpet phase so need to grab some more of those too (£1 max).

ememem84 · 13/11/2018 11:20

Oooh crumpets.

Seminar done. It was interesting. And there was super naice coffee and mini cinnamon rolls. Mmmm.

Now at work. Have had my fruit pot (homemade) and a cuppa.

Last pt session this evening 😭

Cagliostro · 13/11/2018 12:18

Morning all. Gosh so many tough times around ATM. I am starting to think November is just plain evil. 💖💐🍰🍫 to all xx

Dad’s cheque has cleared and mum and grandma also gave me some money for the kids Christmas presents (they prefer to do this rather than choosing something) so just working out what to do with it.

Unfortunately a large chunk of it may be needed for a new dryer, we bought a spare part but it’s proving impossible to get the back off, one of the bolts is on wrong 😡 crossthreaded or something and then the fan melted onto it. If DH can get it off it should be fine. We have an airer now (hooray for living so close to Asda) but it’s totally the wrong time of year for this to happen 😡 and it’s out of warranty and all that. Is there some kind of generic appliance insurance you can get? I definitely want a longer term sort of protection against this sort of thing in future.

First tablet has been taken, feel a bit weird but was somewhat sleep deprived anyhow (thanks Cagletini 🙄) Caglets have a friend round and they’re upstairs planning a rainforest project. Anyway we shall see if they work. Apparently they are good for anxiety which is a far bigger issue for me (paranoia through the roof etc).

I agree wolf don’t wait to get seen, these things can change unpredictably and we wouldn’t wait for any other physical health issue, it’s no different from needing antibiotics for an infection, the sooner the better. When I saw the GP last week I said I was fine to wait a few more weeks (my app was about something else and we didn’t have time to cover both) and yet within a few days it escalated to the point I nearly took myself to hospital and ended up begging DH to take yesterday off as dependents leave as I was in such a mess I didn’t feel safe on my own (as it happens they’ve asked him to work Friday instead so no pay lost).
