Meadow have you got a lidls near by? They have some lovely wooden toys in at the moment for younger kids.

Can - sounds like some future mother care bargains to be had.
Nursing clothing I highly recommend Frugi but only buy preloved or in sales such a nice fit and I wear the dresses well after stopping bf.

ememem84 · 16/11/2017 21:43

meadow I got new bras at around 26 weeks. I avoided mothercare. Just went to our dept stores bra dept told them I was pregnant and they sorted me out. I went from a DD to an E. I bought a couple of nursing bras and a couple of unwired soft bras.

hamburgers similar offer to cags I have some newborn stuff I can send across if you on me your address. Actually cag pm me your address and I’ll send you a few bits too.

Ds has just cried for about an hour. He has wicked wind. I feel so helpless to help him. We haven’t been giving him infacol as often as maybe we should have. So feel bad about that.

He also hasn’t pooped since yesterday morning which probably hasn’t helped things either. I did a google and google suggested warm flannel wiped on his bum. So I tried that a few times (nappy off him on a towel). Also rubbed his tummy a lot and bicycled his legs (which he enjoys). Then gave him a bath. Farts ahoy. He did do one which was so gigantic he looked suprised and then cried again. Sigh.

He’s asleep now....

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 16/11/2017 21:45

Wreck I would be pissed off too you supplied the safest option and they had no excuse not to use it and compromised her safety for no other reason than sheer laziness.

ChristmasSeacow · 16/11/2017 21:46

Ham you definitely shouldn't feel bad. The people that donate want their stuff to be used. And most of us have received hand-me-downs from friends and acquaintances, baby stuff is used for such a short time and it all adds up so it's a massive help. Are you london way? I am, and happy to pass on anything you might find helpful. I'll be finished with my 0-6m sleeping bags at Christmas, baby bath and various other bits too. I have a 0-3m snowsuit that's only been worn once, from DS's babyhood, which I've just unearthed. Oh, and a sling (one of those soft jersey ones that you can wear a newborn in. Not my newborn though, she wasn't keen, bloody typical!). I can post most bits though probably not worth posting a baby bath, unless you're within collecting distance?

Cag I've definitely found that I've overestimated the amount of real clothes DD needs (outfits) and ended up topping up vests though. Some days she stays in sleepsuits as I have to rush out to school so early... and as others say you get gifts too.

I'm happy to send on my DD's clothes again if you are interested when she's finished with 3-6m? Won't be offended if you say no though!

I can't think of much missing from your list except possibly a playmat /blanket (good to catch any spit-up or foody crumbs) . And maybe a walker toy (thing to push, not thing to sit in, which are not recommended now anyway). Those doorway bouncers are supposed to be good - we never had one for DS as we had a jumperoo but it is really quite large... door thing might have been better!

Thanks all for the pep talk... I am okay at getting by on less sleep than ideal but this is rather testing me! It's affecting my patience more than anything. I totally agree Need, sleep training is required. However, I think I need to try and knock feeding into a bit of a routine first though (and to achieve that, probably daytime naps) as I need to know she's not hungry when we're doing the tough stuff, iyswim? I wouldn't have done it before about now but I think she's old enough. I just need the energy and mental space to make a plan...

This has taken me ages to type with one finger as I'm catching up on Blue Planet at the same time, so there will be lots of cross posting, sorry!

LonelyOversharer · 16/11/2017 22:06

Gosh you're all so lovely. Knitting (and a bit of crochet) is just something I do, I never think it's up to much, but I'm getting better with that!

It's a lovely pattern seacow top down. Free download from ravelry. I spend a lot of time on there perusing patterns!

I spent £103 in Morrisons, but £30 of that was meat. Should keep us going for a bit. We had lunch in there too, £19 for 3 of us. Had a bit of (deep) fried bread. It was awful and delicious at the same time!

OP posts:
ememem84 · 16/11/2017 22:23

OH god loneky fried bread. Sooo good. But sooooo bad. But soooooo good.

ChristmasSeacow · 16/11/2017 22:32

Gawd Ham, that really sounds tough for you to having to deal with the relapse. And for your DP too. I guess your change in circumstances has been a huge trigger Sad. I hope you all find your new equilibrium. Babies bring a lot of stress just because life changes profoundly but it is also a wonderful experience. Good luck to you Flowers

Love the thought of the trickle-down of stuff through the frugaleers. Meadow, if you have a girl I have some lovely summer newborn stuff that'll be just right for your little one (been no use to the autumn and winter babies). Assuming you actually get a summer next year - we didn't get much of one this year so the outfits are mostly pristine!

Off to bed. Poor DH has spent most of the evening trying to get DD down. What a day. I think he needs a medal too. I haven't got a medal so I gave him the Milk Tray Wink

Can't remember who asked (Love?) but SW going quite well, very much against the odds. 4 weeks in, 11lb down. many stones to go

TalentedKnitter (as I now call you Wink) I spend hours on that site. Sometimes it's hard to sort the wheat from the chaff but it's a fab resource. I should dig about for things to make for DD. I have one pattern and yarn in my stash (but age 2-3 is the smallest it goes). I can manage a quick pattern or two before then!

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/11/2017 06:21

Ah ham you are having an awful time. I can't offer anything but a friendly ear.

Lovely frugaleers passing things on. Flowers

WreckTangled · 17/11/2017 07:09

Oh ham what a horrible time you’re having. Don’t feel bad about accepting help. Things will get better. It’s worth telling the health visitor your worries when you meet them, the ones in my office are always asking people if they’re worried about anything and need any support.

I’m getting my new car today. Will be £10.50 on the train £2.50 on the bus and will probably need some fuel won’t it?

SnugglySnerd · 17/11/2017 08:26

Meadow play doh, dressing up clothes and books were a hit with DD aged 2 (and still are!).

Spendy day yesterday. Met friends for lunch. I'd planned panini and coffee which is what I had oyour I added chips then got a second coffee and a cake.

Then spent £135 in the supermarket. That included everything like cat food, nappies, formula, dishwasher tablets etc though.

Need an NSD today.

WreckTangled · 17/11/2017 08:29

Bus broke down so I had to take the children in which has meant I won’t have time for another coffee 😭

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 17/11/2017 08:39

Just sent dd off to school, so much more civilised now being able to wave her off to school from the comfort of the sofa!!

£1 for CIN, non uniform day, going to meet a friend for coffee in a bit and got a colleagues lunch do for her bday later, all good stuff.

Laska5772 · 17/11/2017 09:46

ememem84 · 17/11/2017 10:40

A pre Christmas gift and a birthday gift bought today.

£30 Amazon gift voucher for Bil for his 30th from ds.

needastrongone · 17/11/2017 11:06

Are you okay Laska?

Hamburgers You are having a really tough time, I'm so sorry about your DH. Think of this as the toughest time, build slowly. If you want all my hair treatments, just message me.

Ocado was £60, not £80 yesterday as I had edited my basket.

Spends today will be £30 for the cleaner.
£17 race entry fee.

I'm back on track with budgeting, due to frugality this week. And no beauty treatments......

Sunny is quiet, hoping all is well.

Laska5772 · 17/11/2017 11:17

Hi need yes thanks am great.
All quiet on the will issue front.. just waiting to see how it pans out (whats so awful is that the person concerned still alive.. or was last week.. its just that some particular preditory family sharks circling the poor b*er about the potential will.. HmmShock I have had and will have bo contact and have explained this in no uncertain terms to shark pack so am now keeping well out) . Dreadful isnt it!
We have dgs this weekend weather looks good so should be fun
I dont seem to be spending much ( unusual I know!) Cant seen to get my head around Christmas ideas at all..

Laska5772 · 17/11/2017 11:20

I think person is now declined so much that cannot make a will even if wanted to . Thats how i come inbeing a v near( but estranged) relative

Laska5772 · 17/11/2017 11:21

Hopefully they dont read MN or i may jave just outed myself...

ChristmasSeacow · 17/11/2017 11:27

I am going to make Lonely's flapjack this weekend. Question: I have oat flakes for porridge, is that the same thing as rolled oats or are they too fine? They are not superfine like ready brek but not as coarse as the chunky stuff. Will it work okay in flapjack?

Operation Reprogramme DD starts today. No lie in for her this morning. Mean mummy. But 3 hours of wanting to play in the night has got to stop!

Laska5772 · 17/11/2017 11:34

Oh yes the flapjack please can you repost the recipe?lonely orseacow? i could make that for dgs this evening

ChristmasSeacow · 17/11/2017 11:38

I just found it and screenshot(ted?) it

Remember remember it's frugal November
Laska5772 · 17/11/2017 11:43

Oh brilliant thanks Seacow. i was thinking that i might put the choc chips in it rather than on top..

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 17/11/2017 12:22

Yes was thinking Sunny was quiet, hope they are o.kay..

Nice coffee and bacon bap with a friend this morning £7.

Cag can you recommend any good board games that would be good for dd? We are getting a bit bored with the ones she has, they have to be o.kay with just two players. Had a quick look in Amazon but there wasn't anything obvious jumping out at me!
