Thanks Wreck, I did think it would be ok, but still a bit nervous about it all Smile

Laska5772 · 31/08/2018 08:55

Also remember you will have loft.. (however ours is completely empty. neither of us have never even been up there, just poked our heads through ). We do have eaves cupboards as its a chalet , but of those only one has anything more than our suitcases in and toys for DGcs and travel cot /car seat (I must sell that travel cot ) . And even that's pretty empty .

So its about what you have and what you may want to store rather than use much anyway..

( and if you are not using it, why are you keeping it?)

Has the house got fitted wardrobes? youll be amazed how much space that saves

Cagliostro · 31/08/2018 08:59

Tricky em are you able to view it again? Take tape measures and notebook etc?

and if you are not using it, why are you keeping it?
This is my mantra laska I am finally learning. So much that it doesn’t even bother me we aren’t allowed to use our attic. The only thing that would live up there is Christmas stuff (will go in the shed instead)

Errands to do today. CBA

lilly as Ive never made DH breakfast once in our entire marriage I certainly wont get one !Grin
In fact we all just get our own- I thought everyone did once the DC were old enough.
Do people sit around the table eating breakfast together ?
The thought of having to see/listen to my lot eating at that time in the morning .
Shudder .

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 31/08/2018 09:24

quite 😂 breakfast in this house is a sort yourself out affair.

em I remember having the same panic before I bought my house, can you go and have another look at the house? Sometimes measurements on paper aren't the same as looking with your own eyes. We still def got more space though, the only room that was smaller was the kitchen (bye bye dishwasher 😢)

cag there's is all sorts of crap in our loft including a 6 man tent!! I must sort it out at some point! !

We're pottering on here, waiting for the dr to ring me back and see what he says about work next week.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 31/08/2018 09:40

and if you are not using it, why are you keeping it?
This is going to my mantra as I sift through our house.

Wolfcub · 31/08/2018 09:58

I need to apply that mantra to more things although I have dumped quite a lot of things in the last 4 months! It’s cathartic

Wolfcub · 31/08/2018 10:14

Phew banking app bank back on line. I have shuffled my money into its various pots. Paid an extra £5 on one credit card and and extra £30 off another - the 30 is a planned and budgeted extra payment to make sure I pay the card off before the interest free period ends.
Put my annual bonus in my savings, will probably have to funnel this either to a new outside door which is badly needed or divorce costs so resisting frivolous spends

mammynowanauntyIRL · 31/08/2018 10:18

wolf its horrible when banking app is offline when you want to do something like that.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 31/08/2018 10:28

if you are not using it, why are you keeping it?
This is going to be my new mantra too.
And I'm going to repeat it to dp every time he questions why I'm getting rid!

At the cinema with dd2 waiting to watch Sherlock Gnomes.

TakeItSlow · 31/08/2018 10:34

My coat situation is interesting because the weather here is dry and cold so I can look foxy and be warm at the same time, even our of doors for hours in the winter, which is rather nice. It's a bit like Canadian weather here. I'm so tempted by the Barbour coat. Much pondering.

Also I love the Ecco long boots, but they cost so much. Maybe just have no other clothes? Grin

CurlsandCurves · 31/08/2018 10:42

Hello, I’m back!

Got home early hours of this morning and predictably DS2 was up at 8, so excited to be able to play Fortnite again after a whole fortnight away from it!

Had a lovely relaxing holiday, also lots of time to think and plan. While we were away the remortgage went through so we need to see how much of the lump sum we will have left once we’ve done all we need to do with it. Our accountants have been in touch to say that the books are pretty much done and we should be due a small rebate, which is great. Believe it when I see it tho!

Today i will be mostly unpacking, washing and food shopping as we have nothing in at all.

TakeItSlow · 31/08/2018 10:46

I've got to drive to a town I've never been to, to pick up ds's French horn today. It feels like going to Mars, but isn't really. I'm feeling super-brave though after doing similar yesterday so I'm off to have a go.

Girlie how are you getting on now?

ememem84 · 31/08/2018 11:37

Going to look on Monday again. With tape measure and notebook.

I have the measurements. It’s a total of 200sqft bigger than our apartment.

A lot of it is me not remembering. There are no fitted wardrobes. So did they have freestanding? I can’t remember.

We could extend downstairs out back. But we’d lose some garden. But it could be a pay off in time.

We have a loft. And a garage for storage. So I suppose as long as we kitted it out properly. We’d be ok. However. Need another look. It could be that by moving a bed in the bedroom we’d be able to fit things in. Etc.

Sigh.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 31/08/2018 12:01

So spoke to my dr, the x ray shows changes in the c5 c6 bit of my neck 😕 am being given ref to orthopaedics. Bit upset as that's not what you want to hear but at least I know what's causing the pain now. Can go back to work on light duties....

Thatsnotmybookworm · 31/08/2018 12:29

Another coat lover here so very interesting to read about everyone else's!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 31/08/2018 12:49

girlie sorry to hear that. Is it possible to adjust your work to light duties, you visit people in their homes right?

TakeItSlow · 31/08/2018 13:27

Girlie I'm really sorry to hear that. At least they know what the problem is I suppose. Take it easy there. I hope they can help in orthopaedics.

ChristmasSeacow · 31/08/2018 13:28

What might the implications be Girlie? Apologies for my ignorance Sad.

£216 in Ikea Shock. Checkout lady asked if I was doing the whole house. Mostly storage stuff and some replacement kitchen bits. But a hammer peg toy thingy and a play tunnel for dd too.

I am now queuing for DS’s uniform on a strange industrial estate. I’m not sure I’m parked legally, fingers crossed no ticket or it will be very expensive uniform!

Cagliostro · 31/08/2018 13:31

Oh bugger girlie :(

Played Valence Plus wolf it’s good, will definitely have great educational value once we’ve got used to the actual play, there were a few elements (no pun intended 🙄🤪) I felt weren’t fully explained by the rules but hopefully we will get used to it after a few more goes. DS is very happy with it. Also I’m chuffed as the characters are named after scientists, one is Davy, as in Humphry Davy who I am apparently related to 🤓

Quiet morning tidying, DH and DS are off to see Ant Man and the Wasp, his first ‘grown up’ cinema film IYSWIM. Wasn’t organised enough to use clubcard tokens (as no printer) but there are loads of other films we want to see soon anyway. DD is going to an ice skating and sleepover party, when she’s collected I’ll go into town as I really need my blood tests done before I see the endocrinologist. Will pick up a few bits in town as well depending how baby is behaving.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 31/08/2018 13:31

Girlie sorry to hear that, hopefully now they know what's wrong, you can have a plan of action?

Cagliostro · 31/08/2018 13:35

Ooh seacow please report back on the play tunnel. I bought some ball pit balls yesterday to put in her play pen (not that I’ve ordered said play pen yet). I like those tunnel things.

Have you seen the new Nutmeg stuff in Morrisons, I love the new wildlife stuff with badgers and puffins etc. It’s all in the baby boy section for some reason 🙄 but it is ridiculously cute. I think a lot of Cagletini’s 12-18m stuff will come from there.

lillylollylandy · 31/08/2018 13:38

Girlie sorry to hear your news. Hopefully the consultant will be able to see you quickly and come up with a plan.

Quite my DC are 6, 3 and 20 Months so unfortunately we still have to organise their meals! DH cooks the evening meal so I'm getting off quite lightly with only having to chuck some oats and milk into the instant pot Smile

Catsandbootsandbootsandcats · 31/08/2018 14:11

Hello! I have name changed again.

I have £26 to last till Tuesday. We have food though, so I can feed the hordes. And I do have £200 in savings which I can transfer if really needed, though trying to save (not very well!) Maybe my ex will turn up with some child maintenance? Oh, there's a pig flying by!

Spent £65 at Pizza Hut yesterday as it was a lovely little boy's birthday. Then went bowling after which was £13 I think.

Back to school next week, but they're all fine for uniform thankfully. The holiday sees to have gone so quick. Not looking forward to the early mornings!

Also might need to buy a new TV soon as ours is slowly refusing to turn on. It takes multiple goes before it decides to work. And one speaker hasn't worked for ages. It's about 10 years old now. Any recommendations for best places to buy? Obviously will have to save more money, but will start searching now. Nothing fancy, basic tv!

QuitelovesStrictly · 31/08/2018 14:13

Oh haha yes I can see that lilly Grin mine are virtually adults

I would do breakfast for DC but eat mine in peace once they were at school .
At about 6/7 DC started to get their own-laid out on the counter and they rather liked doing this Smile
I much prefer eating alone and I know it goes in the face of all the MN jolly meals around the table stuff but interestingly my DC are all great eaters-eat anything and no fussiness.
I do sometimes wonder if some DC would eat better if they were left to choose and get on with it.

Take I had Ecco boots and they lasted years, pretty functional but so comfy.

Am I the only one who hears Foxy and in my head Garth from Waynes World says Faaaaaaaxeeey !!!😂😂😂
Ill get me coat !
