Having an ugh can't be bothered day. Filled a bin bag at the door of the girls room, so much rubbish in there everywhere. Started on ds' room, but of course they wanted to play in there. It is 6' square and 1/3 of it is bed, so opted to leave it for now.

Turkey pie tonight, with not quite the end of the christmas turkey (whole breast still frozen). I'm also going to use up some very sad bananas making some 3 ingredient cookies, just oats and cocoa. We shall see.

My new glasses are ready, usually I'd be in the car with a "yay! unavoidable trip to town" attitude, but honestly, they can wait until monday.

Re Primark comments above, I never really rated it, but bought turtle necks(I live in these in winter under jumpers) for £4 ea & they are holding up well, colour, no shrinking, comfy. Also shoes good value. (Never again Clark’s where last£60 pair fell apart!)
Crawled back in bed after brief foray into RL -spent£6.60 on food & paper, £9.56 at chemist on lemsip, and £1 on pastry for DS. As his roadie, I had to take sound equipment to him at train station. He is filming in London ATM.
Hacking “old man” cough ATM, defo not sexy, so glad DP is away -hopefully it will abate by tomorrow when he returns.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/02/2018 13:35

Afternoon.

Happy Birthday sea; hope you can salvage something from it.

For those asking yes the job is CS. I have devised a technique involving coloured post it's to match the competency to the job spec and match them to my experience and outcomes.., A sideways move but better opportunities.

The weather is gash but that saves money.... an hour of HIIT at home instead of a long walk and pub. I am knackered.....

When do the clocks change?

Laska5772 · 10/02/2018 14:18

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/02/2018 14:49

Cag Instore only but they run for 7 days.

Em You sure your ok? You don't need to rest up with a hot water bottle?.

Wolf Cheap cream cleaner for the doors? You might find a cheap bed frame on eBay if he's not taking care of stuff.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/02/2018 15:05

I've been sent a £10 boden voucher. Not sure I will spend it. Anyone want it?

WreckTangled · 10/02/2018 15:09

Ooo life yes please! Dd is desperate for decent leggings

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/02/2018 15:13

Will pm you wreck

Wolfcub · 10/02/2018 15:50

Fluffy I made him clean it with nilglass. Dh reckons it’s ok. I haven’t looked yet! Old broken blind and other crap taken to the tip. Went into Sainsbury’s to get the bits I couldn’t get from Ocado and somehome spent £70. There’s some heat pads and deep heat in there for me and dh but even so that’s just ridiculous

ememem84 · 10/02/2018 16:41

fluffy that was my prescribed option this afternoon.

It wasn’t a bad fall. I landed a jump pony decided to canter but I wasn’t expecting it so when I went I sit back down I bumped up and lost my balance. Got right back on though.

WreckTangled · 10/02/2018 16:43

The price of a child ticket return to London has gone up by £9!!! It used to be £5. Ffs wankers. The price of mine hasn't changed (I already have a network rail card that gives a discount)

WreckTangled · 10/02/2018 16:48

I think they've stopped the network railcard being applicable to children Angry if I got the family and friends railcard I could get the tickets cheaper but only if I have the dc with me and I often go to London without them.

LonelyOversharer · 10/02/2018 17:52

I think I'm calling it a nsd!! On a saturday, completely unheard of for me. I haven't actually been further than the front step either today. I'm actually enjoying not having to go out.

Turkey pie was ace, last fridays brocolli was a bit sad looking, but not too far gone (just a bit yellow after a quick steam), and only one bean was a bit smushy. So Lidl's fresh veg passes for me! The rest will get eaten up with roast chuck tomorrow.

Banana/cocoa/oat cookies surprisingly nice. Even banana hater dd3 likes them. Dp says they are energy bars. Good use for dead bananas. And no sugar. At all. If I make them again I'll put a bit of honey in, it seems I have a very sweet tooth.

Pudding of sponge with blueberries and brown sugar in the bottom of the dish is in the oven, so will have as a sort of supper instead. I have also sorted, scrubbed and moved about my work top. The one in that photo. I won't go so far as to say it's clear, but the front half is, so six plates could be laid out to dish up! Sink area next, then the corner of tupperware doom.

ememem84 · 10/02/2018 18:05

I’ve made dh £56 today. He had some free bets. So I used them.

We’ve spent the afternoon watching rugby and doing laundry.

We’ve had a house conversation. We agree we are not spending over £600k. We agree we want more space than we have here.we agree we want a south/southwest garden. We agree we want a garage. We agree we want either an eat in kitchen or a dining room. We disagree on open plan. We disagree on having three double bedrooms. We disagree on building storage into bedrooms to make the most use of the space we disagree on making sure (eventually) that washing machine and dryer are in garage (if not seperate utility) to make max use of kitchen space (im in favour of this).

We just need to find the house.

Unescorted · 10/02/2018 18:33

laska you can't retire. There is a shortage of housing professionals. Which is why I keep telling everyone about the vacancies at ours. I wish I was. Wolf they are fab to work for.... 😁

Em at least you know the non compromise bits and the ones you could live with.

Lonely we often have slightly sad Vege. It is really just me as no one else knowingly eats Vege in this house. I optimistically buy them and then they slowly compost in the fridge. I am becoming better at hiding them.

WreckTangled · 10/02/2018 18:36

Just found £10 in a paddy power account left over from when I was doin matched betting Grin

ememem84 · 10/02/2018 18:42

True unescorted just have to work within those parameters to find the one....

I’ve just looked at all the estate agents websites. The houses I liked have all gone under offer. Even the ones I hated have gone under offer. So hopefully there’ll be more stuff coming soon...

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/02/2018 19:17

sounds like the housing market is bouyant though Em - hopefully the right thing will come up soon. Is going to your parents an options still?
I've make cakes and lonely's flapjack for half term today - have eaten shit today and am feeling crap. Not bad food just not a proper meal.

FFS i need inspiration of nice food to eat.

AuditAngel · 10/02/2018 19:23

Hello all, been busy and spendy. Will try to work backwards as it's been a while.

Today £40 for karate squad training, £28.03 for petrol but can claim, McDonalds breakfast on way to training £10.13 (gif 4) and the extra person I took to training gave me £5

Yesterday £21 on school PE kit for track suits for the two girls. £9 on a gift for a party both girls are going to tomorrow, already brought assorted slime earlier in the week, £1.50 for card and £1.50 for gift bag.

£160 on food shop, I have not done a proper shop for 2 weeks, this included lots of packed lunch things for training, and extra lunches as it us school holidays.

Lunch £4.59

Thursday £25 towards DS's cadet camp in the summer, £50 paid, £130 to go. Top up shop for tea and other bits £45

I have to confess I can't remember much other than that. Last weekend I brought DD1 a new duvet, 2 covers and 2 sheets. We are buying new bunks shortly and the bottom will be a double, DD201 was moaning that all the covers were babyish/too girly, there didn't seem any point in buying new single covers, so she'll manage with old bottom sheets for now and use the new duvet on her current bed.

WreckTangled · 10/02/2018 19:37

Thanks life just got dd new season leggings, delivered for £4.12 Smile
