catty welcome yes but the different incomes thing is a non issue here
we all want to do the best with the money we have and this is whats so great about this thread.
Me, I am working F/T and so is DH and income is pretty good right now, kids grown and flown so we are much better off than we used to be.. But Ive been there also - single parent on benefits , poor student.. and a lot of that frugality is still active in me if you dont count my Hush habit
BUT we are both just about to both retire ( and hopefully buy a campervan to go traveling - Ive been saving up for it for some time now) . its going to be a huge difference so we need to get the best out of our money,.. I am doing a bit of house updating right now which does cost , but then its a once in 20 years thing for me!!
can I suggest you look at YNAB (you need a budget). it does cost , but it utterly changed my spending life. when i started her i was in credit card and other debt.. I 'm not now because it gave me a real handle on where my money was going, which despite being fairly bright i could never quite work out before
Anyway welcome again.. we are a friendly chatty bunch here all with the same aim..
BTW everyone there's the Big switch 9 just about to go live. I wont be as already with OVO and they are telling me I need to reduce my current DD to £50 (which is great)
Am working at home again today but Ive already had to spend £15 on a new replacement glass inner for my cafetiere teapot (grr) as I smashed it against the sink tap this morning
