This may push me to put the Caglets in the proper climbing club instead of the home ed one, which I was thinking about anyway, but it's more expensive

Cagliostro · 10/11/2017 12:59

Oh bugger. Why did I just search 'dinosaur' on the Jojo site. 💸💸💸

SnugglySnerd · 10/11/2017 13:36

They have loads of lovely dino stuff at the moment Cag.

WreckTangled · 10/11/2017 14:22

£34 Sainsbury’s including dh Christmas present
£40 petrol
£6 lunch
£52 jojo’s

That’s it. Christmas shopping for dc done apart from dds main present which I’ll get Black Friday. Dh’s presents also done.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/11/2017 15:24

It's a good feeling isn't it wreck

Everything goes mental around here at Christmas. It's a right bun fight.

£7.50 petrol
£3.40 2 X Marg & sweeteners.

Laska5772 · 10/11/2017 15:25

£6.85 this morning for my share of a tem 'breakfast' meeting.. I hate these but it seems that I am the only one in my team who s does.. so I have to go along and pay in. ( last time i just had coffee which is all i really want at that time but the comments were just too much , so this morning i reluctantly went for egg on toast with bacon )

£83 in the Co Op!! but that includes all weekend food and wine and stuff for a cold chicken and ham type buffet meal for six that i need to take to my parents on Sunday .. They really struggle now to cook for us when we all visit .. (are 89 and 92) .

no lunch - see above - but (reduced) Pizza for dinner yum..

MyWhatICallNameChange · 10/11/2017 15:38

I feel the same about the climbing club Cag. It's damned annoying.

Went to the cinema today, free as part of the Into Film Festival. Then spent £10 in McDonalds and £12 in Sainsbury's.

Still no letter from the DWP so no idea what the random amount of money they put in my account is for!

needastrongone · 10/11/2017 16:26

Busy and spendy day today but a lot of stuff accomplished.

£30 Boots on 3 for 2 Christmas presents.
£145 Sainsbury’s but only about £40 on food. Needed drinks in for friends coming over tomorrow, some Jack Daniels reduced to £20 from £30, a sieve to wash rice and load of accessories for the bathroom. None planned but lovely stuff.
£45 nails and toes, budgeted for and got over 3 weeks with no chipping from my last nails (fluffy will appreciate that’s good).
£65 fuel.

Going to blow some of the extra savings but it’s that time of year.

SnugglySnerd · 10/11/2017 16:29

NSD. Funnily enough the space dino pj's arrived this afternoon. They are fabulous! They put a Xmas catalogue in with them. Why did I look at it???

Cagliostro · 10/11/2017 16:51

Catalogues are dangerous (and of course I'm blaming you for mentioning said PJs and making me search Wink - thankfully they aren't available in the right sizes anyway so I have closed the website!). I want a Myriad catalogue (they do looooovely expensive wooden things).

DD must be feeling rubbish, she didn't want to go to ballet. She never wants to miss things. Although I suspect the fact she was cuddled up with baby was putting her off moving :)

DS is cuddling and kissing the baby too now BTW. The baby he swore he wouldn't like until she was a toddler... :o seriously though am so relieved. We didn't push him to go near her - he didn't even touch her for about 10 days and was hiding upstairs whenever she cried etc - so it's been much quicker progress than we thought and I'm very relieved :) and proud of him too.

DH agreed that we should look into the regular climbing club for the Caglets. It would cost more as it's weekly. I'll phone them to find out when it's on and also to give them the feedback that loads of us won't be continuing because they've cut down the time so much Hmm

I have spent so much time (but no money) online today looking at Christmas presents

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 10/11/2017 17:39

Glad ds has been o.kay today Em dd has certainly given me a few extra grey hairs over the years with health and accident related dramas flipping kids I know what you mean Sunny about seeing them going under for GA. The bit where you hand them over always makes me cry.

Had a nice day at work for a change, busy but not too busy. Glad its Friday though Smile

The window cleaner has been so owe him £10.
Spent £40 on Amazon last night, dd needs a new back pack as the current one is falling to bits. She wanted one by a make called Hype which apparently is all the rage atm, will give it to her for Christmas.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/11/2017 17:57

If anyone's had a price increase notice from BT today it means you can leave penalty free & go somewhere cheaper.

Big long thread about it on hot uk deals.

needastrongone · 10/11/2017 17:58

DS has had 2 GA’s. It’s tough. DH and I waved him off with a smile then criedSmile. Main thing was, he wasn’t bothered as we didn’t show we were. He was very excited that the nurses gave him a cheeseburger and let him play on a PS2 while he recovered. He was only about 7 I think so this was totally cool for himGrin

needastrongone · 10/11/2017 18:08

The second op we paid for and it took every single bit of savings we had. The first hadn’t worked, no ones fault. Couldn’t stand the pain he was in and the NHS wait was 6 weeks. Not frugal but you would gladly lay in front of a bus for your DC wouldn’t you?

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/11/2017 18:34

Girlie hype backpacks are excellent. Did you sign up to justhype.co.uk they do so much off your first order I think and sometimes a free gift with back packs

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 10/11/2017 19:00

No I didn't Life but just had a look and it doesn't look like the exact bag she wanted is on there, maybe an old season or something. Will sign up though for future orders, thank you.

WreckTangled · 10/11/2017 19:02

£118 vet bill 😭

SnugglySnerd · 10/11/2017 19:15

Happy weekend everyone!

The rice pudding was well-received and there's tonnes left. Do you think it would freeze?

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/11/2017 19:15

What did he have done?.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/11/2017 19:16

I'd freeze rice pud. What can go wrong?

WreckTangled · 10/11/2017 19:33

He’s had an allergy ever since we’ve got him. They aren’t sure if it’s an allergy to flea bites or a dermatitis or what but it’s usually only from March to November. Anyway it’s bad at the moment and we saw yet another vet who has given us a short course of pred, a hardcore flea spot on (that lasts 12 weeks!) and some other tablets which aren’t licensed in cats but he thinks is worth a try. Before he’s just had steroid injections so this vet seems more into finding the cause rather than just treating the symptoms. Still expensive though Sad and annoying as we just bought advocate yesterday which we now won’t use.

SunnyLikeThursday · 10/11/2017 19:41

We've got a baby hedgehog lodging with us and it's eating slow-cooked roast beef noisily behind me. Smile

ememem84 · 10/11/2017 20:09

Lovely day. Ds was super well behaved at the pub. I had a falafel burger with halloumi and chippies!! And a small glass of wine and a coke and a coffee. Df has stuffed mushrooms and rissotto and a beer and a wine and a coffee. He also paid. So nsd for me. I was sneaky and gave him my pub loyalty card though...so got pub points. Hoorah!

Took ds back to see Dm (who has a bit of a cold so she didn’t cuddle him but has said that she’s coming round all day on Monday and is just going to snuggle him as she can’t now she’s sick!) had a cup of tea and then came home.

One load of washing. Washing up. Sorted my online banking (Hsbc have kicked me off their normal site have to log in to a new Channel Islands one). Made pizza. Ds cried after his feed so I held him for a bit. And he mauled me with his sharp little nails. And then smashed me in the face with his head.

He was just getting control of his wobble head too...he held it up and screamed for aaaaaagggvges. Haha!!

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/11/2017 20:51

Poor biscuit Sad I hope it works. Ours is cereal intolerant Hmm

How did you get a hoglet Sunny?

needastrongone · 10/11/2017 21:50

sunny’s post isn’t a sentence you read very often on this thread......Grin
