Here for 28 NSD and counting how much is left at the end of the month

Rather than a takeaway, I would get supermarket frozen fish and chips - cost approximately £5 for 4 people, much cheaper than a takeaway. Pop in freezer for convenience

Today I spent 1.35 on a sandwich instead of what I had the fridge at work (which I threw away as the other half of it made me feel decidedly dodgy yesterday), and 9.25 on wine, choc and crisps as it is Friday and I have had a stressful day due to being in consultation about my job being at risk. However, feeling positive and about to do online Tesco shop, being mindful about what I add to the basket. I love this thread, it has shown me how I can cut back without missing out.

madamefraser · 09/02/2018 22:14

Spent £2.85 not in food budget in Costa where I work ...um not good ..as I have had a rubbish week generally so it was comfort spending !!!
Am doing ok, I've got a bit of spare cash to take my DD to London for the day next week, gallery and lunch ...wouldn't have been able to do that without this thread !

AdoraBell · 09/02/2018 23:22

NSD.

champagneplanet · 10/02/2018 00:37

Managed to get from Money to Friday only spending £1 on non essentials, and that was for parking. Can't quite believe it, next week (half term) will be another matter together however for now I feel very pleased with myself Smile

ivykaty44 · 10/02/2018 07:53

£1 is very well done....😂

Good luck next week with half term

Gah got a parking ticket for staying in Morris ons car park too long as had to abandon broken down car there!!!
So completely unsatisfactory spend of & 50.
Also bought new socks, wellies and drinks bottles for DS. All essentials though.
Spent some of my Christmas money too, I'm eeking it out. Two tops and a picture frame. Was after jeans but didn't like any.

chickenowner · 10/02/2018 18:03

Today I spent £24 on birthday presents for a family member - it's their birthday party next weekend and I've managed to get a lift there and back so no train fare to pay - which is a £15 saving.

So not a bad day!

PirateYellowbelly · 10/02/2018 18:05

Did pretty well today. Avoided spending apart from buying a new table for our hallway, a lamp shade and a new duvet cover. All planned spending and able to use money saved in January so happy with that.

chickenowner · 10/02/2018 18:17

So 5 NSDs so far in February - not bad!

MessySurfaces · 10/02/2018 21:46

Oh no mama can you appeal it?? Seems very unfair!
I'm in holiday mode- squandered a tenner on magazines for the plane and its all downhill from here...

elvislives2012 · 10/02/2018 21:52

Hi all
Been absent! Losing my mojo for NSDs! Back on it tomorrow as I remain continuously skint?!

Gah81 · 10/02/2018 22:15

Train journey to see a sister and back. They kindly picked me up so no taxi fees. Advance ticket at £15.

I did spend £4 at McDonald's though. I just really wanted some junk food, having been good all week.

Still, not bad for a Saturday!

Chimichangaz · 10/02/2018 22:44

50.01 Tesco delivery, but 11.00 of that was beer to take to a friend's tonight, then 8.20 at the butchers. Should hopefully only need milk and bread mid week now, freezer is back to being full to bursting....Didn't drink tonight so saved taxi fares. And no hangover tomorrow- bonus!!

GreenTulips · 10/02/2018 23:45

It spent anything today other than bread and milk sugar and a bag of onion rings

Really wanted chocolate but resisted

Found a handbag for a posh event in eBay for £3 free delivery and a top brand at that! hiping to gain it bad after one use

madamefraser · 11/02/2018 10:51

Keeping an eye on things as it was a low income month for us (varies) but got enough for food so just need to keep an eye on extras for the rest of the month to make sure I don't go over . Am feeling much more cash healthy that this time last month !
£20 yesterday on socks and Taxi home for DD after a party .
Today just need a bit of food for dinner so technically should be a NSD

ivykaty44 · 11/02/2018 12:37

mamapants was the ticket sent through the post or stuck on your windscreen?

There are ways of getting out of paying but you need to appeal on the grounds that the parking company have broken data protection laws. Then they rebuke your appeal - which is fine. Then you appeal to popla- which most people don’t do and state the company have broken data protection laws and usually this works - but you have to have faith in the system

OP posts:
mamapants · 11/02/2018 13:10

It was sent through the post ivy if that makes a difference. With a picture of my car going in and a picture of it going out. Its fixed now, unfortunately I did drag my feet getting it sorted as it was fairly predictable in when it would break, except that day!

ivykaty44 · 11/02/2018 14:00

What was the date of the incident? They have 14 days to get it to you in the post - if they go over this then they have broken the rules of data protection.

You appeal on those grounds and those grounds alone and you never declare who was driving.

They will automatically send you a letter stating you have got it all wrong bla bla bla

But you then can appeal to popla

Again using the same reason they broke data protection rules

A NSD for me today. Smile

I had a day at home, I made some bread and some shortbread biscuits.

PirateYellowbelly · 11/02/2018 19:58

Not managed a NSD. Went to Matalan and couldn't resist buying a cushion - not needed but I just love it. Also bought DS a shirt which he probably does need as is growing out of his clothes v quickly. Resisted getting coffee and cakes in Starbucks but did spend £6 odd in B&M instead on drinks and snacks. At least we got much more for our money and plenty still to have during the week for lunches/snacks. Can't decide whether to take cash out for half term and tell myself that's all I can spend or whether this will actually encourage unnecessary spending?!

Yesterday wasn't good, spent £9 on breakfast for DH and I while we waiting for DD1 at her dance class. Went to buy trainers for her after that and spent £29 on trendy gymnastics gear, but no trainers! It was a treat though as she usually doesn't ask for much, bless her.

Today was an NSD as I stayed in and cleaned while DH was in bed (working nights) and DCs were out with PILs.

Going into town with DM and DCs tomorrow, that will definitely not be an NSD!

Littlechocola · 12/02/2018 00:53

NSD.
I have realised that I spend too much on wine! About £21 a week.
