Laska5772 · 26/01/2018 14:55

Love sorry to hear that, hope they come to a resolution soon.

wreck its lovely , but I've just decided I am going to crochet one in those sort of colours .. his will be a bit of a 'first ' project for me ..I have been practicing squares so think I am ready to try something bigger.. so sometime in the next few years i may have a blanket too! ..

Gosh, that's frustrating love. Hope they figure it out soon.

Cag I hope they find them soon. That sounds tricky too. Have they filed a missing persons alert with the police? I believe that if that's done then the police can track them using their mobile phone's positioning system by triangulating from the three nearest masts. I can imagine that that would speed things up no end.

I'm still sleeping off the flu, and hoping that ds manages to come home from school with his best friend's Mum as arranged.

needastrongone · 26/01/2018 15:42

Good news on the additional support for your DS seacow, even if that should have been in place from inception...

I reckon good sleep habits are important for all dc tbh, additional needs or not. Fingers crossed for you tonight.

How you feeling today sunny? I'm full of cold too but will do my usual carry on regardless, make myself ill and have it last twice as long because I never learn and will never changeGrin

Welcome new folk.

Love the grey and mustard colours going on. Lovely combination.

Oh love and cag, I'm sorry your DF is facing delays and that your DN is missing, any news on the latter?

So, it's my birthday today! I've had a busy morning getting my training in (PT session and track work), but someone else did the pony and DS walked the dogs.

Lovely friends have been round this afternoon for coffee and cake, I've received lots of new cook books and flowers. New jammies from DD.

DH has also bought me and DD a weekend trip to Rome, so I've been spoiled.

Going out for tea tonight and DF is coming along too.

Spends
£16 PT session.
£100 Ocado (stocked up on tea and coffee on offer among other things).

Wolfcub · 26/01/2018 16:03

Happy birthday Need

Laska5772 · 26/01/2018 16:13

I have just frugally repaired my nice grey suede boots , by restitching them up where they had started to come apart on the top of the foot.. (and only one small needle stick injury in finger -ouch ) so feeling very pleased with myself.

Happy Birthday need FlowersCakeWine. Rome ! Brilliant gift from DH ! .. Lucky you, when are you going? have a quick look at this thread for advice! I bookmarked it a little while ago because I want to go soon.

LonelyOversharer · 26/01/2018 16:18

Happy Birthday need! Glad you are having a lovely day.

love your poor dad. They will be on his heart thing v quickly though, as they have to treat him very soon.

laska if yon can do a treble crochet (like a granny square stitch) you can do a super stripy blanket. The simplest is a long chain the length of blanket you want, then do a tr into each chain, turn at the end (obvs!) and tr into each one back, change colour, and do two rows of 3tr into every 3rd stitch all the way along, change colour and go back to going into ever stitch with a tr. As this shows both sides of your work it's totally reversible, and looks like 4 different rows of stitches, instead of 2, of the same stitch.

If you use aran yarn (with a 5mm crochet hook) it will grow very quickly, and keep your lap warm while you do it!

Tescos £20, haggis for tea, cash. £17 chicken food.

Ends up like this (lifted off internet, not one of mine!)

Thanks all. She is safe. Physically at least. Far, far from ideal situation given her needs, but we can work with it. In fact we may be in a better position to keep an eye on them ourselves now as she is nearer us for the moment... if she lets us, IYSWIM. Bloody tricky. Families are hard! But she is safe and in a known location.

Happy birthday need welcome catty (did I miss another newbie too, apologies and welcome if so!) and aaargh love so sorry about that delay, how unnecessarily frustrating that they didn’t realise this earlier.

Good day here apart from the worry/lack of sleep, there has been spending on caffeine!!!

Love I would be very grateful for the size 3 nappies if that’s ok please, Cagletini has just gone into that size and we are planning to try swimming once she’s had her third jabs in four weeks time. Assuming she still fits by then, she is growing so fast :o

Thank you re: DH, he was pretty rattled but he ignored her (and didn’t rise to her going round telling everyone how her darling son was being so cruel 🙄) and even managed the wake, I am bloody proud of him actually, turns out it’s more like 20 years since he’s seen her and it was hard enough a few times when she’s sent letters etc. It’s awkward because it’s actuslly exW who has encouraged a relationship with his mum, just as a way to mess with him, she knows exactly what happened to him but plays it down. Why you’d want your children to have a relationship with an abuser just to prove some kind of point I have no fucking clue. Thankfully she has got the message that our own little branch of the family is not ever going to give in (Caglets are aware DH’s real mum Wasn’t Very Nice and that’s why we don’t see her).

Did I mention families are hard? 🤔

Anyway. Frugal stuff. Errrrm £12.50 bus travel (as out of county - could have been slightly less if I was organised. £3.74 Boots on lunch, Caglets threw something together for themselves though, as DH and I were somewhat busy sorting other crazy stuff this morning.

Science workshop was fab and a good chance to catch up with friends too. Came home and played piano for a bit - a rare treat these days - bit of cleaning and now feeding Cagletini before ballet.

LonelyOversharer · 26/01/2018 16:37

laska if you're looking for yarn, definatley don't go to woolwarehouse.co.uk and don't use sc33 as a coupon to get 10% off. I would never enable a yarn purchase.

Laska5772 · 26/01/2018 16:41

Smile. I would never accuse you of being so.. How much do i need love for say a double bed size blanket ?

Happy birthday need

SunnyLikeThursday · 26/01/2018 16:52

I'm a bit better today thanks, and ds made it home with my friend who is his best friend's mum, so that was good. We've never done that before.

Bonus fun - I took stuff out to the compost bin and there was a big jolly rat in it running round and round in shock at my opening the lid. Looked quite huggable, but I won't obviously. Not the done thing.

Wolfcub · 26/01/2018 17:42

Sat and worked out incomings and outgoing for the joint account for next month to account for the increased bills for utilities and insurances etc. My advice to everyone is never move in January. 11 years later this is still a crappy month to have renewals in! On the plus side if I’m careful I think I will have a bit extra for ds’s school trip payment in February but I also need to remember it’s half term which is a potentially spendy time too

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/01/2018 18:02

Happy Birthday Need 🍾 Rome sounds lovely.

MeadowHay · 26/01/2018 18:32

Attempting to catch up a bit but tbh it's just impossible now there are so many of us it moves so fast Smile.

Flowers for love and Cag

Happy birthday need!

Seacow Thanks for the book offers, could you PM me what they are? I have two from one of DH's aunt's who has a toddler, one is ginormous, read a bit of it but it's mostly about baby's first year of development so will read more just before baby comes or I will forget it all now anyway.

Had anomaly scan today, everything was fine although baby was laying in a silly position so we couldn't get a photo, and they couldn't check their heart properly, so I have to go back for another scan in a few weeks to check the heart.

MeadowHay · 26/01/2018 18:37

Also spends was about £8 for DH and I's lunch in the hospital - veggie curry and rice was £3 Shock ! Love a good subsidised canteen! Then £1.60 in my work canteen on some snacks.

Part of our hoover is broken though so we will need to order a new part so that's not very frugal Angry. We are also eating soup for tea that my DM made us and had my DF deliver yesterday Grin so that is frugal too.

LonelyOversharer · 26/01/2018 18:54

Well I've slipped into the internet hole that is PUL fabric. This is the waterproof on one side fabric that reusable nappies are made of! I mean I knew it existed, but still! I may have to buy a few small pretty bits...you can buy dolls reusable nappies, but I mostly found them on etsy, coming from the US. I love crafty research.

The haggis had a lot of pepper in it. Served in giant yorkies (that I bought Blush) was still very nice. I forgot to get bread rolls, so made some dough instead. It takes a moment in the mixer, I really should do it more often.

Are you 20 weeks already meadow?! Half way, although it will seem forever for you with hg.

MazDazzle · 26/01/2018 19:02

Hi folks, can I join in?

I’ve been on the thread yonks ago, but probably under a different name.

January has been a really tough month moneywise. Trying desperately to pull us out of our overdraft. Like you Wolfcub, we’ve had loads of bills: MOT x 2, road tax x 2, car insurance and house insurance. Once we’re clear of our overdraft, I’m going to start putting away money every month so we’re not short this time next year.

Spends today have been £4 on cards and £6 on 2 jars of coffee.

It’s payday on Monday, so I’m hoping to start of being frugal rather than be frivolous and skint by the end of the month!

SnugglySnerd · 26/01/2018 19:34

Pleased to hear they have turned up Cag.

Happy birthday Need.

I have unexpectedly been paid! It must be a tax refund. It isn't much but it all helps.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/01/2018 19:37

Welcome Maz
