Well done lonely!

Girlie what for? Seems strange to go straight to steroids when she's not asthmatic or anything (is she?) I thought she had a sore throat.

Bornlazy · 05/02/2018 17:56

Girlie hope the doctor has put your mind at ease.

Had a spendy weekend as went out for dinner on Saturday night - £86. It was planned though so don't feel too bad.

Spent £85 in Lidl Shock... I mean who the hell spends that in Lidl??Actually came out and checked my receipt as I was sure there must be a mistake.

NSD today. Have established that the only way to avoid spending money is to not leave the house.

LonelyOversharer · 05/02/2018 18:17

bornlazy me. I spent over £100 once. It was a shit load though!

Have tried an experiment. Microwave brownies. So easy, but we shall see! Good old pintrest. Pizza in the oven. Frugally topped with yesterdays pulled pork.

Taytocrisps · 05/02/2018 18:34

Bornlazy DH goes to Aldi/Lidl and manages to spend anywhere between €100 and €150! I honestly don't know what he spends the money on because it doesn't seem to include much in the way of dinner ingredients. He complains that Tesco is expensive but I can do the weekly shop for €60 - €70 in Tesco.

lifelongfrugaleer · 05/02/2018 18:45

£8 Morrison's.

QuiteCleanBandit · 05/02/2018 18:50

Is he hitting the aisle of random Tayto?
I have to drag DH out sometimes 😂
I did a huge Aldi shop before Christmas but its usually 30-40 .
mammyNigellas supper onion.pie has a homemade cheese pastry -like cheese scones so I dont think puff would work .
You could a goats cheese and red onion tart ?
It snowed today .

needastrongone · 05/02/2018 19:04

God I actually feel bloody crap. I was sent to DH's office today so as not to spread my crapness around. Grin

That's brilliant news about your DS north, he really deserves to get on that plane so much. I bet training this last week will have helped psychologically too. Thanks re DS, I do worry about him, he's such a quiet under-confident kid. Going away will do him good.

Re Aldi/Lidl, I have a theory, you believe it's so cheap that you randomly chuck everything in the trolley with gay abandon. The specials aisle is lethal, you can always convince yourself you need that two man collapsible canoe just because it's £9.99...

Alternatively you don't give credit to the expensive shops for their bargains. Marks do these wasabi peas that DS loves for £1.20, they are £2 at Sainsbury's!!

filter I sometimes think I should draw out my wage on payday, go into the field and chuck it all at the pony...might as well some months.

What did you offer on em?

lonely that's exactly it re starting high school, it's a shit storm in a cup for all the things you mention, more for girls than boys in my experience of one..

Managed a NSD

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/02/2018 19:07

SnugglySnerd · 05/02/2018 19:18

NSD.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/02/2018 19:26

I didn't think they'd do it so early. It'll be off sale stuff too.

WreckTangled · 05/02/2018 19:38

It's half term next week so that's maybe why, it's earlier than usual this year.

Laska5772 · 05/02/2018 19:46

Weird day today.

Lovely morning/lunchtime having a catch up with a friend who has just started maternity leave

Going to a friends work tomorrow for a chat/interview about a job. Although likely to be poorly paid (as in almost half my current hourly pay) but plus side 8 minutes from home and likely school hours. Now i’ve looked into childcare for DD2 it’ll probably be a no-go as it’ll unlikely fit a nursery morning session and may have to pay for the whole day, but will go and see what is on offer.

I’ve got no cv or anything to take and no application or anything written so feels very strange. It may make me decide the grass is greener where I currently am though Hmm . I didn’t realise until today I was quite attached to my current good pension which was a revelation.

My dad is off to see the consultant again late tomorrow afternoon. But not the heart people so not sure what to think of that.

Glad the package arrived cag

I have read but have forgotten what you have all been up to already!

mammymammyIRL · 05/02/2018 21:22

Fluffy I don't know because weathers been good so I haven't used it! On sat clothes dried outdoors for 1.5 hours & a few bits went on fire guard to finish off. We still have big child's fire guard even though ds is 4, I'm not in any rush to get rid of it Grin we've had it for about 7 years, I think I'll be nervous of the fire myself when we get rid Grin

Girlie if that's what she needs & she gets better quickly that's all that matters

First link doesn't work HmmBlush

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 05/02/2018 21:27

Thanks all, I spoke to the dr again and she agreed to just use the inhalers tonight but she wants to see her tomos morning to double check. I think the issue is she does have asthma but I've been a bit head in the sand about it. It has been a hard day as brings back all the stress and anxiety of when she was ill before 😟 totally agree that year 7 is a perfect storm, between illness and friendship upsets I've hardly had time to draw breath!!

I've told work I'll be off again tomos 😕 might have to take it as annual leave.

Spent £33 petrol and £21 in asda today, that was on baby clothes for my new nephew! We were in asda picking up dds prescription and they have a baby event on.

Wolfcub · 06/02/2018 05:57

Wrote a nice long post and lost it. ☹️ Long London day today and I’m knackered already. Yesterday wasn’t a no spend day in the end as I needed diesel £55 and £1 for the air machine as the Tpms went off on the motorway

ememem84 · 06/02/2018 07:57

What a day yesterday was.

Argued with Dm who then just kept coming back for more. Literally. She let herself back into our flat twice. I told her the first time I wasn’t having the same conversation again. She kept arguing with me about me being stressed. And kept reiterating that I’m stressed and doing too much. I know this. I e recognised it and an dealing.

Kept telling me I’m making them (dparents) Ill with worry (thanks for that make me feel worse...) and I should be over it by now as dh and I had dinner out the other day. 😖 she also told me my house was a shit tip. And that I’m neglecting ds because I’m househunting.

Anyway. Got to the gym yesterday so that’s a bonus. And finally we saw a house dh liked. Sadly the location is wrong...

Today’s jobs:

Food shop.
Post office
Change bedding.

Wolfcub · 06/02/2018 08:30

Oh Em that’s just what you don’t need. It may come from love and concern for you but it’s not constructive. You are not neglecting ds, you are trying to find the right home for your family and the state of your house doesn’t matter - I bet it isn’t a state anyway, my mother’s idea of tidy (nuclear lab standard) and mine are not the same. Doesn’t means most of my house isn’t tidy

Cagliostro · 06/02/2018 08:44

Good grief em that must have been a shock. I thought your mum was normally really supportive and helpful? It’s a shame if that comes at a cost (ie her having a go at you for it). What a way to make sure your daughter no longer confides in you. FFS. 💐
