Ds has had a very decadent morning bath. And is now napping. Dm has made bacon and scrambled eggs on toast. Yum.

I’m back on bed having a quiet 10 minutes thinking about showering.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/09/2018 09:27

I've been in bed 11 hours 😁 might get up soon....

It seems very dark so am thinking the weather is rubbish.

Dd has riding this morning and I've booked a massage at lunchtime which am hoping will help with my back/ arm pain. Noticed Annie the musical is coming to Bristol next year so think will book tickets as part of dds bday present.

Am starring to worry a bit about Christmas, even though I will still get my basic pay while I've been off work I won't get any of the enhancements and millage which is at least £200-£300 a month 😰 am actually dreading payday.

Christmas was tight last year but this year will be even worse! Plus in Oct I have four bdays to buy for, both brothers and two very good friends as well as a spa trip for one of the good friends bdays (40th) 😧 I'm going to need to do some serious budgeting.

LonelyOversharer · 22/09/2018 09:40

Enjoying a coffee and pain aux chocolate (thankyou lidl!). Have ebay stuff to bag and post, then the feed shop for ferret stuff...dd3 and I are going to prepare them for winter. We found that they semi hibernate, so new wood shavings down, clean out hutch, spruce up spare cage, fill with old clothes etc. They live outside, and we want them to be very cosy.

After that, I'm not sure what we're doing. It won't be much!

Yesterday I spent £35 topping up in Lidl. I had a mad craving for pastries, and so went there to buy tea. I had in mind a ready meal. The best I could do was pre made puff pastry, filled with cheese and ham, with sliced tomatoes on top. Salad, and frozen potato balls, they're on the french special, and are really good! But then I did put them in the fryer. And £14 in tesco on pespsi max (ugh) and junk. And £14 in dunelm on binbags and by-the-till stuff.

And the usual £100 to the garage. Outstanding bill £470. So in 3 months I have paid off: £660 (c1 mot and rear end refit) £520 (c1 clutch) and now just the £515 to get the rx8 on the road to go. I'm not sure what I would have done without my wages, we would have been right up shit creek, with no working cars.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 22/09/2018 09:42

Girlie people will understand that you've been off sick and can't afford much. Sounds like a great nights sleep.
I'm not up yet but awake on & off all night. Hunger is getting the better of me now though so I'll have to get up.
Was thinking omelette but scrambled egg sounds good em with medallions on a bagel Grin

Ah lonely now you've thrown a spanner in the works cos I've got croissants too

Justanothermile · 22/09/2018 09:43

It's definitely a hibernating kind of day.

I've some shopping to do, as we've folk coming for dinner tomorrow. And the very last bits for university.

And some blinds to sort for our bedroom.

Nothing major.

LonelyOversharer · 22/09/2018 09:44

girlie are these the type of brothers that will understand, and shrug and say 'just buy me a pint' as presents for adults are silly; or the type that will huff and not speak to you for months in a sulk? My sibling is the latter, it was very wearing when I was not eating myself as I had nothing spare. Now I give no fucks!

For your good friends, a cute handwritten IOU might go down well in a card.

Ebay for stuff for dd - order now for things coming from China, she'll understand too ♥️

ememem84 · 22/09/2018 09:48

Chores to be done today:

Change bedding
Hoover bedroom
Put laundry away.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 22/09/2018 09:54

@Lonely that's a phenomenal amount of money to have paid back that's fantastic well done

Enjoy your Saturdays Grin

Wolfcub · 22/09/2018 10:31

Girlie that must be quite stressful to take such a drop in income, I think Lonely and Mammy both have good advice. Can you do a cupboard/freezer eating challenge and put aside some of the food money for Christmas?

Morning my lovelies.

Cag & wreck I hope you start to feel better soon. Somehow everything seems hard when you aren't firing on all cylinders.
Sea your cake pops are amazing.
Lonely I would just keep turning up for work.
Wolf do you have to give your h's aunt headspace. I don't get the premise that it is the women who have to keep the wheels turning when the shit hits the fan. Somehow it is our fault when the men in our lives fall short. I don't know why she is being difficult but could you tell her in the nicest possible way to bother your h about whatever it is about his behaviour that is causing her torment.
,Mammy good budgeting skills.
Em my head would have snapped if I hadn't been working when the kids were small.

Today I am going to make some choux buns, fill them with almond praline ( or maybe hazelnut....) Coat with chocolate eat them all and explode. I quite like the look of the apricot & almond Sicilian tart in today's Guardian.... Maybe do that for tomorrow.

Unescorted · 22/09/2018 10:33

The baking is displacement...saves me sorting he washing or cleaning the bathroom.

Unescorted · 22/09/2018 10:35

girlie people will understand. I would be mortified to think that someone was financially stressing themselves to buy me a present.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 22/09/2018 10:42

Jodhpurs brand new if anyone wants them

Unescorted the profiteroles sound amazing. If you could just send a few over the hills by drone that would be lovely.

Girlie
I slept for 12 hours to the minute Blush
My face was numb when I woke up Grin
I would take the opportunity to downsize Christmas ,no cards and DC presents only.
I only buy for immediate family and my hairdresser Smile
Hair today thenAldi/Lidl.
Bedlinen, floors and hoovering then rest of the weekend is mine.
Unescorted that recipe sounds nice .
Lonely brilliant well done on getting so much paid off.

CurlsandCurves · 22/09/2018 11:07

unescorted those pastries sound amazing!
girlie people will be uderstanding of your situation, I’m sure. .

We are all still in pjs here. DH is at work today, but family night in tonight.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/09/2018 11:11

lonely I have one brother who won't give a monkeys if I didn't get him anything and my other brother has already put his order in 😐 a £15 pair of socks!!

Christmas will be scaled right back, I have got some savings but don't want to dip in to them too much!

I'm watching dd ride, we're in the school as it's chucking down!

ChristmasSeacow · 22/09/2018 11:37

Not much sleep here but now on the way to the cable car over the Thames - DS’s choice! He’s holding up quite well today - choosing his favourite breakfast seems to have helped.

I have a very long list of chores for when we get home Hmm. Determined to get more than 4 hrs sleep tonight.

Bornlazy · 22/09/2018 11:52

Had a horrendous night last night, felt really unwell with high temperature and rigors. Feel slightly better now but will need regular paracetamol and ibuprofen to get through this weekend.

Girlie that’s terrible that your pay will be so much less as a result of being off sick. Do you have a lot of people to buy for at Christmas? Maybe you could cut back on some if you do.

Sea Happy Birthday to your DS hope he has a great day.

WreckTangled · 22/09/2018 12:29

Chocolate chip shortbread chilling in the fridge and leek and potato soup cooking.

Have been to the park and got my prescription.

Dh has given his brother our now tv password which is my password with my email. I'm not impressed.

Am about to order a freestyle libre sensor (blood sugar level scanner basically) it's £43 for two weeks but I just can't get things right at the moment. Can't afford it but hey ho.

Unescorted · 22/09/2018 12:47

I have gone all bake off and measured the circles onto a template so they are all the same size & all cooked in the same time..... 24 almost identical chouxs. We have gone for hazelnut. DD & will eat them for lunch. wolf you are welcome to join us. I have realised why mine rarely look BO ...they aren't trying to put the washing through, taking several calls from their mother and signing for next doors parcels while burning the caramel.

Girlie I would chop the toes off.

LonelyOversharer · 22/09/2018 12:57

Given your diabetes wreck I'd say that was a necessary spend.

Dd3 and I went pet stuff shopping Blush we spent loads. £38 in the feed shop, but the ferret food will last 3 months. £28 in the range and £55 in pets at home, but got a new harness for my little dog, he has to be on lead or runs off (head down spaniel with no recall), and his collar is not enough. Plus £25 fuel for the week, £19 postage, just made the post too.

Having some scran then it's the ferret enclosure for me! Ferrets really really smell.

Wolfcub · 22/09/2018 13:07

Sea happy birthday to ds, hope he enjoys the cable car

OP posts:
CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/09/2018 13:48

Sea hope ds enjoys his birthday.

Not been posting much as I have been so tired and have deadlines for coursework to be in, so have just been working non-stop to get it all in.
Yesterday at work I got a really severe pain from my ribs going all the way down into my leg, on my left side, was very painful and I had to go and have some pain killers, but today I'm fine, very strange. I'm really hoping that the cold just got to me and is nothing more serious, so have dug out some thermals.
Spends yesterday
£5 on lunch, which was annoying as I forget my lunch at home
£3 poundshop
Spends today
Coat and boots for dd2 £40 in tk maxx
Hat and filter coffee for me £13.98 also tk maxx. (Disclaimer: I've never owned a warm hat as they make me look stupid, but I've decided that I can't put up with the cold anymore).
Lidl £29.46, Morrisons £18.56 that should be it for food apart from milk during the week.
I need to be more organised about taking lunch to work to save money so I'm planning on making a bit more at dinner time so I can take leftovers the next day.

Meal plan
Today salad
Sun Roast, will cook extra sausages so I can take for lunch
Mon veggie soup
Tues pizza
Wed scrambled eggs/ tomatoes on toast
Thur spag bol
Fri chicken curry/ quinoa curry.
The soup will do me for a good few days at work and other days I will take sandwiches or wraps. The quinoa curry will do me for a couple of days the week after.
Hope everyone has a good Saturday
