I live on tea -mmm West Country is my favorite plus Earl Grey,Lady Grey ,Chai, green tea,Harriets Rose and Choc is lovely.
Nothing like brew !
Now Im worried about my Boden dresses-the reviews seem to be love/hate
Aaah well Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/03/2018 09:46

Quite it has to be Yorkshire. Twining everyday in a bind

ememem84 · 10/03/2018 09:51

We’re not brand loyal to tea here. Except earl grey. It has to be twinings.

We’re currently working our way through a catering pack of tetley. Probably around 25 million teabags. Dh bought it to send to Bil in Aussie 2 years ago but never actually sent it....

QuiteCleanBandit · 10/03/2018 09:53

Yorkshire was my favorite until I tried West Country -its lush Wink
I order direct from the manufacturer -500 each time.

QuiteCleanBandit · 10/03/2018 09:55

Coop Earl Grey is my fav em but quite frankly I would accept anything if its tea and someone else was making it Grin

ememem84 · 10/03/2018 10:00

Yep quite if I don’t have to make it anything goes!!! I have a friend who will only drink a certain brand of tea. The first time she came to mine she brought it with her and left it. I’m meant to tell her when the box is empty so she can bring more. She’s here a lot which is nice. The box of 120 hasn’t ever emptied....because I’ve been filling it with the tetley we have....

I was given earl grey leaf tea for Christmas which smells divine. But I don’t have a tea strainer. So will take that to dparents when we move in as Dm has every gadget imaginable. I could use my sieve but that’s a bit ridiculous.

WreckTangled · 10/03/2018 10:02

I'm not a tea person. Black coffee no sugar for me please.

Am on the train to London. Won't post spends and I know it'll be a lot! Am using this months council tax money.

Bleurgh. I'm going backwards so feel sick already and it's boiling

QuiteCleanBandit · 10/03/2018 10:10

I had a work colleague who would "borrow"Hmm teabags out of a nice Yorkshire Tea tin I had on my desk followed by "mmmm YT ,lovely-I only drink YT "
I had swapped the YT for sainsburys basics and the YT was locked in my drawerGrin

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/03/2018 10:19

Mil commented on the nice tea I’d made one day & asked what it was. Tesco smartprice.

Cup went down. Wasn’t picked up again.

The Yorkshire tea couple on shop well for less always stick in my mind.

QuiteCleanBandit · 10/03/2018 10:32

I love those programmes Fluffy Blush

Unescorted · 10/03/2018 10:51

Morning.

Waves at everyone. My brain is like a sieve at the moment so hope the Piggie pulls through. The fire cert happens (or lenders change their mind). There is nothing wrong with aspiration and praise for things well done. I am super proud of my 2 and am always telling them so. As well as anyone who stays still long enough.

I am now on my 3rd cancer scare of the year.... breast lump (came back ok), cervical cancer abnormalities (waiting for a biopsy result). Now my optician has asked my GP to refer me to an eye specialist because of the dark spots on my eyes and the blurred patch of vision.... my mother is in a sulk because I have said I don't have time to turn up her jeans this weekend. If I tell her the real reason she will make it all about her..... My eyes are fine you must have got it from the other side of the family. I have never had anything wrong with my breasts. When my smear was abnormal I only took 30seconds off work and I was fine ( no mother it is a little more than the smear). Sorry for the rant.

The advantage of being knackered is that I don't have any time to go spending and dh's cooking is more basic (and cheaper than mine)

Unescorted · 10/03/2018 10:54

I will only drink tea made with water from home....we are on unchlorinated water so tea tastes weird made anywhere else.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/03/2018 10:59

Bloody hell Unescorted, that’s awful I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

WreckTangled · 10/03/2018 11:11

Unescorted ThanksGin

ememem84 · 10/03/2018 11:19

unescorted hope everything is ok xx

fluffy love eat wellfor less. “Oh this is definetly my brand. I can tell. Mmm hmmmm absolutely. I’d know if you switched it.”

“We switched it”

“Oh. I couldn’t tell “ hahahahah

mammymammyIRL · 10/03/2018 11:23

Unescorted wow one cancer scare is enough for anyone in their lifetime. So sorry that you haven't support from the one person who should have your back at all times. My thoughts prayers and best wishes are with you at this tough time Thanks

Brew is not my thing at all! Of the four of us children, the two boys drink coffee the two girls no hot drinks, all had same upbringing and our parents drink tea. The boys are more refined Wink

€5.50 on newspaper, used to be a weekly purchase think it's been6 weeks since I ought it. Decided to split the two bottles of wine 🍷- giving red to first friend and white to second, biscuits and bars for first house with dc and regift Ferrero rocher to other friend.

Myself and dsis will cook for my dm tomo so must buy ingredients today in Aldi. That's food so joint account Wink

Unescorted · 10/03/2018 11:41

Thanks... The stress of waiting is so tiring. She has form. Mostly we all ignore it but I am peak stress and I don't have any more energy to manage her behaviour. My Dr and optician are so lovely.... They are like a tag team of support. I don't know if they are doing it as a coordinated approach but they take turns to call me and reassure me.

I am making sure my kids know how to cook the essentials like mummies most awesome Yorkshire puddings in the world. They think I am developing some sort of maternal illnesses.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/03/2018 11:42

Oh I may have to try West county then.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/03/2018 11:45

Tbf I can't usually tell. The waste at work is a boiler and it's usually that which makes the tea taste horrible.

Unescorted Flowers

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/03/2018 11:45

That will be water not waste. Waste in tea would be very wrong.

SunnyLikeThursday · 10/03/2018 12:07

Sorry to hear you've had all that going on unescorted. Cancer scares are a whole different thing aren't they? I hope it all comes back fine and soon.

Moanranger · 10/03/2018 13:30

Re tea, local shop carries Heritage brand ( cheap) and no one here can tell the difference.
Doing taste-testing on this stuff can be very revealing. We now stick to Heritage porridge as it tastes no different to expensive stuff.

Wolfcub · 10/03/2018 13:45

Unescorted fingers crossed all is well. Glad to hear the optician and gp are being both proactive and supportive

Yorkshire tea is my favourite but I will drink others, tea is the staff of life for me

Spent a fortune, after the oversized Boden dress didn’t fit and felt uncomfortable I realised my sides have swelled as I seem to be retaining water and not just round my face I bought a soft skirt from m&co with a stretchy waist so that however puffy I am next week I won’t be feeling squeezed at my event. I also bought a layered top again to disguise puffyness and an oversize jumper from Tesco.
Also bought bottles of prosecco for my staff and chocs for each member of the team who’ve supported us putting next week’s work thing on. Plus some stationery for event that we couldn’t get from stores due to timescales.
Also bought ds two books and flowers for dm and grandmother for tomorrow.

Very spendy but on plus side my ring repair was a third of what I was quoted and my m and co skirt and top will be covered by my Boden refund.

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/03/2018 14:04

Four hours at work today. Came home to a bacon sandwich cooked by DP. Currently sat on the sofa having a Brew (nothing fancy here) whilst DP tries to unblock the drain outside. Drizzly too outside so he is being a Star. Hoping he will put up our new blackout blind in our bedroom which is currently stored in our entrance hall so it needs to move!

DP took the DDs to toys r us earlier, and they obviously needed new dolls Hmm because we have so few dollies —everywhere— in our house
