Sunny clearly we all need to know about the baby hedgehog! Any chance of a photo?

How are babies' little tiny finger nails so sharp Em?? Ds is the same even when they are freshly trimmed. DD2 now has a new way of hurting us - she bites on my shoulder when I pick her up! I'm hoping teeth are on the way...

LonelyOversharer · 10/11/2017 22:58

I'm half way through making my dads birthday cake. Trying a lumberjack inside, tree stump outside, idea from pintrest (as usual). I think I managed to temper chocolate as it is still very shiny now it's set.

Spent a load in asda, but £60 of it was gift cards. £23 Maccy D's, thats two this week. Utterly disgraceful. Spellcheck tried to offer me distasteful for that, I guess it's right too.

Picked up ds' last lego dimensions pack from argos, ordered them on 3 for 2, but they weren't in stock. Much polava as the offer is finished, but I got my £24.99 off! It is all he wants for Christmas, so I do hope he likes it!

All the kids except mine have hype bags round here girlie , I might get dd2 one for christmas now. She's very hard to buy for. Dd3 wants 'unicorn stuff' cue lots of odd stationary from amazon!

Went and had a natter to my mum, it was lovely to chat to her, we usually just swap dc at the door. She is 70 this week! What on earth can I buy her? She doesn't like cluttery stuff.

Here's the hedgehog. He seems to be full of beef and keen to climb out now. He's about 4 inches long.

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/11/2017 07:05

Urg fru flu had struck here. Feeling snotty so won't be going to the gym. Still need to go food shopping though.

Cagliostro · 11/11/2017 07:23

No chance to order online for later life? Some supermarkets let you do same day delivery (or presumably click and collect) if you order later enough. Hope you feel better soon Brew ⬅️Lemsip

Cuuuute hedgehog! Lucky thing, ours has mealworms from the pound shop :o

Cagletini has been feeding pretty much non stop for 3 hours. She's so snuffly and blocked up :( I have the kindle though so I'm going to watch the latest EWFL on iplayer.

It's her due date today. That's so weird, it feels like she's been here forever. I wonder when she would've turned up, and how it all would've gone, if they hadn't induced her earlier. Not that it matters now really.

It's also DH's last day off so all things considered I'm a bit of a wreck already. Hmm

SunnyLikeThursday · 11/11/2017 07:29

Do you have a hedgehog too Cag? Sorry to hear it's a tough day. BrewCake

WreckTangled · 11/11/2017 07:37

So cute sunny! We used to get hedgehogs before we got the cat.

I’m going food shopping when I’ve finished my coffee.

Cagliostro · 11/11/2017 07:44

Thank you sunny Thanks

Yep this is ours, he's been around for a couple of months now and seems to be making a home in the straw we put down!

Cag That's a cracking photo.

northender · 11/11/2017 08:14

Morning. girlie & lonely Hype backpacks are definitely the thing to have here too. Dd's is looking a bit worse for wear now & she's after another.
life hope you feel better soon
Dh built quite an elaborate hedgehog house a few years ago from leftover bits of wood. It was fab, but sadly ignored by local hedgehogs Grin
Got a circuits class booked at 9, then want to try to get outdoors with dd this afternoon but the forecast looks pretty dire I think. Tomorrow is busy as I'm working & dad has rehearsals for her drama show

ememem84 · 11/11/2017 08:23

I love hedgehogs.

Raining at the moment. I did a bed switch with dh last night so he was on full time baby night duty. I slept for 10 hours straight. Dm thinks this is odd and that dh should get up with me every time ds needs something and that he’s being a crap husband by sleeping in the spare room. But that’s her opinion. She also thinks I’m being unfair to dh by making him look after ds. Poor dh. Hmm

Anyway. Dh and ds are still sleeping. I’ve made myself a cup of tea and have some fruit. Catface has been fed and is curled up on bed with me.

Riding today £27. Must dig out my waterproof jacket.

I’m going to meal plan and shopping list once I get back.

WreckTangled · 11/11/2017 08:57

£50 in Lidl 🙌🏼 hopefully won’t need to top up will post meal plan in a bit.

Cagliostro · 11/11/2017 09:07

Soooo he's crap for not getting up in the night but also a martyr for looking after him? Mothers eh Confused :o

Meh, DH is mostly sleeping on the sofa for the moment, DD is in with me (I've not even tried getting her in the Moses basket since about day 3, I've accepted I don't actually want to :o). He did the night shift with DD1 a lot as she was mix fed, but we've not introduced bottles yet so there's not really much DH can do. We both keep our phones on us so I sometimes text if I need anything (painkillers, nappies etc) and he comes straight up. He does everything but feed her during the day and I've barely got up before 11am so far so it's all good as far as I'm concerned.

WreckTangled · 11/11/2017 10:09

S: pie, mash gave and veg
S: roast chicken dinner
M: chicken spaghetti
T: jacket potatoes with beans
W: sausages with mash or wedges and veg
T: pizza
F: not sure yet. It’ll be a whatever I can make from stuff in the freezer.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 11/11/2017 10:11

I reckon you do what works for you Em as long as baby is loved, fed, warm etc all the logistics really do not matter. I'm jealous though, being a single parent with a baby was very tiring!!

Love the hedgehog pics, I am hoping we might get some under our shed. We have a wildlife area at the bottom of the garden so lots of slugs etc they would like, the cats might put them off though Sad

Ouch Wreck I feel your pain, both my cats have lifelong health conditions. I think cats are generally getting more unhealthy which is probably as a result of them not eating 100% meat diets.

Plan for today is not much Grin am debating going for a run in a bit, baking some cakes and we are going to go and see Murder on the Orient Express later. Dd is very into murder mysteries atm so has been desperate to see it.

ememem84 · 11/11/2017 10:19

Yep and I’m a bad mum for even attempting to sleep. Apparently my dad used to get up with my mum every time me or my sister needed feeding or whatever when we were babies. What’s the point in both being exhausted?

WreckTangled · 11/11/2017 10:21

Em ime mums seem to forget the reality and have rose tinted glasses for those baby years. Apparently I slept through the night at two weeks Hmm

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/11/2017 11:03

But what would Dh do while your feeding?.

It doesn't really matter what you do in life, someone will always say your doing it wrong. There was a brilliant cartoon on here once about animals hiding young not to protect them from predators but to avoid criticism of their parenting.

We don't tell people much now. Name, rank, number Grin

Think today's a NSD. Cupboards are full 😊

Need Did the water board get back to you yet?.

mammymammyIRL · 11/11/2017 11:49

Possibly not as frugal as buying a cake but you can't put a price on making memories Grin

SunnyLikeThursday · 11/11/2017 12:03

Good cake Mammy. Looks like some engineering went into that.

I need to drive to the Hedgehog hospital today and the warm comfy house is exercising a strong draw over all of us. Must be done though.
