Sorry wolf that's awful. Hang in there.

Bornlazy · 27/04/2018 13:41

Wolf I am so sorry. Hopefully now at least he can get some help to deal with his feelings. You are doing an amazing job keeping it together in what sounds like a horrible situation. I hope you find the strength to keep doing it Flowers

mammynowanauntyIRL · 27/04/2018 14:40

wolf I'm so sorry to hear that about your ds, I hope he gets the help he needs now to put that behind him.

tayto that's a big event with your dd, hopefully it was just a once off though.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 27/04/2018 14:48

It's payday - woo hoo!! Going to be a tight month though as I didn't get my millage in on time so am £100 down on normal plus my tax credits have been reduced by £30 😣

Have worked out a rough budget and as long as I'm super sensible should be okay. ..

That said have been to aldi and spent £70!! I seem to be doing larger shops every 2 weeks at the moment plus £13 of that was on non food stuff.

I've put £15 on dds school dinner account.

laska you are such a lovely, caring mum. I know all about single parent guilt but actually I try really hard to not beat myself up about dds lack of a father, you can only do your best at the end of the day.

em enjoy your last few days of maternity leave, can't believe how fast that's gone.

We are off to sunny Southampton this wend to catch up with friends.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 27/04/2018 15:09

wolf has your ds been offered any counselling? Are the school being supportive?

tayto apparently children who lie have excellent imaginations, I think most kids tell a few whoppers at some point (I did 😶 and I'm very trustworthy now 😉)

CremeEggThief · 27/04/2018 16:11

Oh Wolf.Sad So sorry to hear that. At least he's getting the help he needs, but it's so frightening and exhausting for you both. Take care. X

CremeEggThief · 27/04/2018 16:14

Spends: £11.23, post office and £9.18 Asda.

LonelyOversharer · 27/04/2018 16:26

wolf Flowers your poor ds. I take it your ex has rather a lot to answer for here. It's shitty timing too as ds is going up to high school in September if I remember right? Which is stressful and disruptive in itself. You are being very stoic through this. Not that you have much choice I suspect.

My day has been very easy really. B&Q for plastic pipe, fittings and some bitumen for dp's leaky shed roof £27. Tesco £13, pastries, mince and a few more bits for dd1. I fed £3 worth of 5, 10 and 20p's into the self service till. Emptied some of the shrapnel out of my purse.

Pottering in the garden, and knitting. I have put the 4 seperated chickens (ex bats plus one black one) in with the others. Feathers are flying atm, but I think they will settle down. Two coops is a pita. Dp is making spag bol for tea, and I'll work all tonight. Up early to drop dd1 in Keswick tomorrow.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/04/2018 16:29

Wolf That's so shocking. Your poor boy.

NSD & a company called bean sent me a £5 Amazon voucher. I'll wait for my next media cell voucher and buy chrome switch covers.

WreckTangled · 27/04/2018 16:47

Wolf I'm so sorry Sad I hope ds has access to help.

Spendy day Blush
£68 primark I got two pairs of jeans, two tops, a cardigan, dd knickers and a maxi dress, ds socks and a t shirt
£16 next on a new bag (had a £10 voucher)
£8 something in five guys
£5.50 two coffees as my friend drove and paid parking.

ememem84 · 27/04/2018 16:50

Oh wolf I hope you’re ok and ds is getting the help he needs

Nsd so far. But man it’s been a tough day.

I feel awful. Headache earache sore throat etc. Dh at work. Ds crying most of the day because teething. Poor guy.

And to top it all off my oven door has just smashed. Ffs. Glass everywhere. So new oven tomorrow then.

LonelyOversharer · 27/04/2018 17:21

Thank goodness ds isn't crawling yet em, how did it smash? What a pest to sort out. But a plus for selling the flat, "now includes a brand new oven".

Dp sliced garlic into the sauce. Who does that? Apparently he always does. He has lived here for 9 years nearly, so I must of missed that. So now all I can smell is garlic.

Might have to pop out, out of wet fog food, coffee and almost milk.

ememem84 · 27/04/2018 17:28

lonely is just washed out chopping block and had it on the drying rack at the front. Washing machine is directly under draining board and went into a spin. Sending chopping block flying. I was about to put a sweet potato and some chicken into the oven to bake. So door was open and the chopping block got the oven door handle. And ripped it right off. Glass everywhere.

Luckily I was wearing shoes and also jumped back. A friend broke her foot when her chopping block fell on it...

Wolfcub · 27/04/2018 17:31

Bloody hell Em. I do think you can get replacement doors for some brands

Laska5772 · 27/04/2018 17:48

Oh Em my just happened oven disaster is not as bad as yours but , Its one of those days I think .. I just exploded a roasted aubergine as I was taking it out of my oven, luckily I wasn't anywhere near it , its a nasty mess in oven but it could have been a nasty burn also .

DS didnt hear even though they said today.. so assume he didnt get it and they are waiting for whoever did get it to confirm..but really bad form I reckon Sad

Laska5772 · 27/04/2018 17:49

Lonely you wouldn't like us then, we are Garlic City here! We even grow it! loads of it every year..Love garlic!

LonelyOversharer · 27/04/2018 18:03

I do like garlic, I just don't like seeing it in my tea Confused sounds stupid. I use a squeezy tube like tomato paste but garlic. I try to grow it too, the bulbs last year were microscopic, so I left them to grow again. This might not be how it is done. I couldn't manage it raw though!

Lucky escape for your toes then em

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/04/2018 18:03

How do you grow garlic? Does it take long?

I'd use eBay so close to moving Em, or a spare door.

Unescorted · 27/04/2018 18:43

I love garlic. Frugal Squeezy garlic.. chop it roughly sprinkle with salt and grind to a paste win he side of a sharp knife. Takes moments. You can freeze it or store in the fridge under oil. I have a recipe for 40 clove roast chicken... I might keep it for Halloween.

ememem84 · 27/04/2018 19:18

unescorted 40 clove chicken is delicious. It’s super sweet and juicy and ironically not super garlicky.

I’m in bed. Dh is Home. And I’ve had to beg him to take over with ds. Actual tears begging. Because while Dh has been ill with this cold bug for a week He’s been able to rest when he gets home, and at the weekends. And sleep. I’ve been doing everything and am run down and now feel awful.

I made sweet potato gnocchi for dinner with chicken tomato sauce.

Dh is going to buy a new oven tomorrow. He’s decided. I don’t care any more. The seal around the door has broken too so we may as well get new. My sis got a new one last week for around £180. So not super expensive.

Laska5772 · 27/04/2018 20:14

I think you need to be in the deep south to grow garlic sadly..IOW garlic is a thing we even have a festival! Disclaimer: DO NOT try the garlic ice cream or beer... it is foul!..My Danish BIL and his mates who are really into their beer and travel all over the EU t o sample it thought it was the worst thing ever

Laska5772 · 27/04/2018 20:16

... and it is, truly

Laska5772 · 27/04/2018 20:17

[yuk]

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/04/2018 20:43

Nsd

Lucky escape there em for your feet. Gws.

Wolf, you are doing amazing. You and ds both need extra support. Are there professionals you can call on for ds?.

Mmm garlic.

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/04/2018 20:48
