Beautiful but soooo cold here too! I’m off out tonight to a friend’s house for dinner, leaving DH in charge of the rug rats... I know I will have a good time but I am not looking forward to the 1 hr DLR/tube/walking home bit at the end at 1am in the freeezing cold! ❄️

Wolfcub · 24/02/2018 14:05

Dh has just dropped my just washed sheet in the mud and trodden on it. I am trying not to stab him with the washing pole

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/02/2018 15:38

Meadow my favourite cook books have been kids ones Blush and a dairy one off the milkman about 25 years ago.

Lonely how does it look now?

£1 soya milk.

Am dying two pairs of shoes navy. Dh has called it pensioner blue.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/02/2018 17:28

£55 Aldi, £15 Iceland. Got a free thingy of their Mumbai Street for range so got the curried potato and peas. Twas nice.

Been out looking at cars. Now have a short list, just need to number crunch

ememem84 · 24/02/2018 17:39

lonely re coloured mascara. Yes you can. Yves saint Laurent and dior both do them. Ysl is the better of the two. This is the one I use.

It’s pricey but I don’t use every day. And buy it as a treat. My eyes are a brown/green/hazel colour. And it makes them really stand out.

Riding £27. No other spends. Dinner is slag Bol cooked in slow cooker.

Just had a nap. My teeth hurt. Booooo. But Dentist said this would happen and it’ll take a few days to get used to. In the mean time - pain killers.

Sorry Cag have been out .
I hate plastic water bottles and the taste makes me heave .
The Chilly keeps your drink ice cold or hot ,I find it tastes clean not metallic and have tried a cheaper one (gave to DDBlush) it didnt compare.
I took coffee in my Contigo (save £2.75) water in my Chilly (80p) so roughly each trip would be a saving of £3.55 just on drinks -for 2 adults £7.10 .
The cost of the flask/bottle is absorbed really quickly if you use it regularly.
If we go for a walk we take our cups and some cake/hot cross buns to have when we get back to the car or on our walk if its sunny . £s saved in NT coffee shops and no entry fee as we are members.
Its gloriously sunny here .
Walked 6 miles so hot bath for me.

tinyradish · 24/02/2018 17:46

I'd never heard of dead man's leg being jam roll poly! Fair enough Confused

Forgot we needed petrol. £40 full tank.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/02/2018 17:59

I had that with my brace Em, it really is only a few days. Ibuprofens meant to be really effective on dental pain & you can always take it with paracetamol if it’s really bad or it’s stopping you sleeping.

The end justifies the means.

Lonely Ask them to try it on you to see if you like it. Or buy a sample on eBay. I get a bit intimidated by make up counters now.

Aldi do nespresso compatible pods, aldi coffee beans are something I always go back to.

ememem84 · 24/02/2018 18:16

lonely go and ask for samples.

fluffy no pain no gain right. It’s uncomfortable but just getting used to it uncomfortable. I’ve had braces before so knew (roughly) what I’m getting myself into.

The wierd one is that I can only drink water while wearing it. No other drinks (to prevent staining - although Dentist seems to think I’d be ok with camomile/peppermint tea) and no food. So removing it to eatbis tough - but again- just getting used to it. At he moment it feels as though I’m pulling my teeth out when I remove it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/02/2018 18:22

They told my dn the same wrt drinks. I suppose most people have braces etc young & don’t have a latte habit.

Drinking through a straws meant to prevent staining because it delivers the liquid to the back of the mouth.

I’d have my lower set done if I could afford it.

WreckTangled · 24/02/2018 18:23

Argh em that's making me so squeamish! Given how much coffee I drink I don't think I could cope with those.

Dd has a friend to stay tonight. I really hate it but don't want to ruin dds fun just because of how I feel. It's my best friends daughter so I've known her since she was born and she's really no trouble, I just don't like it. I want to go and hide in my bed.

Wolfcub · 24/02/2018 18:44

Sausage plait in the oven made with puff pastry bought in Tesco freezer sale, sausage meat bought in Sainsbury’s new year sale and some sad eating apples from the fruit bowl

Wrongwayup · 24/02/2018 19:08

Spent another 70 in garden centre. Once you start.. ..... But need to be super frugal in march. Unexpected bill 700 related to horses. Ahhhhh

SunnyLikeThursday · 24/02/2018 19:34

Wreck I know what you mean. Hope it goes okay.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 24/02/2018 20:25

wreck glad it's not just me who feels like that when dd has a friend for a sleepover! I find it stressful.

Have had an unexpected Nsd. Quiet day at home, a friend popped over for a catch up. Was going to go out but couldn't be arsed in the end!

Dd made some delicious cookies earlier, really yummy 🍩🍩🍩

SnugglySnerd · 24/02/2018 21:38

Busy day. Spent a tenner on a top up shop plus a sandwich as I was starving. I was annoyed about that as I hate shop sandwiches and think they are a complete waste of money.

Will catch up properly tomorrow at some ridiculously early hour no doubt I'm off to bed...

ememem84 · 24/02/2018 22:15

In bed now. Exhausted.

I’ve just taken my jumper off and have seen the starts of a bruise on my arm from where pony bit me today....

Cagliostro · 24/02/2018 23:29

Got to bed early but can’t sleep 🤦‍♀️
Long day tomorrow as DH has a half marathon and then is working. Was pondering taking the Caglets to the cinema or something. 💸💸💸

ChristmasSeacow · 25/02/2018 00:17

Quite drink, on the way home. My oh my, I’ve eaten a lot of osso bucco and cheese. This was the cheese board for 4 people.

What don’t you like about it Wreck? Hope you are okay.

Em I remember braces being pretty painful for a couple of days every time they were tightened but not too bad in between. But for this bit... drugs.

ChristmasSeacow · 25/02/2018 00:19

Attachment. Hic.

And this was after finishing one of the cheeses (a fresh cheese) 🐷

£20-ish in butchers.

Funeral went well. Exhausted today, but can’t sleep. Oh well.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 25/02/2018 02:54

Checking in to new thread. Spent quite a lot this past week. Last weekend away up north was largely paid for, Premier inn and train tickets. Train to get there delayed an hour so hoping to claim through the Delay Repay scheme. But I purchased two dresses in the sale at East, I understand they are closing so may be last chance. Also pedi and some waxing, cheaper up north. Mum gave me a cheque for shopping I got for her and some money towards the beauty treatments which was sweet of her but still I spent £250 on myself which I don't often do.

Lowish spends during the week, just some food. Had lovely day off yesterday with DP, playing with visiting cat who is with us for two weeks and out walking. Dropped in at farm shop on way home, £16 on joint of beef, leeks, carrots, potatoes and sausages. Have accidentally wasted two sausages, put them to cool in microwave to stop puss getting them and forgot them. Grr, hate wasting food, especially meat.

Hoping for low spend week as I am on nights after today. Oh and lowish spend on Amazon, wooden picnic forks for DP to use for his packed lunch salads and dvd for my Dad, birthday last week and wanted this for him as an extra.

WreckTangled · 25/02/2018 06:21

Glad it's not just me girlie sunny. Seacow it's just stressful having the responsibility of someone else's child. I'm fine now it's morning, evenings are always when my anxiety strikes and it didn't help that dc wouldn't sleep then friends daughter had some tears... all good now. Dh is going to make pancakes for breakfast.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/02/2018 07:25

Sainsbury this morning. Then ford garage and maybe garden centre or national trust.
