Morning!
Aaaah 9 hours sleep Blush

Wreck
I got the slightly larger soup maker £48 ish model 48222
It has 1.6 litre capacity -6 portions .
I think there is a slightly smaller 4 portion one going for about £39.99 .
However I found that mine made exactly 4 standard soup cups at the max fill level so would go for the bigger one.

QuitelovesStrictly · 15/09/2018 08:12

Sorry mine is the Morphy Richards one .

mammynowanauntyIRL · 15/09/2018 08:20

cag no tupperware - I just can't fathom it! I could sell tubs but never have the one I want when I need it!

At work now so that should boost my earnings this week. Fingers crossed I'll also get my compo from booking.com too.

QuitelovesStrictly · 15/09/2018 08:22

Asda has nice sturdy soup cups essentially Sistema rip off at £1.

ememem84 · 15/09/2018 08:55

No soup maker here. It always sounds like a great idea until I remember it doesn’t chop the stuff or wash itself up #lazy

Up early here. Nz vs sa rugby. Ds likes the haaka. We’ve been winding dh up by cheering on sa....! And also cheering on “everyone” “everyone’s a winner! Yay rugby!”

Nz are playing England in November at twickenham. I briefly contemplated getting tickets. Then realised the cost of flights hotel etc. So maybe we’ll just watch on the tv.

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/09/2018 09:07

No soup maker here. Slow cooker or a giant IKEA stock pot. Neither are fast though.

Love the TV unit wreck. Might go to IKEA today as we are nearby at decathlon.

DS birthday bike and dd horse stuff. What the minimum I need hat, boots, gloves, jodhpurs? Jam em any other horsey ones whose names escape me.

Hi everyone else. Reading when I can.

End of a long and stressful week here. No let up for the next few either.
Ducked out of travel next week but might have an overnighter in London the 25th.

northender · 15/09/2018 09:10

A day late, but happy birthday to your ds jam. Sounds like a successful shopping trip. Is he looking forward to uni? I drove past his uni every day last week when I was going to my training in Lancaster at the old teacher training college, now part of University of Cumbria. He definitely needs to know about Wallings ice cream, it's pretty legendary round here and the farm where it's made is a short drive from the Uni & has a shop/ice cream parlour. Perfect for when you visit!
lonely that's a great PayPal stash
Em nasty comments about the nursery, ignore.
Meadow it sounds like you're doing really well, being a parent is sooooo tough. If someone appears to be finding it a breeze then they're lying!

Having an unfrugal few days here with the pil. I'm struggling to juggle everything at the moment. I think I'd be okay, but one of my team of three at work is not performing well and needing to be performance managed. In addition to the extra work of doing that, it also means I can't delegate to her at the moment so I just haven't got enough hours in a day. Fortunately I've got a fantastic team coordinator who is really supportive which makes a huge difference.
Dd is recovering well from her life threatening cold Grin, once a drama queen, always a drama queen!
Ds had yesterday off college & by the end of a day in bed his temperature & fatigue had resolved. It seems to me like he has some sort of fatigue problem after all his recent illnesses. He's managed over the summer by playing cricket & not doing much in between, but college seems to have been a bit much and his body has reacted. Hopefully these episodes will just keep being less frequent. I've booked a GP appointment for him just to check there's nothing I'm missing. I feel sorry for him as he's really fed up of it all and its all at a difficult age, but we keep very positive and don't let him dwell on it all too much, he has plenty of positives to focus on. Spoke to his tutor at college and they are fine so long as he keeps up with the work.
Hope everyone has a good weekend, it's still raining here, forecast to clear up later.

ememem84 · 15/09/2018 09:15

Does anyone (any regulars) use Ocado or hello fresh.

I’ve got two 30% vouchers for Ocado and a £40 off hello fresh if anyone wants.

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/09/2018 09:16

Happy birthday jam DS

Lonely pm me the name of your Etsy shop please

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/09/2018 09:18

Em re the nursery comments -they are clearly not funny for the nursery but are hilarious - someone has too much time and envy on their hands. I would say thank you for recognition of my success, loser

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/09/2018 09:20

Meadow - you are doing a fabjob there

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 15/09/2018 09:26

I keep losing posts! Very annoying.

Anyway all okay here, dd on the mend I think and I'm not too bad, slowly getting there with my back at long last.

We have a dog here for the wend, dd is delighted, she is an a scruffy medium sized terrier and good fun to play with! Plan today is to take dd horse riding and then to take the dog for a walk.

No spends planned....

Ystd ended up spending £12 on dog toys/treats and bird food.

north hope your ds is okay, have they checked all his bloods etc?

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/09/2018 09:39

www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/vegan-yorkshire-puddings I made these last night, tasted really, really nice. Even dh approved. They don't rise as high but if you used cows milk they might rise more. Also I only put a little batter in each section so I think I needed more. But so, so cheap.

£15 lidl
£8 Sainsburys
£2.50 Iceland
59p homebargains for Tupperware.

The menstrual cup is a success. I only change it once a day and there's no leaking. It's like I'm not even on.

Bornlazy · 15/09/2018 09:46

Wreck my soup maker is a 1.6 litre too and it does 4 servings but not really any more than that ( luckily there are only 4 of us) Quite is this your one?

Wolfcub · 15/09/2018 09:55

Argh you’ve got me looking at soup makers. I notice there’s a tefal one that makes 3 litres! I don’t think I’d eat that much soup in a month

Lovemaltesers · 15/09/2018 09:57

I use Ocado em if you still have a spare code please

QuitelovesStrictly · 15/09/2018 10:06

Yes it is Born
Not sure what the difference is then?
I was looking at the compact one I think.
1 litre .

The £35 ish one has "serrator blade"in the description so maybe thats the difference but I have no idea what that means?😂

ememem84 · 15/09/2018 10:07

love have pm you.

Bagged up some eBay sales this morning. Ds is now napping.

Jobs today:

Post office
Riding £30
Pick up nappy order
Come home and cry at ds’ new haircut. 😭
Go get eyes tested and new glasses - this is potentially spendy. I’m absolutely going to ask them to put new lenses in my old frames as a second pair. Dm suggested not buying glasses from them but taking the prescription and getting them from boots. But it depends on the offers they have really (vision express).
Clean and tidy our rooms (ds’ and ours)
Put laundry away.

Wolfcub · 15/09/2018 10:21

Happy birthday Jam’s ds.
Em have you thought of taking the prescription and ordering online?
Meadow you are doing brilliantly I agree with whichever poster said anyone who says it’s all roses and unicorns is a bloody liar!
Need to find bondaweb today. Taking ds to his activity shortly so will look then. Will try not to buy anything else!
£10 at the pub last night £50 in Sainsbury’s yesterday on baking tins and picnic stuff for tomorrow £5 on fish and chips for lunch yesterday
I have had a lousy week both work and personal wise and am finding it very difficult to be cheerful. It may be time to get medicated which is not s good thought. Anyway I’ve lost track a little bit of what’s happening with you all I will catch up eventually Blush.

Bornlazy · 15/09/2018 10:23

Don’t know what the difference is Quite it’s a mystery 😆 I am going to make cauliflower and broccoli soup today if I can drag my lazy arse out of bed 😂.

Managed to reign myself in from buying dettol wipes that are a potential glitch on Amazon as I really don’t need them and would be buying them just because they are a bargain 😇

QuitelovesStrictly · 15/09/2018 10:29

I suspect the £48.99 is the newer model but it was £36 with my Sainsburys voucher anyway.
I was on the fence for ages but really happy with it.
Being able to chuck everything in and go off and come back to ready to eat soup in 21 minutes is brilliant .
I eat soup everyday so its a winner for me.
I love cauliflower soup 😛

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/09/2018 10:32

Someone who works in an opticians told me single vision lenses cost 20p each.

Bornlazy · 15/09/2018 10:34

Wolf sorry you are feeling so low. Hope you’re feeling more positive soon Flowers

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/09/2018 10:37

Morning all.
Was exhausted last night and had a migraine so went to bed early.
Jam, happy birthday to your ds for yesterday, hope he had a great day.

Shopping was delivered this morning £53, but will have to go to Lidl to get the cat his food and I forget the coffee.

QuitelovesStrictly · 15/09/2018 10:39

Oh Wolf Flowers
Regarding medication, presuming you mean ADs,my take on it is this.
Great if you can feel better with support, diet, exercise ,however sometimes a period of meds is required so that you can be well enough to do the above Smile
