Angry so either h has been spending money out of the joint (now my) account or I’ve had my card cleaned. Waiting for him to text me back to find out Angry

ChristmasSeacow · 22/08/2018 07:38

I used to use Lancone micellar make up remover. For years. I now use a cheap one and can honestly not tell any difference at all! Can you return it Em? If not I guess you’ll just have to enjoy it.

Snuggly Flowers. Been there. Still have days like that though dd is usually up around 6am, which is almost civilised (DS was more like your DTs though). It’s utterly draining. Is DH working today so no nap for you either? Sad

Wandering around Durham today. Two more sleeps till we go home! But eurgh... packing the car up...

ChristmasSeacow · 22/08/2018 07:39

Oh no Wolf. The latter might be better - card company should refund if it’s fraud?

TakeItSlow · 22/08/2018 07:45

Flappy it's the meat that makes the difference. Your £40 goes really far because you don't use a lot of meat. Well done! We spend a lot because we eat a lot of meat. Hum.

Wolfcub · 22/08/2018 07:51

Hmm so the transactions are ones h recognises but swears he didn’t use the card and couldn’t have accidentally got it out of his wallet. I have told him to ring the bank and sort it out Angry Angry

LonelyOversharer · 22/08/2018 07:51

wolf sending love x. It's that sickening agonising wait to see what has happened.

snuggly you poor thing. Plus side of twins though, this will pass all in one go, quickly. Not that helps you right now. My ds is 6, and I am the only one awake in the house, and the cat, but he's in a huff as it's raining and he needs to go out.

em my dp used to do that all the time when we had the shop. Price stuff up, then get busy, add something he really needed and checkout. Cue lots of pointless spends. At least it's something you'll use and enjoy, I had a pile of Shimano 105 front mech's I had to ebay!

LonelyOversharer · 22/08/2018 07:54

Uh oh, I smell something fishy then wolf If he recognises the spends, I'm afraid he spent the spends. He needs to put that money back. And you need to cancel his card.

WreckTangled · 22/08/2018 07:56

Oh no wolf if he is saying he recognises them it was definitely him. Otherwise he would just say 'definitely not me you'd best call the bank and get the card cancelled'.

Snuggly sorry you're up early again!

I'm working in the shop today. Will need to pay for parking and need fuel.

SnugglySnerd · 22/08/2018 07:57

Thanks. It was interesting this morning that normally both dts are up and I can doze on the settee while they play but this morning DD (who had been up in the night) slept an hour longer than ds and he didn't know what to do with himself except for climbing on me and whacking me with books! A benefit of twins I guess - they amuse each other.

Wolf that's awful. I hope it gets sorted quickly and you get your money back. Added stress you could do without Flowers

Laska5772 · 22/08/2018 09:11

Fell off the thread ..

ememem84 · 22/08/2018 09:43

It’s not too much of an issue really (aside from being annoyed at the over spend) as it is something that works well for me, and I do love it (just not the cost!). So will use it. Annoying though because I’d decided to try a cheaper brand. Hey ho.

Lesson learned. Don’t try and do online orders while everyone is firing questions at me.

Thatsnotmybookworm · 22/08/2018 10:14

@ememem84 I'm afraid I just can't feel too sorry for you being in possession of a beautiful new pot of Take the Day Off; it's such a lovely product Grin.

ememem84 · 22/08/2018 11:27

bookworm true.....! Haha.

Just had my nail appointment for today moved. So i have time to sort out the rest of dh’s birthday gifts. Yay.

It’s just as well the appointments moved actually during the move I’d ripped my left thumb nail and had to cut it. It’s far far too short. So another few days of growth will be beneficial!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 22/08/2018 11:36

Wolf, hope it all gets sorted quickly.

So yesterday dp started to sort some of his stuff out and the living room looks a bit better, it will take a while for it all to be sorted properly, but a dent has been made, so progress.
I will continue with the dcs room today.

Wolfcub · 22/08/2018 12:41

Rugby season is upon us so ridiculous spend on kit for ds as he has outgrown everything. Still need leg skins but he can brave the cold for a bit first

Thatsnotmybookworm · 22/08/2018 13:49

Spends today:

£4 lunch

ememem84 · 22/08/2018 14:13

Closed another savings account. I had about a million accounts. (At one point Hsbc were giving 6% and you could have as many accounts as you wished). Now there seems to be no point in having a load of accounts earning 0.1%. I’ve moved the money across to my “big” savings account and contacted the bank to close them.

Have closed my “penny saving account” but will continue to transfer the penny amounts to savings.

Spends £110 in jack wills on a duffle bag, soft pj bottoms/house pants, and two tshirts for dh for his birthday. And £8 in River island on a pair of sliders. The ugliest shoes known to man (after crocs). For his birthday. He wanted a pair. And I caved.

Have seen a delicious looking blazer in joules (burgundy with a navy satin lining), a super lovely wool coat in riverisland (mustard yellow pea coat) and some cute boots in joules. Sadly not for grown ups.

The Friendly Frugaleers- Autumn is on its way !
ScandiLady · 22/08/2018 16:01

Spent 44 in lidl. Did include 5 sets of underwear for dd1 and a play doh modelling set... Will see us through till mid next week so an ok spend...

Wolf, hope it all gets sorted quickly with the spends on the card...

ChristmasSeacow · 22/08/2018 18:00

£10 to get into Durham castle, £10 donation to the cathedral (voluntary but it was stunning so rude not to) and just shy of £20 on lunch in the cathedral cafe. We’ve only had two other lunches out in the last month, it’s been packed lunches all the way so feeling pretty good about that. However, DD threw the cheese sandwiches from her children’s meal on the floor in disgust and then ate all of DH’s peas and a good chunk of his spirally sausage (her bit of the mash also went on the floor Hmm). I was smug because she usually steals my lunch so this redressed the balance a bit. She didn’t even look at my quiche and coleslaw Wink. However, I was less smug when I realised I’d left all the rest of her lunch box in the cafe (and I had my eye on those quavers SadGrin).

Ooh, then £3 on a Little Miss Sunshine book - DS’s choice - for being very good all day, and £10 for a set of 100 Crayola crayons that I’ll put aside for his birthday next month. He’s currently obsessed with the book ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’, which admittedly is excellent, and has requested a birthday cake on this theme. Hmmm.

Durham gets a big fat tick from us, it was a lovely day. We’ve just realised we’ve seen two world heritage sites in two days. That prompted us to look at the list for the UK and now we have a big list of other places we want to go. Not even looking at the world list Grin

Justanothermile · 22/08/2018 18:06

Evening.

Apologies, lost track of the thread the last couple of days. A combination of work, and getting embroiled with university requirements have prevailed..

It's been a low spend few days overall in day to day spends.

We've decided to change the boiler though, that's going on 2 year interest free credit, just because the facility is there. Spreading big house updates over a number of years.

A tip for folk that used Ocado. When you check out, there's often flash sales for a variety of goods. Checkout, then edit your order. Most of my food items this week were actually available in the flash sale section and I knocked over £10 from my bill.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 22/08/2018 18:31

I'm very tired, had an early start as had to be out the house by 7am this morning as my friend was looking after dd but lives 45mins away. It has saved me £35 on not using the holiday club but flipping heck it's been a long day!!

On the sofa now and can't move!!

LonelyOversharer · 22/08/2018 19:02

Need to rant but not sure here is the right place. Family stuff. Ugh. Coupled with the fact that dp actually yelled at me when I got in, as I was "late". I went to the tip, the post office and the co-op, all of which he knew about. Turns out he had to go out to drop a bike off, and he had mismanaged his time. So yelling at me was a dick move.

Had a long chat to my mum, but she just takes responsibility for things that are absolutely not her fault.

WreckTangled · 22/08/2018 19:06

My dh is being a dick too (surprise surprise). I got home from work at 5:30, he's usually home about 5:20 but never mind. Mil was here looking after the dc. Mil goes home so I start dinner and have a tidy. The dc and I eat dinner, I clear away dinner, load the dishwasher, hoover the kitchen and dh finally walks in at 6:50. I felt sorry for him thinking he'd been really busy but no, he's been to the pub. It's only when I said (after five mins) oh you're late today that he told me. He doesn't even see a problem with not letting me know AngryAngry imagine if I had done that too?!

TakeItSlow · 22/08/2018 19:08

Sorry things are tricky lonely.

I saw a heron today, which was nice. I always like a heron.

Just £8.50 in town today.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 22/08/2018 19:20

Spends today €10.40 on lunch & snacks for my working day. Shock we didn't do a food shop this week so I don't feel a bit guilty.

Wreck my H did this all our married life Angry hopefully your Dh has lots of redeeming qualities? Did he sort out the laundry? Laundrygate happening here at present too, I'm getting stuff washed & dried but in a silent protest not folding & putting them away, basically I'm doing what H always does.

Lonely hopefully your dp sees that it was his own mistake & apologises, or will he just brush it under the carpet & act like it never happened?
