ivykaty44 · 07/02/2018 21:18

Food, stamps, car batteries etc are not counted as they are essential items

So well done to everyone for NSD

3rd NSD in a row for me, I did run out of milk but thankfully we have a milkman. He gets paid once a month so I'm classing today as a NSD Grin

Chimichangaz · 07/02/2018 22:17

Managed a NSD today, woohoo! Think that's my first this month...hopefully another tomorrow, poss Fri but think I might need takeaway and wine fri night after a loooong week at work!

champagneplanet · 08/02/2018 08:56

Can I join you ladies again? Fell off the wagon a little at the end of Jan but back on it now, last month of SMP so it's much needed!

Not done too bad this week, I've had my hair cut but count that as an essential as it's been months since I last had it done and I couldn't wait any longer, I'm back at the vets tomorrow for annual boosters but at least this bill won't be massive.
I can't say I've seen much of a difference in my bank balance but that may be due to me paying as much as I can towards debts. Another lesson I need to learn

ivykaty44 · 08/02/2018 13:44

Not having a good week here...have my third spending day - hangs head, but Iam on annual leave so having stayed home I’m having a few meet ups with friends.

Another NSD for me. I was very tempted with some kindle books but reminded myself that I can visit the library on Saturday. Smile

Tomorrow I'll be going to the supermarket but am going to be very good (hopefully!) and not deviate from my list - so no chocolate, no biscuits etc.

Good for the purse and my health too!

Itis6oclocksomewhere · 08/02/2018 18:00

Had a couple of NSD which is good.
Bra shopping today as I'm in desperate need of new bras, so quite a high spend day! All necessary though.

coffeecow · 08/02/2018 18:04

Going okay here. Had to make a cake for a school cake sale so spent a few quid on Tesco getting bits for that. Other then that this has been (shockingly) a no spend week so far! Oh also had to put petrol in the car. But otherwise I'm really proud of myself Grin

PirateYellowbelly · 08/02/2018 18:56

NSD for me although just sent DH to Asda with a list that does contain a few non essentials! Running a staff training day tomorrow and wanted to treat the team to some goodies. Not long til half term and really want to keep on track while I'm off work and have DS to entertain.

Chimichangaz · 08/02/2018 20:30

Felt poorly all day, and not been a good day at the office so I bought lunch 2.60, then we've had Chinese after tonight's parents evening 21.40

Hopefully back on it tomorrow....

ivykaty44 · 08/02/2018 21:45

Ended up a NSD after all today

So after a run of 3 spending days....

ESO going well. Did buy a glass of wine for me and a (colleague) friend today as we were both attending a meeting in London but we see each other only 4 times a year and it was good to catch up. I also realised that I could travel using credit on my Oyster and then claim expenses which was a bonus! Unfortunately I am now waiting for DH to get home after calling the AA because he blew a tyre so that'll be essential but unplanned and expensive Sad spend coming up.

Littlechocola · 09/02/2018 12:46

Yesterday I sinned. £18 on tat and £7 on a bottle of wine.

I’ve got some stuff in my amazon basket I don’t need 😂shan’t buy

Littlechocola · 09/02/2018 13:48

Freudian I’m finding that even if I get as far as putting things in my online basket I can’t buy them. I suppose it’s like window shopping online!

NSD again. Managed a whole 5 days! Looking forward to the challenge of half term now.

totallyLosingIt · 09/02/2018 17:55

Only spent £1 today on some gift wrap, which I count as a necessity.
Is anyone else feeling quite precious about the money they aren't spending?! I never thought I would get such a kick out of not spending money.

chickenowner · 09/02/2018 19:16

I'm enjoying it too, and am finding that I'm changing my attitude to money. I no longer want to waste what I have.

Not a NSD for me but I only spent £15 in the supermarket to top up what we already have in at home. And I managed not to buy any unnecessary things too.

PirateYellowbelly · 09/02/2018 19:48

I'm also enjoying it. Like being resourceful and creative with what we have. Nearly caved and ordered take away tonight then got my no spend head back on and started cooking the perfectly good food that is in the fridge!

Gah81 · 09/02/2018 20:08

Today was long (this week was long) and so I nearly caved in and got a takeaway.

Happily, I resisted - helped by someone's tip on another friend a whole ago about always having something ready to eat in the fridge for as soon as you get home.
