Morning.
Cag hope she feels better soon. Babies are such a worry when the go from being fine to poorly in such a quick time. The reason that she seems worse at night is that the front bit of the brain switches off - that allows the instinctive part to take over as the cough reflex is not being suppressed. I was having a moan at a mate of mine that is a gp about not being able to sleep due to coughing through the night. Being the lovely friend she she explained the science and then added that it is because I am super intelligent... I don't think it is true except for the caglini
Shoop I can't wait for the 15th either.

Today is going to be a day of housework.....

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 04/02/2018 09:43

Morning all Smile

Hope caglitini is o.kay cag babies are a constant source of worry I found!! And then they turn into children and the worry just extends Wink

Had a funny sort of a day in the end yesterday, went to see my new nephew in the hospital but when we got there my dbrother wouldn't let dd in as apparently its a siblings only rule on the ward Hmm dd was understandably very upset and I was quite pissed off. Had I known about that rule I wouldn't have taken her up to the hospital only to be disappointed. Was a shame as spoiled what should have been a lovely first glimpse of my nephew.

Oh well, families huh.

Had tea at my mums in the end yesterday which was nice, was thinking I need to do a food shop today but may eek out what we have until Tuesday and go to Lidls as I have a voucher and can go when dd is at her drama group. We are short on veg but otherwise have stuff in the freezer we can eat until then.

Need to pop to the vets and pick up a px for the cats, my diabetic cat needs more insulin needles, I managed to make the last lot last a really long time by being very careful with them. The vet told me it is fine to use the same needle more than once on him.

Cagliostro · 04/02/2018 09:55

Wow unescorted that’s intriguing thank you! I shall explain that to the Caglets too as they are currently watching Operation Ouch (one of the better CBBC shows IMO)

She is still coughing but not as much and is back to gurgles and trying to sit up. Awwww at DS em what a star 👣 I love babyhood, every milestone is just amazing isn’t it? Seeing them change every day. I do wish it wasn’t going so fast though.

Got another 4ish hours after posting so not too bad considering. Another boring Sunday ahead (DH working as usual).

QuiteCleanBandit · 04/02/2018 10:07

Need to exercise today
Its quite sunny so no excuses

Girlieevery Mat ward I have ever been on has this as a strict rule -I dont think your DB is to blame !
I should really do some baking but not really in the mood.
Eeeeeee Shetland series 4 starts on 13th Feb -😍😍😍 love this !!

Wolfcub · 04/02/2018 10:26

Rugby cancelled so I’ve done the very exciting ironing instead. Also managed to set fire to the slow cooker power cord, it leaped out of my hand and into the gas flame. I put it out quickly and it hasn’t burned through the outer coating so I’m sure it will be fine. Realised we didn’t get ds a shirt for the valentines dance but after last week’s shopping trip I’m not sure I can cope with another! Dh going away with work today for a week. On the plus side the house will stay tidy and it’ll be cheap but I also have a busy week of work trips so a lot of favours needed from dparents and no one to take the pressure off when ds is being a tween horror

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/02/2018 10:43

Bandit, get out there and do the fitness! She says from her sofa having skipped class. Going to garden later though.
£15 Argos but Christmas voucher as my bathroom scales broke.
£22 sainsbury and £10 deisel. £25 in Nectar points now.

mammymammyIRL · 04/02/2018 11:55

Unfortunately girlie that's the case in our maternity unit too, keeps the chaos down Grin

Cagliostro · 04/02/2018 12:08

Hmmph trying to install the shopandscan software and it’s not working. 😡

WreckTangled · 04/02/2018 12:46

Same here girlie I'm not sure it's always been this way but certainly more recently. Along with no flowers etc. It's all due to infection control. In scbu it's siblings parents and grandparents only which is crap as I could really have done with my best friend there.

Ds is being awful and dh is being a dick.

WreckTangled · 04/02/2018 12:49

Also have just noticed that the inside of my car door is all scratched where I've (unknowingly really) been opening the door with my foot Blush dh is going to go mad at me

ChristmasSeacow · 04/02/2018 13:19

I still haven’t pointed out the ruined sofa Wreck. DH doesn’t notice much. I have to tell him tonight though as I have to cover it up with something for visitors.

We’re off to the local NT place to wear DS out for a bit. I am peed off because I seem to be constantly cooking, tidying and cleaning but the house is still a tip - I will have to spend my whole evening doing housework tonight when the kids are in bed. Only one more week till half term too, then the mess will get even worse!

Also peed off because as we head up the M11 I can see huge traffic queues the other way, so we are probably going to get stuck going home. Angry

lifelongfrugaleer · 04/02/2018 13:33

Say nowt wreck. If it's the trim it will buff out with polish, paint t cut.

2 hours in the garden, will run to the tip when dh is back with dd from swimming

Laska5772 · 04/02/2018 14:05

Christmas for your sofa the best ones I have tried are Astonish Carpet and Upholstery cleaner .. .also Oxyclean spray . HG products are really good also

Wolfcub · 04/02/2018 14:06

seacow I feel exactly like that too. It’s neverending and if dh and ds were just a bit more considerate my life would be a lot easier but my pleas seem to fall of deaf ears

needastrongone · 04/02/2018 14:15

I was told by a washing machine engineer once that using a dishwasher tablet on a 90 degree cycle helps keep it clean.

NSD, DH has gone off to Edinburgh.

I am so full of cold today, i'm going to have a sleep on the sofa now. Forced myself to do 18 miles this morning as it's not on my chest and i need to get the long runs in. Sometimes it's good to run when you don't feel like it, gives you a bit of mental strength during the tough parts of the marathon.

It's a cut back week anyway next week.

We didn't plait the pony fluffy, it chucked it down yesterday (probably didn't help the cold, standing in it for 3 hours) and the yard owner messaged to say not to go to the trouble.

Laska5772 · 04/02/2018 15:03

I use HG service engineer on outr washing machine its really good .

On way back from town, got tixylix for Cagletini. Unexpectedly Caglet-free which always seems to mean I spend more mindlessly 😕🙁 but I did put more stuff back on the shelves so must be a slight improvement

Spends
£9 boots, medicine and mouthwash
£12 lunch. Alone (well baby slept through anyway). BLISS.
£11 sainsburys thanks to you lot talking about nectar giveaway 😂
£1 poundland... Caffeine 😳

I got a 500 point coupon, just realised I should have scanned it there and then as now I'll have to go back soon. Don't actually know how to do it 😳

mammymammyIRL · 04/02/2018 15:14

Dh for once is stepping up to the mark.
I've got a quiet house so I can nap. Ds 4 is gone to his first ever preschool birthday party & is thrilled. He's got nice jeans & shirt on & has been ready to go for two hours the excitement Grin dh said he'd take him so I didn't need to get dressed & himself & dd are going for a walk while it's on Grin

This has happened because after taking dd shopping yesterday, Dunnes only, ds for haircut & picking up a couple of bits in Aldi for dh, I was wiped & came home driving at 60kph instead of usual 90kph & told dh I wasn't able to go back to work on Monday & I wasn't able to cook dinner either. Not frugal dh got takeaway.
I think I'll ring doctor to extend my sick cert to Wed.

On the plus side it'll be a NSD Smile
This morning I took a cheesecake base out of freezer as I'd too much a few weeks ago & made Mary berry lemon mascarpone topping for it.
Also made Sicilian chicken while dh had oven on & when I'm tired later it'll only be tagliatelle that needs cooking.

WreckTangled · 04/02/2018 15:23

I've made apple crumble cookies. My aunt and nan and grandad sent us away with two packs of four chocolate bars Grin and des is so much breakfast we haven't needed lunch. So frugal day.

Dinner is roast gammon with cauliflower cheese, cabbage and leeks and...? Not sure what carb to do. I cba with roasties because I did those Friday and no one likes mash apart from me.

needastrongone · 04/02/2018 15:30

Could you do cauliflower mac and cheese wrecked for your carb? I'm sure your DH wouldn't be cross re the car, it's hardly your fault!

Think you can scan the voucher at the customer services desk cag.

needastrongone · 04/02/2018 15:32

You really have had full on proper flu haven't you mammy, or what I would define as flu. Most folk call it flu and have cold imho. Poor you, it's wiped you out. X

WreckTangled · 04/02/2018 15:32

Mmm I like the sound of than need, I don't think the dc will eat it but maybe they can have coleslaw and salad instead.

He's so paranoid about us getting charged loads when the lease is up he will be annoyed 😒

QuiteCleanBandit · 04/02/2018 15:34

Walked 4 miles .
Decided to walk unaided over a cattle grid and fell into it . (I fall a lot )
Cue men running over to help and had to be hauled off it and literally planted back onto my feet .
Was wearing a denim mini with wooly tights and boots so the walkers all saw my arse 😭
Fat knee and massive bruises .
Otherwise a lovely day Grin, watching rugby now by the fire .
Fish and Chips later (shared)

QuiteCleanBandit · 04/02/2018 15:35

I always run a 90C wash (empty) with a dishwasher tablet in the washer once a month

mammymammyIRL · 04/02/2018 15:37

Wreck my car door would seem to indicate it's your door so no reason for your dh to have any comment on its appearance Grin

Need yep it's definitely flu had it last January also, you don't sound too great yourself today, at least your dh is away so you can completely chill.
