I bet they were good Fluffy

mammynowanauntyIRL · 16/09/2018 20:37

I show you pics tomo wolf they're yummy. First time using powdered peanut butter in a recipe & it's brilliant. Full on nutty flavour.

Ds makes better Yorkies than me, he's only 4 Smile

ememem84 · 16/09/2018 20:40

£20 ish in eBay sales. Yay. Post office in the next couple of days then!!

cag please pm me your address and I’ll post off DD’s Dino Tshirt too.

Cagliostro · 16/09/2018 20:53

Ooh yes thank you em sorry I have been very behind on things. I have given up trying to keep with any of my regular threads for now 😖😳

Pop n tiff sounds so cute. It’s lovely to have family traditions like that, and now you can pass it on to DS someday (but maybe without the cassis just yet :o)

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/09/2018 21:35

I've costed the Yorkshires at about 20p for 8. I'm going to make double and freeze half the batter.

Asda and Lidl are doing 4pts of organic milk for £1.50. It's not a bad price.

Free shampoo and conditioner in boots.

ChristmasSeacow · 16/09/2018 23:13

Powdered peanut butter, Mammy? Spill the beans!

Cagliostro · 17/09/2018 00:48

Sigh! Can’t sleep. Cagletini finally dropped off properly after I got about 2ml of tixylix down her 🙄 thought her cough was getting better but nope.

Can’t believe we are halfway through September already. And we are really officially into term time now (we took a gentle start due to having the little trip away last week).

I am very excited and have lots of things to arrange. Without burnout. Must remember that bit 🤔😂

Why does not being able to sleep make me want to go and spend money on Amazon? Oh that reminds me we watched some more shop well for less earlier. The Caglets were aghast. The one where they were doing over 30 online shops a month... WTF! And letting the 8yo click away ordering stuff. I thought DD might be a bit jealous 😂 but she was horrified.

Fuck, I’m rambling sorry :o

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/09/2018 06:16

Hope you get some sleep cag. are you ok?

Have to buy stamps today. Also £20 on a scooter event ticket

mammynowanauntyIRL · 17/09/2018 06:23

It comes in a plastic jar seacow I got mine on one of the Aldi specials it's lower in fat but also easier for portion control because you mix it with water to spread so no going back for an extra spoon! Lots of American recipes use it, pb10 I think it's called mines called pbfit & I've choc flavour & regular but being honest I can't taste any difference.

Cag isn't it great that your dc are aware that these people are off the wall spending!

I've spread out my blackberries on greaseproof paper to freeze so going to put another batch into freezer this morning.

It's my friend at works birthday so going to buy scones for our break, she's very fussy otherwise I'd have made some.

ememem84 · 17/09/2018 06:43

cag I hope cagletini feels better. Have you tried vicks (or snuffle rub) on her feet at night time? We also put a bowl of boiling water in ds’ room (out of his reach obviously) when he had a cough as we don’t have a humidifier. Apparently this helps....

mammy dh bought the powdered peanut butter stuff. I wasn’t convinced initially but it was nice for stir fries - made a nice quick satay sauce - and worked really well in cake frosting.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/09/2018 06:59

Cag I think tixylix might just be glycerine syrup. You can buy blackcurrant flavoured glycerine really cheap next time you need to get some.

That's why nhs advice is to use honey and lemon instead, but I think she's too young for honey at the moment. I think it's babies over 12 months for honey.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 17/09/2018 07:02

Em I must try it for satay sauce, maybe slow cooker peanut butter chicken.
I wasn't convinced and it definitely hadn't the same texture on crackers but pb & banana sandwich it does job perfectly.

Never thought of the vicks on my feet all weekend Sad I'm much better now, good long sleep last night.

My personal account has €1 in it until payday, I thought my fuel was €59.98 but it was €58.98 Grin

mammynowanauntyIRL · 17/09/2018 07:11

They didn't have the scones I wanted ready so had to buy a bag of scones €4.20 Sad

SummerDaize · 17/09/2018 07:27

Ds and I strapped on our courage last night and went to the orchestra again. Ds did a terrific job and has a new French horn friend. I couldn't get my clarinet to make a single noise for 50 minutes, and then I realised the reed was split. I changed it and then it started to work, for the remaining ten minutes. I also have a clarinet friend now.

It was really hard to figure out what the instrument was doing when I was surrounded by loud noise. The only feedback I got on whether it was playing at all was if the reed started to buzz against my lip, and then I couldn't hear whether it was make a good noise unless I blew hard enough so that every one else could hear too (Eeep!). Anyway, I have plenty of stuff to practise this week now:

  1. getting the instrument to play at all, whilst deaf.
  2. That's it really.
SummerDaize · 17/09/2018 07:28

That was £80 for term fees, to run until Christmas.

Wolfcub · 17/09/2018 07:33

Morning frugal folk. £36 last night of christening present other than that and the Ocado shop it was a no spend day. Today should be a no spend day too if you don’t count sponsorship money for ds £10

Mammy i saw the peanut butter powder in Sainsbury’s on Friday. It sounds like it might be good for cookies. Mmm

Cag I hope Cagletini is feeling a bit brighter this morning.

Minestrone in the slow cooker Smile

Justanothermile · 17/09/2018 08:29

Hope it's okay wreck.

I'd never even heard of powdered peanut butterBlush, but willing to give it a go!

girlie, here's the sizing label. In addition, DD is 5ft 1 and a slim but not skinny build if that helps.

Right, must bugger off to work. Today will be a lsd, I need fresh veg from the feed shop, could have stretched until tomorrow but they are closed Tuesdays.

Lemon risotto for tea tonight. Cheap and easy.

Justanothermile · 17/09/2018 08:31

em, we did the steaming bowl of water trick, DS used to suffer with croup when he was small. The most awful sound in the world I always used at the time.

Justanothermile · 17/09/2018 08:32

Bloody phone, sorry.

Cagliostro · 17/09/2018 09:48

Ooh I might try the powdered peanut butter. DS refuses regular nutty stuff but I have been known to mix a little ground almond with yoghurt etc as it is so bloody hard to get decent protein into him.

Thanks I forgot about the vicks on feet thing. Must try it! I ended up on the sofa with her although she spent part of the night asleep on the carpet 🤔 😳 yes too young for honey until 1yo due to botulism risk (that and whole nuts are basically the only things I don’t let her have). We do have a vaporiser thing but I don’t know if it actually worked. It didn’t seem to make the room smell or anything but I’m not sure what it is supposed to look/smell like as I’ve never had one.

I’m ok thanks life just a little overwhelmed with everything that needs doing with sorting the house, home ed etc! But optimistic especially as a lot of home ed parents are in the same boat (kids getting older and ready, after similar or worse traumatic experiences at school, to try a bit more structure etc) so we will be teaming up and working together which is exciting!

Cagliostro · 17/09/2018 09:52

How are you doing life I meant to add!

ememem84 · 17/09/2018 10:12

We have a plug in diffuser thing for ds. It sends catface bonkers. It also has a light on it which is brighter than the actual sun.

Should be lsd today.

Lunch brought in.
Appointment at Lloyd’s at lunchtime.
Post office trip to post some eBay sales.

I’ve had a pack up lunch now for two whole weeks. Woooo
