lifelongfrugaleer · 10/11/2017 06:27

Ah em, scary stuff. Pleased ds is ok and your have a great doctor.

Went to fitness last night £5 and feel better for it. Ds still has a sore throat but he will have to go to school today.

Cagliostro · 10/11/2017 07:03

OMG em! How scary. So glad it was over quickly but I bet it felt like forever at the time. Being a parent is terrifying sometimes.

Happy birthday mammyDS 🎂

Up with super snotty DD and have an epically sore throat. So continuing to look at baby toys. Thank you for all the recommendations, it's quite novel having the internet as when the Caglets were babies I didn't shop online at all. Oodles of choice now. She has her own wishlist already (private, just for me to keep track of ideas). I have such a weakness for naice wooden toys 😳😂

ememem84 · 10/11/2017 07:35

Just woken up again. Yay. Ds still snuffling and snoring away beside me in his basket.

Dh is making eggs for breakfast. Yippee.

mammymammyIRL · 10/11/2017 07:35

Wow em super scary not surprised you had a cry. Never heard of any girl doing that - we're totally innocent in rural Ireland Grin

mammymammyIRL · 10/11/2017 07:39

€4 at gym, did the bootcamp workout cos I'm not starting work until 8 today, calorie burn is at 935 already doesn't usually get to that until lunchtime GrinHaloStar

Have dc Santa letter to browse over breakfast SmileHmm

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/11/2017 07:42

Well done mammy. I didn't get away with r&h so I cancelled. Pleased it's working for you.

LonelyOversharer · 10/11/2017 07:49

em ds' change in poo habits might be due to the formula. Bf babies do tend to do the bright yellow cheese at every feed "one in one out" but I think the formula blocks them up a bit more, so you get fewer, bigger jobbies. Some just poo less and struggle whatever they have, weaning brings more poo joy!

Em That kind of stuff really takes the feet from under me too. Even when it's a general anaesthetic, seeing ds unconscious really is not good for the instinctive bits of my parenting brain.

CurlsandCurves · 10/11/2017 08:19

Blimey Em that must have been frightening! Hope you have a nice chilled out day today.

Yesterday was super spendy. £72.50 on DHs passport renewal. And £120 penalty notice for taking DS2 out of school, he missed the first few days back as we were on holiday. Knew it was coming when we booked it a year ago, but the fine is less than what it saved us on the holiday. Not had the notice for DS1 yet.

And once DHs passport comes back, I’ve got to send ds1s off, as his runs out in January!

SnugglySnerd · 10/11/2017 08:26

Scary Em. Pleased you are both OK.

Cag the dts love those black and white baby books with high contrast and their rain stick thing. Not sure what it's called. It's a tube with beads in and it sounds like rain when you tip it. ELC have them.

I'm making rice pudding in the slow cooker. I hate the stuff but dh's and the dcs love it. I normally buy those little pots but they are ££ and full of sugar. I'm making it with only a tiny bit of sugar and I'm going to add stewed fruit. There should be enough to last a few days.

Also I got given some carrots yesterday with the tops on and I was wondering if they are edible. Someone on pro masterchef used them to make salsa Verde last night so I might try doing something with them. I also have some parsley and basil so might do a pesto type concoction.

SunnyLikeThursday · 10/11/2017 09:28

snuggly they made something just like that on the CBeebies cooking show that we were watching yesterday. I wondered about making it with ds. It was apple juice, rice and blackcurrants.

Laska5772 · 10/11/2017 09:52

Em how frightening so glad he is ok this morning
sounds like you handled it really well , even if you didnt think so at the time.. Flowers

Laska5772 · 10/11/2017 09:55

Snuggly i have
Tried using carrot tops when we grew our own as yhey were organic snd so lovely looking
. Thet dont really taste of anything and fibrous to eat not worth the bother i thought

Cagliostro · 10/11/2017 10:01

thanks snuggly I think they are actually called rain sticks :o I saw a pack of four black and white baby books in The Works I think so might get them soon.

Will definitely get some of the 'that's not my... books for Christmas, I was thinking the Caglets might choose one each for her. However I now have 3 friends who sell usborne so not sure who to buy from Blush

Epic lie in. Just got up as baby needs feeding yay!

WreckTangled · 10/11/2017 10:07

Oh em how scary! Agree the reduced pooing is because of formula it’s much harder to digest. I remember dd not going for ten days then it all came out at once! The hv said it’s about consistency rather than frequency.

Just got a tree skirt in John Lewis for £9 down from £35 due to some very minor damage. Free coffee and cake with voucher.

ememem84 · 10/11/2017 10:16

Ds is back to his normal self yay! We’re going for a naice pub lunch with df today. I just called. Ds is excited to go out with his grandad (and his Mummy).

Should probably get out of bed and have a shower and get ourselves ready to go...we’re picking df up at 12 ish. But it’ll take me about 2 hours to get ready to leave the house!! Gone are the days of ready in 20 minutes.

Cagliostro · 10/11/2017 10:32

Everything takes so much longer with a baby doesn't it! I'll have to get used to trying to leave for earlier buses I think. The only reason we are able to get anything done at all is probably because DD1 is so desperate willing to cuddle DD2 so much. People keep asking if she's being a helpful big sister which I know is just making conversation really but OMG she really is bloody fantastic.

WreckTangled · 10/11/2017 10:56

Argh got 50% off in the Jojo shopping event!!

northender · 10/11/2017 10:58

Scary Em, I remember something similar with ds but he was a bit older. Glad you're both okay.
Quick check in, spendy day yesterday. £140 on food shopping, but most of it was meat/fish etc which has mostly gone in the freezer and will stretch to loads of meals so not so bad.
The Killers were fabulous, what a show! Ds loved it, he is a slightly obsessive fan so made the most of it. We were very close to the stage as we got there nice and early. Car parking and a McD's on the way home were the only expenses (tickets already paid for). Concerts and watching sport (mainly football and cricket) are our extravagances and so we tend to spend as little as we can on clothes and eating out/takeaways to afford it. We are also lucky as we are within an hour's drive or train ride to several decent concert venues.

Will catch up properly over the weekend, off to work another late shift now.

ChristmasSeacow · 10/11/2017 11:48

Very Envy Wreck - I didn't even get SN invitation. And I am defo on the mailing list as I've bought from them recently and veg their catalogues Angry. Go for some toys!

ChristmasSeacow · 10/11/2017 11:52

An invitation - and GET their catalogues! FFS.

SnugglySnerd · 10/11/2017 12:29

I got an invitation but had until now forgotten about it. I dare not go in Jojo this close to Xmas though. I won't be able to resist cute things for the babies that we really don't need. I did get DD1 the glow in the dark space dino pj's though. They are from the boys' section but she will love them since they meet all her criteria of dinos, space and glowing in the dark!

WreckTangled · 10/11/2017 12:41

Unfortunately it’s only a small one so they don’t stock age 5-6 which is what ds needs. My friend and I spent £200 between us though which means we saved £200! I’ll add my own up in a bit but wasn’t too much.... a few bits were from ds’ amazon wish list anyway so I’m really pleased.

Cagliostro · 10/11/2017 12:49

Space Dino pyjamas you say? Interesting... I am loving the toys on there too.

I am pissed off because the awesome climbing club has announced they are keeping the same session price but cutting the time from 90 to 60 minutes 😡😡 really not sure if it's worth it for that 😰
