Holy moly, just checked my paypal. I have been transferring postage money (and bought some naughty yarn), but there is still £285 in there. Cool. Thankyou ebay. If I can double that we can go to Center Parks for the 3 days before Christmas!

Lovemaltesers · 14/09/2018 17:26

Would have been a NSD but DP has just ordered dominos pizza Blush It has been a long week

I got described as having a bubbly personality today Shock I genuinely have no idea how anyone could describe me like that. Quiet, helpful, non-moaner (I save that for here!) perhaps. Ha ha!

Pizza is here! Back later

WreckTangled · 14/09/2018 17:41

Born today I am day off ergo housework day!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 14/09/2018 17:51

I'm good thanks & have had a nsd up to now, no parking meter at courthouse and I was too late to buy a pay & display disc. It's a festival time in that town so I knew I'd be ok!

TinkysWinky · 14/09/2018 17:58

guys, will update properly later, but meadow there is a frugal quick and safe way to do bottles -

you need 2 sets of bottles
a flask for night time
a powder dispenser with compartments in

say, for example, you are making up 5oz bottles

sterilise bottle set 1, fill each with 3oz of boiling water, seal and chill = cool boiled sterile water

sterilise set 2 and leave empty

prep powder dispenser with 5 scoops in each compartment

when bottle required -

2oz boiling water (from flask at night time) into empty sterile bottle. Add the 5oz powder and dissolve -sterilises powder. Then top up with your 3oz of chilled sterile boiled water and shake.

et voila. perfect temp bottle in under a minute. all sterile and safe. no perfect prep machine or premade formula needed Grin

TinkysWinky · 14/09/2018 18:00

when out and about we took flask, dispenser and a few of each bottles. fair bit to carry but just makes it so quick

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/09/2018 18:04

That would be wonderful Lonely.

Quite mine is an asda one.

The golden syrup tastes more like tate and lyles today.

ChristmasSeacow · 14/09/2018 19:04

I did similar to Tinky when DS was a baby, just couldn’t keep ahead enough with baby dd when toilet training DS at the same time not supermum here Grin. Each to her own but I really wouldn’t advise making up a warm bottle and keeping it warm... it’s a perfect medium for growing bacteria, hence they say milk should be discarded after an hour.

One thing that I would recommend is gradually getting dd used to drinking milk at room temperature. Both of mine got used to it really easily and that meant that I could make up milk with cooled boiled water at room temperature and they took it happily. It also meant I could open pre-made formula when out and about and not worry about warming it. They don’t need it warm, it’s simply a matter of what they are used to. If you want to make up bottles from pre-measure formula for speed I have two if those compartment things that you can measure powder into - you’re welcome to have them, I can stick them in the post.

Well, DS got through his first after-school club okay (although his class LSA stayed with him - above and beyond the call of duty!) but he’s been highly agitated ever since I picked him up. Lots of screeching, lots of lining up toys. We’ll have to see how it goes. I need to stretch him socially but don’t want him to be properly stressed and unhappy. We’ll try another couple of weeks and re-assess.

Wreck your house is so tidy! Mine only looks like that when the in-laws are due to visit Wink

QuitelovesStrictly · 14/09/2018 19:30

Ive just had it out of the box ,its really nice fluffy
Really heavy crock.
My other one is huge and it kills my shoulder getting it out .
Good for big joints of meat though.

WreckTangled · 14/09/2018 19:32

We've got that Batman cup too wreck love your tv unit.

My ds is super stressed tonight sea end of long week at school, doesn't know what he wants to eat, decided on wrap pizzas, pepperoni, we've got kids wraps or bigger ones with seeds in, he wants a big plain wrap, we don't have them, now he doesn't like pepperoni Hmm bed is calling all of us.

Bad mother alert, he plugged in the iron & touched his finger off it, then blamed me because I left it out, suppose he's right but how did he know it was me left it out, I use the iron probably 5 times a year ShockBlush

H is not here, never let me know just assumed I'd be home to take care of dc. Angry I am but it's bloody common courtesy

I've to work in the morning, I might just afford him the same courtesy & head off without a word. He can get in touch & take dc to me if he's bothered.

Cagliostro · 14/09/2018 19:43

That’s more like my house all over.

Ugh feel like death warmed up. Going to attempt an Epsom salt bath if I can get up the stairs

WreckTangled · 14/09/2018 19:45

Mammy they're the best happy meal toy ever! Poor ds I really hope things start looking up for you all soon

mammynowanauntyIRL · 14/09/2018 19:47

I always filled bottles with boiling water & left to cool and added powder at room temperature when they were over the first few weeks. Heated bottles are a habit, childminder had ds in that habit when I was breastfeeding, when i moved to bottles I cut it out!

Dsil who I love dearly takes out the next bottle from fridge to warm up when she starts the previous feed, dniece is healthy and hasn't harmed her. I mentioned the safety guidelines as I felt I'd a duty to

WreckTangled · 14/09/2018 19:53

We were told to do that when we left scbu with dd mammy but actually you're meant to add it to water at =/>70 degrees to kill the bacteria that is in the formula.

Bornlazy · 14/09/2018 20:13

Made chicken curry and then rice in my pressure cooker earlier and the rice was almost perfect. I've got flap jacks in the oven just now as both ds can't get enough of them. These ones are the poster SoupDragon's recipe and have condensed milk in them. Will make some of Lonely's tomorrow.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 14/09/2018 20:33

Ooh flapjacks, might put them on as a weekend treat with my two.

I'm heading to bed with hot water bottle in a few minutes

ememem84 · 14/09/2018 22:39

Ds “read” mog the cat to me this evening. We lay in the living room floor and he pointed at the pictures and babbled away.

Catface made a lot of noise around dinner time (ours. Not hers) meowing round the table. Turns out she’s been frightened (probably by me) while she was having a poop in her box. And some of it had come out with her onto the carpet. And she was alerting me to this. Good girl. (Although ddad wasn’t too happy...)

Picked dh up from his do just now.

ChristmasSeacow · 15/09/2018 00:04

Phew Wreck, I feel much better now! Grin

thistimenextsummer · 15/09/2018 06:46

Morning! I've been awake for hours, not sure why as the kids actually slept in til 6.30 this morning - a rare treat!
In this time I've filled my amazon basket and almost bought a soup maker Shock! Must resist!!

WreckTangled · 15/09/2018 06:56

This just seen on the bargain thread there's a soup maker in the curry's sale.

thistimenextsummer · 15/09/2018 07:10

Wreck that's what started me searching 😂 ! I do actually think I need one as we try to have soup once a week as a 'cheap' meal but more often than not I'm buying tubs to save time and that is not frugal

WreckTangled · 15/09/2018 07:41

Can you get enough for four servings in a soup maker? That's what's putting me off plus the fact that I have no money Grin

Jam have you done minestrone in the slow cooker before?

I'm working in the toy shop today. Have got 21 balloons to do 🎈Shock

Cagliostro · 15/09/2018 07:52

Mine does two generous servings. I haven’t used it since we moved here. I’m the only one who eats most types of soup 🤦‍♀️ What I need to do is get a Tupperware pot to put the second half in the fridge for the next day.

I would love to make minestrone, does anyone have a reeeeally simple recipe please?

WreckTangled · 15/09/2018 07:53

Hmm see we all love soup so I would need one that makes enough for all of us. Cag I know jam always used the JO recipe which is what's I'm going to use.
