Lovely dress Em and the accessory plan sounds great.
Had a conversation with holiday company about taking dh off booking rather than cancelling the whole thing - I think ds should still be able to have a holiday. They are working on it and will call back.
Ds FaceTimed dh resulting in a very upset child (also happy child) and I am left with the emotional fall out. Ds kept trying to involve me in the conversation aaargh is it any wonder I need a friggin ecg!
Changed work bank account to the new one I opened as this attracts a promotional interest rate. Won’t take effect until end of May but every penny counts. I also discovered my new job/promo paperwork hasn’t been done so chased this too I should have had 16 days higher pay this pay day but that now won’t happen but chasing will hopefully mean it’s sorted and back pay issued at the end of May.
Still haven’t phoned child benefit people, I will do that Thursday I think

Love Cagletini’s eating exploits, fantastic work

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 24/04/2018 19:29

Dd always loved her food from day 1, she would happily munch away on pretty much anything I gave her including anchovies! ! She has got more fussy as she gotten older though. Avocados were my go to baby food as required minimal prep 😁

Busy day here with work and have been out tonight collecting a little table and chairs set I bought via fb, it cost £20 and I'm really pleased with it.

Also spent £34 on petrol.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 24/04/2018 19:34

Decided that the frame I bought on Saturday didn't do my cross stitch sampler justice so bought another one for 7.99 today and 3 cards 2 birthday and 1 baby congrats cards total 11.55 also included stickers for dd she repaid me €2 when we came home.
I may spend printing photos to fill remaining 4 spaces of frame.

Other frame might do cross stitch I bought for preschool parting gift. It'll be used anyhow.

My workplace was burgled last night, so when the gardai called one of them witnessed me eating my porridge Blush

Wolf that's a great idea about the holiday.
Pity about your pay but inflated pay next month will be good too.

Sunny Grin at your dad

Seacow bluebell print sounds fab I'd love to see it. Local shop sells prints of our local scenery, I should print some of my own for putting up in our house.

I would never have thought of feeding dc mackerel and asparagus!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 24/04/2018 19:35

Banana was definitely my go to baby food

QuiteCleanBandit · 24/04/2018 20:02

em I meant more in terms of DH and his "no means no" and always being right attitude ?
If not its quite a change -poss fuelled by MIL?
Feel free to ignore if Im being too nosey.
Grey rock is good but a really nasty narc can react badly.
I did use this in a way in the past with NFM (narc family member) to control my responses and avoid the escalation of their behaviours .
Lots of useful neutral phrases are handy as replies that dont feed the troll
"interesting"(not agreeing nor disagreeing) said as blandly as possible works for me.
Families-eh?
Lovely dress em
Sunny Im being investigated for an AI disorder and feel that there are things I just cant do -feel rather shocked about it really.
DC @home got into his first choice uni Smile so will shortly have 3 at uni 😭😭😭
My walk to work and work is a priority -everything else will be if I have the energy .

mammy I hope exH isnt going to play silly over finances Flowers
Got paid today and £100 extra -sovwill wham that into savings .
LonelyRe blueberries, thats quite a lot of money .I would get the smaller and pay £40 off one of the CC.
Aim to celebrate the harvest in 3/4years and have paid off CC #sensiblehaton

Its chilly and rainy Hmm so hot bath for me !
Keep on frugaleering

CremeEggThief · 24/04/2018 20:25

NSD here.

Best of luck with the folks, Sunny. Did your dad really say he's only going to see you once a fortnight? Smile Maybe it's a blessing in disguise, if you need to keep your distance though.

Sorry to hear about the burglary at work, Mammy. Nowheres safe these days.

ememem84 · 24/04/2018 20:27

quite no not being too nosey at all. I suppose yes dh was like this always. To be fair I have no issue with no means no. As long as it applies to everyone. The always being right stuff welL...this is relatively new. But I suspect has something to do with work. As much as Dh says he isn’t all about work. He isn’t. We all are. He was promoted last year so is fairly senior but he has to be self assured and right as he’s making fairly significant decisions.

I’ve told him he needs to work on his home and work attitude.

My beach tent arrived. I unpopped it. And then struggled to put it back in it’s ridiculously small bag

ememem84 · 24/04/2018 20:31

In other news. I took ds back to the dr. Nursery suggested we give him the antibiotics. So I needed to know the dosage as the ooo dr didn’t write it anywhere. Sigh. Our gp checked ds and said his ears are pink now not red (hooray!) and his throat is pink not red. So keep doing what we’re doing.

He also prescribed me more paracetamol and ibruprofen. So these can be kept in the nursery bag. It’s so frustrating they insist on only prescribed paracetamol etc. It costs me £37 to get something that’d cost me £3 over the counter. I know they need to do it for their protection but still....

Unescorted · 24/04/2018 20:32

em that is an amazing dress. Where did you get it from? I promise I won't ever wear it anywhere south of London.
Cag I am in awe of getting dd2 to eat mackerel and asparagus. Both are far too exciting in this part of the world.
Mammy I would be tempted by the empty warehouse and 4 inch rusty nail resolution. Why do they think that just because the relationship has broken down they no longer have to contribute to the upkeep of their kids.

I may have bought a new set of fineliner pens....DD took my last set into school and then one of my colleagues borrowed them to write a telephone message. Between them they came back leaking.... I am tempted to blame the colleague because he is a bit of an idiot. But it is unlikely that he would have used all 6. Anyway I had a £10 voucher that I put against the new ones. I got to draw a very crowded train on my way home.

WreckTangled · 24/04/2018 20:37

That's really frustrating em. The rules have recently changed over here and you can sign something at the beginning of term to allow the administering of OTC medication like pain relief and antihistamines. The BMA were getting fed up of people having to have appointments with the gp to get them prescribed and told the schools and nurseries that they needed to amend their policies. It's only just filtering through three years later though.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 24/04/2018 20:45

Almost a near disaster, place I've got stitching in turned out to be a fixed blackboard, it's no longer a fixed blackboard Grin

Hopefully not quite I'll carry on paying stuff this week and next but mortgage comes out following week so he'll have to put in three weeks together then Angry

unescorted it’s a warehouse one. Reasonably priced too £38 I think. Or maybe £42. But either way under £50. I thought the skirt would be more flared and longer. Was expecting a midi skirt. But it’s the perfect length for me.

wreck it is frustrating. But I absolutely understand why they do it. I also feel guilty as may have taken an appointment from someone who really needed it. But at the same time we pay through the nose for appointments and we get a great service.

I’ve aigned medical forms for nursery to say if ds needs calpol theyre ok to give it to him but it has to be prescribed. Luckily I have loads of generic stuff at home so will use that here and leave he prescribed stuff in the nursery bag.

Cagliostro · 24/04/2018 21:16

That’s amazing mammy 😍

Great that DS seems to be improving em!

In case I am coming across as a Smugface Von Holierthanthou with my baby food talk earlier, I thought I’d better report that my spends this evening were £9.97 on dinner at McDonald’s 😂😂 had a bit of a bus nightmare after tap class. No Cagletini didn’t have any, she was asleep. House is a tip as well. Oops.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/04/2018 21:35

em look at tan tent folding YouTube videos.

ememem84 · 24/04/2018 21:36

I’m absokutely going to try ds on mackerel. He hasn’t had fish yet I don’t think. Nursery do a hot lunch. The chef is lovely and the food looks yum. I sometimes forget to check the menu or ask his key worker what he’s eaten.

Df laughs that his grandson will be brought up so upper middle class we should have named him avocado. Ha! He has had vegetable tagine with couscous though....

Unescorted · 24/04/2018 21:39

I will saunter down to Warehouse.
Cag you weren't smug at all.
Mammy that is amazing. How long did it take? I am not sure I would have enough patience and the risk of stabbing someone on the train is quite high. The train is my time to do things.... This is why I like knitting, sketching and reading..... All can be done while being used as a sofa cushion by other commuters.

Wolfcub · 24/04/2018 21:57

Cag definitely not smug.
Em those tents are a bastard to fold. I seem to remember essentially just grab two opposite sides and shove them towards the middle then sort of twist into a figure 8
Mammy that’s lovely

LonelyOversharer · 24/04/2018 22:15

Well I ordered my fruit bushes. I looked at the same varieties but on amazon, so loads cheaper, but they were tiny little plants, with very mixed reviews. I used to have blueberries, I wish I'd taken better care of them now. I have wasted so much money in the past. So, three expensive plants coming. Plus some other bits.

To offset this I have a bundle of work (knitting) worth £42 heading south tomorrow. So my frivolous spend has truly come out of 'my' money, not household budget.

em super dress, you look really nice in it. And bloody slim. You have just had a baby, no? If I look back at pics from when dd1 was 6mo I look like a tired blimp.

mammy that's a very cute cross stitch. And such a nice gift. But then I love a home made pressie.

unescorted what do you knit? I found that I can knit in the car (crochet or any kind of reading gives me instant motion sickness), so knit on circular needles, or my dinky 15cm long dpn's so I don't poke dp. Do you find everyone asks you about it? If I knit anywhere like waiting in hospital (dp has a lot of appts) I find a lot of people stop to chat. It usually starts with "oh, my grandma used to knit..."

ChristmasSeacow · 25/04/2018 00:38

I’ve lost my knitting mojo Sad. In fact, all my mojo. Need it all back ASAP.

Lovely sampler AuntieMammy, that’s a lovely gift. I did a massive alphabet one for DS (pfb) but then it languished unframed until dd came along. It now graces her room. I’ll take a pic tomorrow.

Must also add a pic of the bluebells, and bluebell print I bought. And the bloody massive dinner service. Mn wouldn’t let me upload anything yesterday though, it kept freezing when I tried.

bandit what’s AI?

Wolf I hope you get your holiday!

Em I had our beach tent out for dd at the weekend - watching DH try to fold it was the best laugh I’ve had in ages. I managed to wrestle the bastard thing away into its case in the end, must be some muscle memory there... Wink

Dd has been really miserable and high maintenance for the last two days. Most likely teeth, outside possibility of ears. I’ll see how she goes tomorrow. I had a fright this morning, I heard her wake up and babble a bit as usual, and then I heard an ominous crackle... the sort of noise that should not be possible to generate from within the safe confines of her cot. I shot out of bed like a ferret out of a trap, to find her sitting up and leaning over the side of the cot tapping the monitor (which has a tempting light on). Emergency date with my Allen keys tonight dismantling the thing and lowering the mattress position before I put her to bed. Phew.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 25/04/2018 02:33

I've added baby's name, birthdate birth time and weight in pink stitching along the middle of sampler, completely outing though so won't post it here.
Unescorted I started on March 2nd but I've only done a few hours every week.
When the one for preschool comes I'll have less than two months to complete Shock

QuiteCleanBandit · 25/04/2018 06:34

Auto Immune Sea

mammynowanauntyIRL · 25/04/2018 07:28

seacow look forward to seeing it. I've got afghan blanket material, maybe someday I'll stitch on it Hmm

ememem84 · 25/04/2018 07:31

Morning all. Taking things to charity shop today. Then nails later. Hoorah. Voucher to cover the nails too so yay!

scattyspice · 25/04/2018 07:49

Morning 🌞.

Lovely cross stitch mammy. I'm also a knitter but only scarfs that require no concentration. I started when dc were little so that I could chat to them while they played without actually playing with them 😊.

Will be spending today as need bits from Asda, and will call in to shopping park on the way back from mil's.
