Quite my groupon toilet roll finally arrived today. Ordered 6 August. Groupon were so unhelpful in the interim though I'm probably not going to order anything from them again.

WreckTangled · 17/09/2018 19:08

That's annoying mammy mine came quite quickly

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/09/2018 19:44

Le yum mammy. Going to get peanut butter as run out.

£25 milk bill, £26 skate park event, registration fee and weekly fee, £8.04 bastard stamps, £6 boots in points,

QuitelovesStrictly · 17/09/2018 19:53

Annoying .
Laughing at ems bastard stamps BlushGrin

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/09/2018 19:58

Just watched the trailer for Mary Poppins returns. Hmm one step too far I think...

Lovemaltesers · 17/09/2018 20:00

Thanks for the code the other day em

I just can't keep up at the moment Sad

Frugal wins this weekend were free cooking apples from a teacher at work and DP made some extra shelves for the kitchen cupboard using the wood from an old wardrobe.

The DDs have given me their cold so I now have the back to school lurgy too

ememem84 · 17/09/2018 20:28

£5 post office. Posting eBay things. Have just packed up a few more things to sell tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be busy. 8am seminar on tax updates for trustees (thank god it comes with breakfast....I’ll be there until 1030). Then have to head to the other side of the island at lunch to check on my clients cars (he has a fleet....) and also have to pick up nappies for ds (ordered and paid for)

Then gym.

Have just looked at the house contract. Have a few queries so need to go back to our lawyer and ask the questions.

Nothing wierd thank goodness.

thistimenextsummer · 17/09/2018 20:51

Just.sat.down 😩 full on since 6am and absolutely pooped. NSD though.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 17/09/2018 21:00

Maybe because I'm ROI?

ememem84 · 17/09/2018 21:00

Have to sort out my standing orders too. Need to send obey to my new current ac then onto my new savings account leaving enough in current account. Plus build up savings pot again.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 17/09/2018 21:01

My sister said when I told her 'ye must sh*te a lot'
She's not a frugaleer yet Grin

TinkysWinky · 17/09/2018 21:05

evening all, i have a fair bit to catch up on!

wasnt working today so did boring but practical stuff - tidied out garage and 2x runs to skip, food shopping (without any kids as both now at school, hang in there guys with toddlers it does happen in the end!) £48, hoovered out car, sorted the outdoor toys and moved the toys into the newly tidy garage for the winter. Horrid weather here this evening, next stop is ordering some coal for the fire and getting the chimney swept as autumn is in full swing!

2 for £7 on tubs of chocs at tescos so I have foolishly bought two to 'put away' aka eat before xmas and replace Grin

We had gammon, roasties, veg and yorkshires for tea went down well all round. I feel like I do better as a mum on days I am at home eg cooking a proper meal, tomorrow I will be running round like a headless chicken and dinner will no doubt be something breaded from the freezer Shock

Wish I could be at home for them all the time but needs must

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 17/09/2018 21:06

Such a long day! NSD though and lonelys flapjack is the bees knees, thank you for the recipe.

TinkysWinky · 17/09/2018 21:06

Oh I forgot, £10 at butchers.
And £36 on petrol

quite a spendy day overall then lol Blush

WreckTangled · 17/09/2018 21:07

Probably mammy. Really annoying for you.

ememem84 · 17/09/2018 21:20

Pinteresting now. Yay. And half heartedly watching ozark on Netflix. Also in bed. Eating a cornetto. #decadent

My new eye mask arrived today. It is so soft. Silky and memory foamy and bugger than my old one so I’ll get a decent black out (Dm insists on the landing light being on until everyone is in bed - fair enough her house- but we have to leave our door open for catface (otherwise she bowls and scratches...so eye mask blocks the light))

WreckTangled · 17/09/2018 21:25

We have to leave the landing light on for the dc in case one needs to wee in the night Grin we have our bedroom door closed though because WreckCat is not welcome in our bed.

Poor dd is poorly hoping she will be perkier in the morning.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 17/09/2018 21:27

Tinkywinky fri week and the mon after will be my first days off work with both dc at school Grin
Never had yorkies with gammon, always chicken or beef might try them next time, was going to cook gammon in my slow cooker tomo.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 17/09/2018 21:29

Dc have a lamp on in their room but all other lights are off, funnily they can find their way in dark to my room Grin

WreckTangled · 17/09/2018 21:30

We have yorkies with everything: sausages, shepherds pie, chicken. Basically anything you can have gravy with Grin

CurlsandCurves · 17/09/2018 21:51

Can’t beat a good Yorkshire, goes with anything!

However I cannot successfully cook them myself. I’ve tried, I really have, but to no avail.

Has anyone ever got over their inability to cook good Yorkies?

mammynowanauntyIRL · 17/09/2018 22:19

I think the key is getting the pan really hot, this is probably why ds's are better because pan is heating for longer while he cracks eggs fishes out shells etc.

I only have gravy with chicken or beef though

LonelyOversharer · 17/09/2018 23:05

curls Marco Pierre White: by volume (any size, I generally do a cup, but there's 6 of us) plain flour, milk, eggs. Pinch of salt. In your best non stick (pyrex is ace for a biggie), plenty of veg oil, very hot oven. Heat oil, pour in, it will sizzle like mad (put bun tins on a baking tray or they slosh), straight in oven. Keep the door closed! I check after 15 mins or so, longer for a big one. Promise this works! A cup is about 5 eggs I think, just keep breaking them in till it's full!

Very tired today. Spent £11 in sainsburys after work, dp was going to feed us tinned hotdogs I bought them for the dogs but 2/6 of us would eat them. How did dp not even know this? (Or cook any of the 8 bits of meat in the freezer?). £10 cash for dd1 after school snacks, she's hanging around waiting for me to finish work all week as there are only 4 seats per car.

Ebay is going well, listed lights and wintery stuff. Must crack on and list more. Current paypal £327. Half way to Center Parcs.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 18/09/2018 05:32

Recipe with a difference-might help us over the winter with snuffly heads.

That looks worth a try mammy.
I'm up early with the dts so have caught up a bit and I want Yorkshires now! They are OK for breakfast, right? No different to pancakes really!
