Thanks need he has had a couple of other posthumously published ones that he liked, I didn't know there was a new one!

I spent more money online. Jigsaw Rubik's cube and card game for DS. Plus I took a risk on some extras for their marble run (quadrilla - amazing) - seems too bargainous to be true but we shall see.

Not well enough to get to taekwondo today. Only made it out of bed after 3pm. I'm watching anime while the Caglets play Lego

Cagliostro · 13/11/2017 17:14

I'm all sniffly now due to the film I watched, the red turtle. Basically no dialogue, really simple story and yet 😭😭😭 I blame the music.

ememem84 · 13/11/2017 17:24

We’re having a quiet day tomorrow I think. I have a lot to catch up on. Budget spreadsheet thank yous etc. I managed to get half the thank yous done today.

Ds has had a play with his comforter bear thingy and has had a bottle. And fell asleep. We have to go out for 7 to pick dh up then we can have dinner. I’ll need to bundle him in his car seat at about 630. Then we can have dinner.

This thread moves so fast!

lonely sorry to hear about your DD. Poor girl :( sounds horrible

I can sympathise with everyone re: heating. We've had to put our heating on and I hate doing it but otherwise it's just too cold in the house. I've turned off the radiators in the rooms we don't use as much like the utility room and spare bedrooms.

Saw my midwife this morning who asked if I want to be part of a training program where doctors learn how to scan pregnant women. It will take 2 hours but I get to see my baby on the monitor so it was a no brainer for me. After I signed up the midwife said, 'oh and you get £30 worth of Boots vouchers!' HOORAY! Have decided I will use the voucher on a pramsuit/snowsuit thing as baby due end of December and will be very chilly outside.

Spends to: £60 in Ikea on curtains and all the bits that go with them like the pole and stuff plus another £5 for lunch there. Too yummy to resist, especially a slice of daim cheesecake Blush
£19 on dog food which should last 4 weeks
£19 on a zipcar to get down to ikea in the first place

In other good news DH has a job interview on Wednesday so fingers crossed!

ChristmasSeacow · 13/11/2017 18:47

Ham do you know whether you are having a boy or a girl?

SunnyLikeThursday · 13/11/2017 19:02

I'm a convert now to my fleece lined hiking trousers. I just wear them every time I go out. They are these ones:

lockwoods.com/outdoor-clothing/technical-trousers/womens-technical-trousers-shorts/hs-hotsport-outerwear-women-benia-trouser/prod_2358.html

They really are toasty.

MissingMo · 13/11/2017 19:06

Good luck for DH on Wednesday @hamburgers! I can never go to Ikea without getting lunch either Wink

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/11/2017 19:15

I'll be thinking of you Ham. She should have mentioned the vouchers first!.

Laska5772 · 13/11/2017 19:15

I have loads to catch up on .. but just posting quickly so I don't lose you all..

Am really not sleeping very well at the moment .. there's a lot of potential conflict going on in wider 'family'.. (not our little unit, but I'm involved as an estranged child). I suppose its bringing up stuff....

Laska5772 · 13/11/2017 19:18

On a happier note.. Anyone recommend birthday /christmas present for DGS soon to be 5? last year I got im a scooter.. was wondering about Hot Wheels this year? .. Any ideas?

He has tons of Duplo also but still loves it , should we be moving onto Lego yet?

needastrongone · 13/11/2017 19:20

Lonely I like the Next tights and leggings, they are £12. Smile

needastrongone · 13/11/2017 19:25

LaskaWine☹️x

WreckTangled · 13/11/2017 19:28

Sorry to hear that laska. Ds is five in a couple of weeks and for birthday/Christmas we’re/family are getting him:

Hex bugs
Remote control tractor
Go-kart
Bath toys (he still likes them!)
Hot wheels stuff (he already is a fair bit I think it’s a good idea for your dgs)
A big wooden London bus
More parts to his road track puzzle (from amazon it’s amazing)

MyWhatICallNameChange · 13/11/2017 19:29

Damn, no one wants to swap my stink teenagers for snuggly newborns. I can't think why! Wink

Not a very frugal day, very frustrating and annoyed with myself. Took the train to Croydon (£13) to take the form to the bank to swap from joint to sole account. Got to bank. No form in my bag, I'd left it on the sofa. So a pointless trip really. Went on the tram with DS, so he was happy. Had meatballs in ikea for lunch (£13) spent £12 on a lamp and some batteries, and £12 in Primark on some bits.

Came home with a headache, probably from being so stressed! Late dinner. I'm doing a vegetarian pasta bake. We're not vegetarian but I want to do more veggie stuff as it's cheaper. I haven't told the kids, I'll see what their reaction is - they're not fussy but they like their meat!

Laska5772 · 13/11/2017 19:37

Good thoughts Wreck I shall look those all up .. Do you think this is a good starter set.? they are advertising t much cheaper in Argos but it doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere! (of course..).

Thanks all .. its all about £££ of course.. (potential legacies or not, or who, or what, etc etc .I am trying to keep out of it .. )

hamburgers · 13/11/2017 19:44

Sorry to hear that laksa Sad how rubbish to be caught up in it all.

mywhat I was at the ikea in Croydon too! I wonder if we were eating our lunch near each other. Small world!

christmas girl GrinGrin

Thanks fluffy 💜 I did the Halifax switch thing as you recommended. I got my card in the post but then got a text saying they couldn’t do the switch so I have to call them this week and ask what the problem is Angry

Cagliostro · 13/11/2017 19:48

Ugh today can do one. That is all.

WreckTangled · 13/11/2017 19:48

That looks good to me laska Smile

ChristmasSeacow · 13/11/2017 19:50

Can anyone tell me what hot wheels do and the approx age range? PILs are asking what to get DS for Christmas and I wondered about those.

Loveabaconsandwich · 13/11/2017 19:53

Not been the best few days. Didn’t go to work as I felt so stressed. So called in sick and cried to the poor person I finally managed to speak to. Went to the doctor and cried. Spoke to my manager but didn’t cry. Watched some tv and cried. On the plus side, hopefully no more crying left. Kind of left it with my manager that we’d see how I feel later in the week about going back and then we’ll look at my workload. He was nice though and no guilt as he seemed to appreciate that the workload had become too much.

£11 on M&S Chinese and iced buns

Fingers crossed hamburgers DH . You guys deserve some good news Flowers

WreckTangled · 13/11/2017 19:56

They have an electric band type thing one end and you pull the plastic then release it and it pushes the car along the track really fast. Basically. Hope I explained that ok Hmm the track is slightly bendy so you can make different loops etc

WreckTangled · 13/11/2017 19:56

Elastic not electric Angry

Cagliostro · 13/11/2017 19:57

Sorry about the bad days for others also. Sorry I'm not posting more helpfully this evening!

ChristmasSeacow · 13/11/2017 20:06

Cross-posted... ah that's lovely Ham.

Cag? Feeling rough? Flowers

DD won't sleep. I am hungry.

ChristmasSeacow · 13/11/2017 20:08

Ah thanks Wreck. I think DS would like that.

Sorry things are so tough Love. Glad your manager was nice.
