I was sooo annoyed when I had to take it off TBH! But they made me because they said I had to have an epidural basically (as I was so close to needing a section anyway, they said it was the best option and then they'd ramp up the drip again). Gits :o

I even ended up using it for afterpains about a week after the birth, they really are fab. :)

WreckTangled · 17/11/2017 19:43

I know seacow it upsets me Grin

Woo hoo cag!

I’m in bed with dd washing children in need. Have ordered food shopping click and collect tomorrow as had a £7 off voucher and won’t have time to go to Lidl and mil is treating us to the cinema to see Paddington 2.

ememem84 · 17/11/2017 21:21

i never used a tens machine even though we have one and took it with us there wasn’t time for pain relief until after ds was out all hail gas and air

Go cag!!! I can’t imagine going out with 3! I struggle with just going out with ds.

Cagliostro · 18/11/2017 05:18

Sigh. Am in A&E (thankfully they let me bring Cagletini). Epic pain earlier which they reckon is either gallbladder or kidney stones :( have just been discharged as pain improved they didn't want to irradiate me with a CT scan! So have to see GP and get ultrasound. Waiting for taxi and fielding advances from drunk guy. FML!!!

mammymammyIRL · 18/11/2017 06:27

Cag sorry to hear that, hope you're on the way home with cagletini & drunk guy is moving from the drunk to severely hungover stage Wink

MissingMo · 18/11/2017 06:30

Oh @cag! I'm so sorry to hear you're unwell, especially after your good day yesterday. Hopefully it won't be too painful whilst you wait for the gp and ultrasound

mammymammyIRL · 18/11/2017 06:30

Getting up for work - aargh - but getting it as time in lieu to attend dc's Christmas plays Grin

WreckTangled · 18/11/2017 06:48

Oh no cag how horrible!! I hope you’re ok. Gallbladder is awful I’ve heard and my dad gets kidneys stones so I know how bad they are.

needastrongone · 18/11/2017 06:59

Oh Cag, I hear anecdotally that either stone is extremely painful. Hope you are okay.

Should be a NSD, bringing the box up from the farm to clear out but that’s it. Quiet weekend.

WreckTangled · 18/11/2017 07:16

Mil is taking us to the cinema to see Paddington 2 today. Her treat to I will offer to buy popcorn. Then the dc will probably want a macdonalds because it’ll be after one when it finishes. Have ordered food from Tesco 72. I’m excited as I get to drive my new car again Grin I also need to buy dd a little mix t shirt for the concert next week!

mammymammyIRL · 18/11/2017 07:23

Sounds like a lovely day planned out wreck
congrats on new wheels too

dh is doing grocery shopping, he's horrified to find out that he'll have to bring both dc with him Angry apparently he's got a terrible pain in his back which has come on and coincides with my trip to Birmingham, he'll just have to suck it up like I've done many times when I've been ill and had sole responsibility for dc. Sleeping on the couch & not taking any pain relief will have really helped his back won't it. I'm not letting him ruin my trip away [rant over emoticon]

like sunny I'm not getting much chance to read here, but I don't want to lose my place either.

SunnyLikeThursday · 18/11/2017 07:29

Know the feeling Mammy It's all go here.

MissingMo · 18/11/2017 07:32

@mammy enjoy your trip away even of it is for work.

@wreck let me know how Paddington Is, was thinking of taking the dniece and dnephew

I'm at the station waiting to take a train to work for a KIT day. Nervous to leave dd especially as it looks like she's teething so very sad and wakeful last night despite the medicine and cuddles. Left her with dp and he's nervous because of how she's been. Hopefully all will be okay.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 18/11/2017 07:39

Oh no Cag I had gallstones and the pain was horrific, whereabouts was this pain? For gallstones its normally on the upper right side, i felt like someone was crushing me. Also did it come on after eating something? If the pain was more in the back would probably be kidney stones.

I am off to work, hi ho hi ho

mammymammyIRL · 18/11/2017 08:15

@missingmo trip away isn't for work, I'm at work now - flying at 6am tomorrow so leave for Dublin at lunchtime today Grin

my dm likened gallstones to a heart attack, my db drove her to hospital one day thinking that's what was happening to her.

Loveabaconsandwich · 18/11/2017 08:20

Ah cag what a rubbish thing to have on top of everything else. Hope you have made it home safely and can get some rest today

em I never used my tens machine either- on both occasions. My colleague borrowed it and it helped her through her three day labour Grin Sold well second hand on eBay

Has DH heard back from his job interview hamburgers? I’m sorry about everything, especially about DH falling off the wagon. Is he willing/able to address it with AA again yet?

meadow it sounds so horrible for you too. I so hope you can find the right medication to make life possible again soon.

I still don’t feel well. But feel somewhat self-indulgently miserable at the moment as other people have it so much worse.

Got someone coming round to quote to do our driveway today. Will be rather spendy but will be using the money from PIL.

Loveabaconsandwich · 18/11/2017 08:22

Sorry your DH is being unreasonable mammy. But you must enjoy your trip away

LonelyOversharer · 18/11/2017 08:59

cag hope you have some relief now, and some sleep. Get your ultrasound booked asap. If it's gallbladder the road is long and painful. The sooner you get going on the road the better. Not sure about kidney stones, guessing they too are hideously painful. Certain foods were very triggering for dp, made the pain so much worse. He finally had his gallbladder out (very straightforward op) last december.

mammy where is your line? There is a word for husbands who scupper any fun with very bad sudden illness. Other than complete twat. Good for you for not pandering to it. Have lots of fun while you are away. You come over as such a strong independent woman, who is living with a bit of a rubbish one. Flowers

Not much on today. I'm the only one awake. Dogs and ferrets done, want a coffee, but would have to move again for that!

ememem84 · 18/11/2017 09:07

Agree mammy enjoy your trip. That’s an order.

Our tens machine isn’t a pregnancy specific one. So dh uses is for his sports injuries.

Dh has stood up to mil this morning. I woke up and they were Skyping. She’s booked her flights to come over next year (hooray....!) she arrives the day before we’d planned on getting ds christened. She knew this was the plan. She’s now said that she’s absolutely going to be too jet lagged to go to a big event so maybe we can just do it the next weekend instead. Dh said no. That’s the date. Good for him.

She’ll be here for 2 weeks. Presumably she’ll be staying here. Sigh. But I’ll be back at work then so won’t have to deal with her much except evenings and weekends.

She also asked him how “Emma” was. She knows that’s not my name.

cag feel better soon xx

Loveabaconsandwich · 18/11/2017 09:12

How rude can she be em??! You should tell DH to tell her to get your name right next time or she won’t be staying

Where’s fluffy gone?

WreckTangled · 18/11/2017 09:16

Wow em. I’m afraid I wouldn’t have room for her to stay.

Mammy hope you have a great weekend stuff dh.

SnugglySnerd · 18/11/2017 09:21

Flowers for Cag. Hope you feel better soon.

Terrible night last night. Feel like a zombie today. Unfortunately both dts were up so dh was also up half the night so I don't feel like I can leave it all to him and go back to bed. Muddling through today I think!

SunnyLikeThursday · 18/11/2017 09:53

Em That's great! Well done your DH!

Have you watched the films of "Pride and Prejudice" and "The Importance of Being Earnest" right through with your DH? They both feature your MIL, and give a number of useful hints on how to handle her. My family are in "A Room with a View" and we are watching that at the moment. We're trying to be a little bit less Cecil Vyse and a little bit more Freddy Honeychurch. Smile

ememem84 · 18/11/2017 10:01

Depending on whether we’ve moved house we won’t have space for her to stay. Ds will be 7 months by then and will be in his own room. If we’re here, we only have 2 bedrooms. He’ll also just have started nursery so to move him back in with us will be just too much upheaval. Oh dear what a shame.

If we’ve moved...well we may have space. Dh has said that depending on the timing of the move she may not be able to stay with us. Ie if we move the week before it’ll just be too much. If we move in February we’ll have to hope she stays with a friend but he’ll offer once she has got things sorted. He doesn’t want her staying either!

If her boyf was coming with her she couldn’t stay here as he’s deathly allergic to cats and a twat according to dh who has met him in reserving judgement

sunny I haven’t watched either of those movies. Maybe tonight.

Re my name - dh corrected her. “Oh well you know who I mean” Must not react to it. Must maintain moral high ground. Must not slap her in her stupid face.

mammymammyIRL · 18/11/2017 10:38

lonely I'm holding out to see if he genuinely has hurt himself - if he's still hurt by the time I see him next Wednesday evening or has to take time off work I'll know it's genuine if not, I'll have to bring it up that it coincided very well with me going away on a trip.

He has a bee in his bonnet over this trip because he encouraged me to book it but had forgotten about my trip away two weekends ago also. If he had realised that I'd be away twice in a month I don't think he'd have been for me going at all!!

em well done to your dh for correcting his dm and for standing up to her regarding christening, she's not the star of that show ds is!!

I also didn't use my tens machine on either labour, it was in my labour bag alright but was too much of a faff for dh to sort out, and I was kind of otherwise engaged!
