Anothershirt I like Mortgage -free in 3 although I haven't looked at it for ages.
Not a blog but Pinterest for recipes and cheap/free kids' activities.

ChristmasSeacow · 24/01/2018 10:18

Hope today is okay for your DH Cag.

And sorry about the redundancy Shirt, although it sounds as though it will be a relief for you. Onwards and upwards.

Awful night with DD - we moved her into her own room for the first time and she wasn’t keen. I think it’s the bigger cot - with the crib she could touch the sides and she did. We only really slept 2.30-3.30am and then 4.30-6am. She’s very grumpy today. We might defer the proper sleep training till tomorrow or Friday to give her a bit more time to acclimatise to her new room. And hopefully did me to be better rested too, as it’s gojng to be hard enough being tough without being tired too!

Will PM you LLL. Although the lady works locally to my bit of London so I am not sure whether she’d take on a client south of the river (as I think you are?) . However, if you don’t want bedtime support, just advice, distance shouldn’t matter. Try her and see, I am impressed so far with how she delivers the support. I know the methods will work too (did similar with DS) though speed of improvement depends on the stubbornness of the baby! Hope we both get more sleep soon.

Just spent another £8 on top up of fruit, baguette and a bunch of daffs for £1. And went to P.O. (ovulation monitor on its way Love , sorry for being slow!)

Need to buy a printer today as it’s very inconvenient without one. So ££££.

Mummycatface · 24/01/2018 10:19

Apartment sold. Boom. Done. Offer over the asking price accepted.

Thanks for the new thread laksa I’ll be back later to catch up once I’ve gotten over the house shock...!

SnugglySnerd · 24/01/2018 10:31

Great news Catface. Congratulations!

needastrongone · 24/01/2018 10:42

Wow fantastic news catface, were you wearing your lucky fleece for the viewings or something?Grin

Sounds like the loss of the job is a blessing in disguise shirt, fingers crossed that your MH will improve now.

Oh Adora, I'm sorry to hear about your FIL. The toll on your family must be hard, I hope your DH is bearing up. Thanks

wrong we are on a roll with horse rugs at the minute, haven't had to buy one in a while. Thankfully.....

I'm sat reviewing sky package now. With a view to changing or haggling.

Next will be plusnet but they are usually good at offering a decent deal if you call.

ChristmasSeacow · 24/01/2018 11:01

Great news Catface and very quick compared to your last experience. What’s changed - has the market picked up locally?

Question for you all: do distance selling regulations (right to return and refund within 14 days) apply to sale items as well? I bought lots of fancy yarn from an independent producer in a recent sale and while I like some of it, a couple of the yarns are not quite what I expected so I want to return them. Seller didn’t include any returns info in the package.

Mummycatface · 24/01/2018 11:14

seacow the thing that changed is the weather. Our apartment has no outside space. While it’s lovely on a sunny day (light bright and airy) we have to leave to be outside.
In winter time it’s lovely and warm. People like to be indoors. Hence why we popped it back on mid winter.

That said it’s an affordable (for here) 2 bed apartment. It’s super spacious. Which a lot of other 2 beds aren’t.

mammymammyIRL · 24/01/2018 11:18

Woo hoo mummycatface that was speedy Grin

All this talk about printers got me thinking about mine it's on WiFi but I never set it up on this phone & haven't used it in about 18 months, I just print at work!

Home sick from work with aches & pains everywhere, have left a message for doctor to ring me hoping she'll give me a cert without me going to see her €10 vs €50. I've got a common cold & had antibiotics just two weeks ago so it should be ok

Going to get my car to garage this afternoon for repair while I'm off anyhow.

I like cait Flanders blog

WreckTangled · 24/01/2018 11:29

Wow catfce that's amazing! How exciting!

ChristmasSeacow · 24/01/2018 11:39

Ah. Funny how people’s perception is so based on ‘now’ but I suppose it’s like having a pkacecwell dressed to sell - some people just can’t project beyond what they see. Defo a good move to sell now even if it means moving twice. I did it when selling the flat I owned previously and buying this house - rented for 6m. Was well worth it to be in a good position and, while moving twice was a ballache, it was brilliant not having a chain on both sides of us.

SunnyLikeThursday · 24/01/2018 11:51

Well done Catface, that's great. :-)

I have been making videos again today, a little bit more successfully, so that's good. :-)

AnotherShirtRuined · 24/01/2018 12:05

Thanks for the suggestions of Cait Flanders and Mortgage-free in 3. I will have a look.

AnotherShirtRuined · 24/01/2018 12:06

Oh and congratulations on the flat sale Catface!

AdoraBell · 24/01/2018 13:02

Thanks need, DH is keeping busy so he doesn’t think about it. Typical of him, avoid rather than deal with the emotional side. He’s away for meetings right now.

Shirt glad that redundancy is positive for you, hope your Union friend can help.

Well done Catface 👍😁

Thanks for new thread Laksa

NSD today. It’s persisting down here and I feel disinclined to leave the house.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/01/2018 14:48

Fantastic news Catface. You did really well to sell so quickly.

Sea Ive never seen anything to say sale stuff not included. It's not distance selling though now, I think it's changed its title.

£1.20 hydrogen peroxide
£1.40 mouthwash & smart price garlic bread
£2 organic soya milk
£3.50 Aldi. Bread & eggs.

£10 petrol.

Waitrose order done for Friday pm.

Mummycatface · 24/01/2018 14:58

thanks guys.

we went to view the nice house a second time (well my second time dh's first). he didn't love it. so we're not taking it any further.

he wants me instead to arrange viewings on more expensive less space houses. because they have scope to extend to a 4 bed.... house we looked at today is already a 4 bed. has a small (but manageable) south facing garden, and no need for extending.

i think maybe dh wants to do building work. sigh.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/01/2018 16:17

Sigh indeed.

LonelyOversharer · 24/01/2018 16:29

catface fantastic to sell so quickly! Out of that bloody awful situation asap. Yay. You need to have some loud words with your dh re building work. You need a house that is what you need now as you don't have long before you'll be back at work. And this next couple of years with ds you will not get back. He won't be a wee baby for long. Nice. Loud. Clear. Words.

We did an epic trek down to see our bike supplier today. Tis all good. Phew. We got back at 1514. Right as ds came out if his class, double phew. I put £40 fuel in, but I got some cash from dp, so all (minor) spends were cash. I haven't been to the supermarket yet this week.

I rented a 20' shipping container yesterday. Just 6 miles from us, so very easy to visit to sort and collect stuff from. It is £80 a month, which beats £540 rent on the unit. We will move down to a 10' one in a couple of weeks once I've raked through the stuff more. We also sold a hard case bike box (we used to rent them out), which is huge, so a big chunk of the "stuff" is gone.

My gateway log in thing came today. Odds on it working??

needastrongone · 24/01/2018 16:33

Remind him that extending was his idea when DS is toddling about, you are both back at work and possibly there's another dc on the horizon, being considered or even with you. Remind him how knackered he is at the minute. Remind him building work always cost twice as much and goes on twice as long ha ha.

Reviewed all my contracts and I'm on the best deals. Feel I'm sorted now.

Wolfcub · 24/01/2018 17:36

catface great news on the sale. I second the comments on building work. Having had to unexpectedly and unwillingly have to do work on our house during and after mat leave I do not recommend it at all and we didn’t have to do anything as major as an extension

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 24/01/2018 17:43

Hi all, thanks for the new fred laska 😊

4th Nsd in a row 😇

That's great news the apartment sold so quick catface building work with a young baby sounds like hell so would be discouraging that idea!!

Dds finger looks much better thank god the antibiotics have kicked in!

PollyShelbyLifeCoachServices · 24/01/2018 17:50

Howdy gang! Wow new thread again, NSD here, today and yesterday, couldn't post yesterday daughter was sent from school to A&E, but she is fine, so I'm back! Payday tomorrow Smile roll on midnight and the tracking will start again!

Mummycatface · 24/01/2018 18:01

Will def be discouraging it. I’ve no issue in theory. We did kitchen living room and bathroom one year all at the same time. But knowing dh it won’t be in a few years itd be this year.

Fine if we get a bargain house. Fine if we can spend time on it. Not fine if we pay a fortune and it’s something we have to do.

£0.98 on two stamps today.

eBay bundle sold too. So that’s £17 in PayPal.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/01/2018 18:20

Trying to think of a way of eating out reasonably in Slough...I have a taste card.

Premier inn want £50 for breakfast & dinner. The rooms only £40 Confused

LonelyOversharer · 24/01/2018 18:41

It's just such a nightmare with young dc catface prepping baby food/milk with no kitchen - nightmare, while ds crawls towards tools/electrics/bags of plaster... washing ds after he's crawled through the plaster/got the lid off the paint (dd3, I only ran downstairs for a nappy) with no working bath or sink... Maybe if you find a place that needs immediate work you can live at your parents until it is done?

Quick cupboard tea of homemade sausage rolls, plain pasta and peas. Dp has gone out to collect a bike, and will bring milk home (and chocolate if he expects to be let back in). So no real need to shop tomorrow.

I start to move the boxes from the shop to storage tomorrow. I'm also going to take the christmas decorations, to get them out of the living room.
