Grin fluffy at your DH.

Cheers re Sainsbury's, Primark a good call. I'm only wanting some new vests to go under jumpers etc, but like a tight, stretchy vest rather than loose.

WreckTangled · 09/02/2018 20:34

I get my right stretchy vests from primark. They last a year and cost £2.50 each. They go under everything and once they're not looking so good they get worn as pj tops in the summer.

WreckTangled · 09/02/2018 20:35

*tight

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/02/2018 20:40

Yes wreck that's them. They have adjustable shoulder straps which is good for me too

MeadowHay · 09/02/2018 20:48

I usually get my vests in like H&M/Topshop when they're dead reduced in the sale. But I only wear them at home so don't have high expectations.

So my NSD ended up in a £53 spend at Sainsbury's on food shopping but it's not coming until Tuesday evening, I just thought I'd do it now as will be busier over the next few days.

Em I'm 21 and half weeks-ish. The time is going sooo slowwww. I thought once the worst of my HG passed the time would go faster and I guess it is a bit with being back at work etc but tbh I'm bored of my job already and I've only been there a few months lol so the days go really slow and drag. Feels like forever til baby will be here. I have bought a few maternity bits from H&M and Topshop in the sales, I have like 4 tops, 2 dresses, a pair of tights, a pair of trousers and a pair of jeans. And a pair of PJs. but I haven't started wearing any of it except the jeans as I don't fit in any of my old ones and the tights because they are much comfier round my tummy. I still fit in most my old tops and just wearing elasticated skirts/trousers sometimes in a size up from my normal size for now.

ememem84 · 09/02/2018 23:02

Lovely night out. £7 taxi home. Dfriend paid for cinema and dinner I got drinks £34 at the naice cocktail bar. Couple of g&ts (me) and strawberry daiquiris (her). Dinner at my fave Indian place (lamb korma pilau rice peshwari naan) mmmm

Film was dire.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/02/2018 23:10

Thanks for all the bday wishes for dd, I still can't believe I have a 12 yo 😰 bdays always seem to be a tricky one for dd, I think all the excitement and expectation overwhelm her a bit. Tbf I find them stressful!!

Hopefully she will have a nice wend though 🎂

mammymammyIRL · 09/02/2018 23:56

Checking in from wedding dh is catching up with an old friend so I'm at a loose end Grin I also buy my stretchy vests from primark like fluffy & long sleeved tops for winter, also use these under tshirts for cold summer days. Two summers & one winter before they're retired to being just vests for warmth Smile

Dj that'll be on next was our weddind dj so should be good Grin

Glad em and mammy had good evenings out.

I really hope girlie DD enjoys the rest of her birthday weekend. Sad that she couldn’t trampoline as it is hard when things get cancelled. Yes girlie to their being high expectations on you to deliver a great day. When we love our DC, we try so hard to make things special for them and put ourselves under a lot of pressure Smile

Yesterday was spendy
£5.99 eye drops as I think I have a stye
£65 Tesco inc world book day costume and five birthday cards
£43 petrol. Tank was almost empty but got 10p off per litre as I spent so much on groceries
£7.20 M&S on reduced Chinese meal

Claimed £10 M&S voucher from survey site

I really should have bought the birthday cards at the cheap shop near work but hadn’t been organised enough. There are six family birthdays on DPs side within a month.

We have an exciting weekend of sorting out the garage ahead. New sofa comes this week and the old ones will go in the garage for now. We might donate one to DPs work for their after school club but he hasn’t done anything about it Hmm

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/02/2018 07:08

Frugal fail. The chicken for tonight’s curry in the fridge is now two days out of date. I’m normally so good a lot keeping an eye on this and planning it right. I might send DP to the shop to buy more but no doubt he will come back with more than chicken

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/02/2018 07:10

laska have you decided when you are going to resign yet? We might have a competition this week to see which one of us does it first?! Smile

WreckTangled · 10/02/2018 07:23

Hmm I would usually say sniff it love but chicken isn't one I like to risk.

We don't have any plans today which is nice.

northender · 10/02/2018 07:50

Thanks for the new thread Mammy it's taken a few days but I got here in the end!
Girlie happy birthday to your dd, sorry she didn't get her party as planned but hope it works out on Sunday. She has had a rough time recently, hope she's properly better very soon. I know exactly what you mean about feeling overwhelmed by birthdays, dd was just the same and a few times ended up in tears as she couldn't cope with all the presents and nice things people did for her. That does seem to have passed now though!
fluffy love that you were asked for ID and then what your dh said Grin
Busy week done. Not too spendy although logging all our spending has been an eye opener, we are definitely spending more than we should be. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out over the whole month. Meta Power class for me, dh and dd at 0815 so early start. I pulled my calf (ouch!) at circuits on Thursday so will be doing an adapted version. Ds has club cricket training this afternoon so some taxi duty for us. Then the rest of today will be helping ds prepare for his big trip tomorrow. We will drop him off at the airport at 9 and then carry on down to Devon for a quick family visit (Sunday lunch with friends in Somerset en route). Staying in Devon until Wednesday.
After all ds has been through over the past few months, I'm so excited for him. He's growing into a really lovely independent young man & I feel so proud of him (I know I'm biased). He doesn't usually like having his picture taken but is under orders to take plenty to share with us!

ChristmasSeacow · 10/02/2018 08:12

I’m excited for him too North. It’s a wonderful country. Tell him to look out for the birds, they are so beautiful there. This guy was my favourite. A violaceous trogon. Also a brilliant name.

I’ve woken up with a rotten sore throat and feeling rough. My friend is also ill so has had to cancel coming for a birthday lunch. We thought about going out for the day as a family somewhere instead but can’t really go anywhere while dd has diarrhoea. So not the best birthday Hmm. At least there’s coffee cake which I am tempted to have for breakfast

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/02/2018 08:23

Happy Birthday for your DD Girlie, I'm sorry I missed it. I couldn't get internet for ages yesterday.

Family coming round tonight but I'm going to buy the food on the nectar card.

LonelyOversharer · 10/02/2018 08:25

north I'm so pleased your boy is well enough to go. With all he's been through lately (and has coming up) this will be wonderful for him!

girlie belated wishes to your lovely dd. My dd2 also finds birthdays incredibly tough (she sobbed all through 'cake' last year), also the transition to high school. I think they might be quite alike! But I know how you feel Flowers

We are having a weather event. Like a rain/ice storm, literally blowing a gale. I had to shut the dogs out for their morning pee, they changed their minds very quickly!

Bugger, watching the weather (love the 2d map btw, you can actually see how big the country is at last) and it looks like this is it for the weekend.

I sorted four, yes 4 full bin bags from just the hall last night Blush. And cleaned the floor. I am going to finish painting the woodwork too. No really, I am I found the paint too

And am starting on dd2 and dd3's room today too. It's time to churn the beds round, rearrange etc. Am collecting bags ready for the skip. Which I'm not booking until this weather has passed (2022 then).

Cagliostro · 10/02/2018 08:27

Ooh pretty bird 😍
Happy birthday hope you feel better soon!

Have lapsed a bit, felt Meh and spent more than I should. Back on it today.

LonelyOversharer · 10/02/2018 08:27

Happy birthday seacow sorry you're feeling poorly. Yes eat cake for breakfast.

ememem84 · 10/02/2018 08:30

Have won some things on eBay - couple of dresses/tops for work. Oops.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/02/2018 08:54

Happy birthday sea, and girlie dd.

Slept in until 830 today. The temp job I did is being readvertise for another year 4 competency assessment and an interview. Not sure what to do.

DS needs school shoes, dd tracksuit. Aldi today. Missed gym as slept in. Dh out on the beer this afternoon.

WreckTangled · 10/02/2018 08:59

Happy birthday seacow!

We're going to the local farm park today. Will take good to minimise spends.

Had cheese on toast for breakfast. So naughty but so good.

WreckTangled · 10/02/2018 09:23

Argh I have sinned. Just bought some boots. If I don't absolutely love them I will return them

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/02/2018 10:32

Goodfellas thin pizzas are £1.25 in sains, topcashback groceries are doing 75p cashback.

Cagliostro · 10/02/2018 11:19

These cashback things where you get it on specific items like the pizza, do they only work if you buy the item in store? Or can you somehow scan the receipt if you ordered it on Tesco online etc?

Wolfcub · 10/02/2018 12:52

The blind is up in the sitting room I love it. Dh hates it. I don’t care! We discovered today that ds has broken his bed and has covered the doors of his new (last year but really hard for us to afford) wardrobe this comes after finding a load of things in there he shouldn’t have. We’re waiting to see what else comes out of his dump. He is not popular.
Shopping order put in and meal plan done. Some things have carried over from the last meal plan, I’m away a couple of days next week and I’m shattered so there’s lots of ready made stuff for dh and ds and some easy slow cooker meals for all of us.
