Maybe I should try the chicken to celebrate IoW day. I will defer to your superior knowledge laska and leave the ice cream to the kids and the beer to anyone else daft enough to try it. Could it be remarketed as a trap for vampire slugs.

Wolf how stressful. And poor DS Sad

Hard day with DD again but I can see a new tooth right on the brink of popping so that explains it. I am pretty tired with the no daytime napping thing though. Had a friend round for tea first thing and we then took our DDs to a free story and song session at the library. I did spend £7 on a posh deli sandwich for lunch though. Naughty.

I am trying to do the Ocado shop now but am nodding off...

LonelyOversharer · 27/04/2018 22:24

fluffy so simple. Buy garlic for cooking. Use the usual 3 cloves. A month later the shrivelled growing thing in the fridge? Split it up into cloves, and poke into soil to just cover the pointy top. Wait. Eventually each clove will transform into a new bulb of garlic. This year I bought 3 bulbs, we ate one, and I soaked the other 2, they send out roots in about 2 days, and planted each clove.

We had to pop out. £14 on milk and crisps and dog food. Got baby wipes for dd...I have a feeling these will be useful. She let me french plait her hair. It is the best hair to plait, thick and straight. She never lets me near it (but at least she brushes it now), so this was my 'treat' for driving her at the crack of dawn tomorrow.

Here are the little guys I posted today.

Lonely those are amazing. Do you take commissions

SunnyLikeThursday · 28/04/2018 06:30

Those are fantastic Lonely. Amazing!

We had another nice visit to my parents yesterday. It was good. ds was watching technology documentaries with df. I think they will enjoy one anothers' company.

Unescorted · 28/04/2018 06:48

lonely they are so cute. Just to clarify on the garlic.... I just pop the manky bits that are starting to shoot in the ground and they will grow? How long between sowing and cropping? I know I should Google 😀
Wolf thinking of you and your DS. You are doing so amazingly well.

Loveabaconsandwich · 28/04/2018 07:12

Fell off the thread as I have been so tired. Lots of disturbed night’s sleep recently.

Love your picture lonely . Is DP keeping up his end of the bargain and working his 10 hours too now?

Flowers so hard to know what to say wolf and so hard for your DS. We’re here to let you have a vent or whatever you need.

I so hope your DS gets some good news about a job soon laska . He sounds like he had really started becoming independent and such a worry for you too Brew . You have done a great job, he wants to work so he knows what he needs to do! He just needs the opportunity to get a permanent job.

Yesterday I was so tired I bought my first bought lunch since starting my new job. Which also meant DP bought his lunch too. But it’s been about 7 weeks of packed lunches though. I realised the other day, that pretty much all my working life before now I have bought lunch Blush. I am struggling without having a lunch break though- it’s the walking away from work for even 10 mins that I miss. I leave the house at 8.15, school run, work, home for a couple of minutes, school run then finally home at 3.30pm. I’ve taken to getting the DC a snack and then hiding away for 10 minutes with a Brew as my moment to stop for the first time in hours.

Pay day yesterday. I do worry a bit that one day I won’t get paid as cash flow seems a bit precarious. We did run our finances through the spreadsheet the other day though and we can just about cover our costs if my pay doesn’t arrive one day.

Fortunate escape em on the glass. I can’t believe you go back to work next week.

seacow thinking of you and your dad. You are allowed to be tired/fed up/not your usual self, you have so much on your plate right now and yet you carry on

Hope everyone else is doing ok too

Yesterday’s spends
£47 Ocado
£3.50 Tesco
£16 amazon on loads of toilet roll

Reading but so tired not posting much

Wolfcub · 28/04/2018 07:46

Morning all.

Love 7 weeks of packed lunches is fantastically frugal I am in awe. I do ok when I work at home or in local office but my day or two away a week makes it much harder. I won’t be able to claim back for those lunches away now though as I come under a different set of rules when I start (finally) my new job next week.
Been out dog walking and slung a load of washing on, ds still asleep, he has an activity this morning so I can leave him a little bit longer.
Going to ring the holiday company whilst he is at his activity as they haven’t called back, I’ve already chased them once
Need to take ds to get a card and present for stbexh as it’s his bday very soon.
Hope everyone has a lovely day BrewCakeFlowers

We all need a re- energising program for frugaleers. Maybe we should have me goals... A way of giving ourselves time and a budget to do something that makes us happy. Most of the reported spends on here are for other family members or household spend.

My me goal is going to be to fill my sketchbook by the end of May and buy a new one. If the house is a mess so be it.

SunnyLikeThursday · 28/04/2018 07:51

Unescorted I think I would like to play my violin a bit more. I'd like to play with ds on the piano and just do simple pieces so we have a bit of fun. It takes some committment to do it, but no money. That would be my goal.

Unescorted · 28/04/2018 07:54

Wolf - I use pots of leftovers for travel days. I am also looking at premade sandwich fillings - make them at the weekend and throw them somewhere in the direction of some bread. Things like they have in the posh sandwich shops....pret has a on line menu which is useful for inspiration.

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/04/2018 07:57

Sorry laska wasn't ignoring just struggling to keep up. Fingers crossed for DS.

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/04/2018 07:58

Hair cut and shopping today so £200 for both max

WreckTangled · 28/04/2018 08:04

I'm at Aldi. Aiming for a cheap week! Also why have I never had primark skinnies before? I love them!

Loveabaconsandwich · 28/04/2018 08:09

Me goals sound a great idea unescorted. I will have a think!

The other day I got asked by someone if I have any hobbies. I went “I watch tv, I read books, my DC take up a lot of time.” I felt quite embarrassed. Definitely food for thought though and busy working/parenting means we throw money at stuff but often don’t do much for ‘me’ that counts as doing something for ourselves.

QuiteCleanBandit · 28/04/2018 09:11

Sorry to hear some frugaleers are having a rough time .
Wolf Flowers
BrewCake for those who are tired poorly and have teething/poorly little ones.
Oh god teething - nothing really helps does it,they are so clingy and miserable .DD used to head butt me and I remember once bursting into tears and then she did Blush

Packed lunches -if at work its leftovers that can be reheated ,roast dinner is the bestGrin
If out and about nigellas supper onion pie is good or wraps. With a pot of hone chopped fruit .I alway sort them while cooking dinner .Done !

QuiteCleanBandit · 28/04/2018 09:16

I started a new thread as this one is almost full!

Laska5772 · 28/04/2018 09:24

coolio thanks * quite8

Wolfcub · 28/04/2018 09:37

Ocado order put in for next week and easy meal plan - mostly ready made or quick to make foods but I feel like I’m going to be challenged enough with new job and all of ds’s activities without trying to be Nigella as well
