In bed, electric blanket on, still feel like c**p. One advantage of it, tho is NSD.
DP & DS away til Sun, so have House to self & less pressure to shop as I have limited food needs. Will stay in bed, read, & perhaps watch Olympics.
Wolf I throw this out as a suggestion, as it may not be your thing, but Ikea blinds are pretty fab, and you can customise them yourself to fit any width. I sew and do some DIY, so fairly comfortable with a level, jigsaw, etc. They provide instructions for modifying blind widths. Mine look pretty fab.
If you really want to save money (and also nagging time) May I recommend B&Qs free DIY classes. After my divorce, I took several of these and I now can do most of my own DIY - hang shelves, put in roll plugs, etc. My DP can do this, but I hate nagging & highly satisfying to do on my own.

Shiny.

ememem84 · 09/02/2018 12:40

Old Tongan shiny bod was the flag bearer at the Rio games.

ememem84 · 09/02/2018 12:45

OMFG. Korean John Lennon.

ChristmasSeacow · 09/02/2018 12:47

Almost £40 in sainsburys and that’s not even the food shop ffs. I bought some ribs, jacket spuds and salad for tonight, and some naice puds for tomorrow as it’s my birthday and DH won’t have made much effort. Also a small coffee cake as it’s my favourite and no one else here eats it but I’ve some visitors coming over the weekend who will share it. Rest was mostly non-food, mostly nappies as I like the Sainsbury’s ones, and other baby bits. I did also buy the Highway Rat dvd as DS loves all the julia Donaldson stuff. That was £7 same as Amazon.

Johnnie Boden has also sent me a £10 voucher. I’m scared to look... Grin

Might check out when the figure skating is on. That’s my favourite.

ChristmasSeacow · 09/02/2018 12:55

Snuggly this bug but with TWINS would be a terrifying amount of washing Shock

Lonely I buy Tu uniform stuff and often find the same in branches. I tend to do it online, so stick what I need in my basket, where it stays, and then I checkout asap after the 25% goes live. Click and collect. Saves rummaging through racks to find the size I want is missing anyway.

Wreck he was probably upset because he could see you but would be fine once back in class.

SunnyLikeThursday · 09/02/2018 13:08

I told ds about the treadmill this morning and also bought a cheapo knock off fitbit for him. In his head, he is now an aspiring runner, and he did ten runs up and down the stairs and 40 laps of the inside of the house. I really hope it works as he seems very positive about it all.

MeadowHay · 09/02/2018 13:28

I only had to go to work for like 2 and half hours this morning, but got paid the whole day, it was great Grin. Can't really say why as potentially outing. Had a nice lunch with DH who doesn't have classes on Fridays and now baby is wriggling about. Do they always move about lots after a meal? Mine seems to most of the time.

Sunny Aw, that's fab. Glad he is motivated! I have always hated running! Grin

My maternity PJs and a maternity dress I ordered from Boohoo have arrived. Cheapy materials tbh but they were cheap so -shrug-. Also a tie that I bought for DH for valentines' day.

Today is an NSD. Well. It should be.

Repair person came for the washing machine, the pump is broken and he said he will order the part and it should arrive in a few days but could be up to two weeks Angry. We are lucky we can go to my parents' and use theirs on the weekends.

ememem84 · 09/02/2018 13:38

meadow ds moved about all the time!!! But more so after meals. That boy was and still is a wiggle puppy!!

How far along are you now? Must be over half way?

If you’re buying maternity clothes the best I found were from asos. I had a few super soft jersey material pencil skirts. They were great. I’m not sure if I still have them - may have got rid but if I can find them I can send them your way if you like? They were great for work - a black and a grey.

(I also really rated Jojo maman Bebe for Maternity knickers....)

I was going to take ds out today but he’s a bit fussy and it’s just started raining so we’re staying in. He’s in his cot giggling wiggling and cooing at the mobile we bought him. It’s got spaceships and planes on it, it plays the most annoying music ever (how it’s supposed to be soothing I don’t know...) but he seems to like it.

I’ve emptied my pyjama/sock drawer onto the bedroom floor and am sorting out.

Loveabaconsandwich · 09/02/2018 15:51

My friend who works at the potential new job has been negotiating away for me, and looks like it’ll just be a £1.5k pay cut on my current salary. But that is my train fare saving alone without the childcare cost saving. Just waiting it in writing Smile. And he does pay pension contributions.

I cannot wait to get out of bed at 7am to go to work instead of 5.20am (children allowing)! In the school holiday I might even be able to do 8am 🤗

Wolfcub · 09/02/2018 16:03

Love that’s great news

SnugglySnerd · 09/02/2018 16:17

Another one here excited about the winter Olympics. DD1 really enjoyed the opening ceremony and I just showed her Lizzy Yarnold winning gold on YouTube. She is now also very excited. That's half term entertainment sorted!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 09/02/2018 17:35

Hi all, dd had a bit of a rubbish start to her bday as due to a motorway closure we couldn't get to the trampoline park for her party 😣 have rebooked for sunday. She is also full of cold, I think the virus she has had is coming out.

So she has felt a bit sorry for herself really, that said she liked all her presents and we had a nice afternoon.

Nsd at least.

ChristmasSeacow · 09/02/2018 17:50

Oh no Girlie! Hopefully she’ll feel better on Sunday - a silver lining perhaps?

needastrongone · 09/02/2018 17:52

That's really positive love, you are going to be so much better off in terms of time and finance. Really pleased for you.

Sorry you feel crap moan, least you can rest up this weekend.

I'm sure your DS is fine wrecked, bet he had forgotten all about it by the time of pick up arrived.

Spends
£30 cleaners.
£118 Ocado, we have friends over tomorrow for a dinner party.

Never thought to look at TU online. Good idea. What are they like for basic vests etc? Little strappy vests etc?

needastrongone · 09/02/2018 17:53

Oh girlie, your poor DD. She's have a rough time at the minute isn't she? Hope Sunday cheers her up.

SunnyLikeThursday · 09/02/2018 18:12

Moan I didn't know B&Q did free classes. Thanks for that.

Sorry to hear about your dd Girlie. Hope it gets better.

WreckTangled · 09/02/2018 18:51

£132 Harry Potter tour tickets. Not until June for dds birthday but thought we would use the council tax money from this month

£55 dh dentist.

Laska5772 · 09/02/2018 19:08

Oops! have fallen off the thread!
NSD here Smile

Laska5772 · 09/02/2018 19:10

Sorry about your Dd girlie

I am left 'cold' ( no pun intended) by Olympics and sport of all forms .. though winter ones arw a bit more interesting. I'd love to go in a bob sleigh!

SnugglySnerd · 09/02/2018 19:36

Aw Girlie your poor DD that must have been so disappointing. I hope the rest of the weekend is good.

NSD. Friday. 2 days with dh to help. Yay!

Moanranger · 09/02/2018 19:37

Sunny search DIY.com Then you register. The classes are at the larger B&Qs, I did mine in Epsom, & they were awesome. Great blokes, unfazed by any of our beginner mistakes, let us at any & all tools -table saws Shock you name it. Defo recommend.

QuiteCleanBandit · 09/02/2018 19:49

Love the winter Olympics 🥇🥈🥉🐧
So excited and have 2 weeks leave and TOIL to watch Grin
Bliss

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/02/2018 20:08

£7.50 food for tonight. I hit Tesco at the right time and am now a top wife. And I got asked for ID to buy beer. Dh has asked me if the assistant had a guide dog.

I've spent 2 hrs on the phone to Vodafone but we finally have fibre broadband.

I've only bought jeggings at tu. I bought slippers but they weren't great. Dh likes his jogging bottoms from there and Dh is fussy. I think basics like vests need to be expensive.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/02/2018 20:25

Don't bother with sainsbury imo. Cotton tops shrink, colour doesn't last before fading. That's on adult clothes btw.

Primark seamless stretch vests are the best I think.
