needastrongone · 09/11/2017 09:08

You lucky thing North, enjoy The Killers.

That recipe sounds fab Lonely, the chocolate chips idea - oh wow yum yum.

Laska5772 · 09/11/2017 09:58

oh I like that flapjack recipe ,tis years since i made any..now tempted. I really need to think of making the Christmas cake..

I am working at home today ( but i really don't have that much work to do!) .. l keep telling them but they still seem to think they need me ! (but still holding on for hopeful redundancy rather than retiring yet).

I haven bought any Christmas presents yet, usually I am well ahead, but I cant get into it at all this year.

ememem84 · 09/11/2017 11:54

I’ve made jam.

Ds has napped. We’ve had a bigger bottle - I must get myself a travel mug. (Or find mine and use it...) apparently only one of us can enjoy a nice warm drink. I’m getting used to cold tea.

Foul weather. It has not stopped raining.

I’ve also managed to take prawns out of the freezer for dinner to defrost. Yay.

Next on the list lunch for me then maybe thank yous while watching suits.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/11/2017 12:00

Well im at home today with ds.
I have loads of jobs to do but we are watching Harry potter instead. But of a waste of leave in once sense but not the other

Cagliostro · 09/11/2017 12:19

Morning - er, afternoon - all. Lazy day for me today. Thanks for the anniversary wishes. It was a great day and I'm quite loved up :o especially at the way DH looks at Cagletini... 😍😍😍

Re nappy changes I am generally changing her between boobs IYSWIM because she is quite sleepy and they want her having both sides for the moment. Changing is really the only thing that she doesn't like, so it wakes her up enough to bother feeding more. But that's just because she was so diddy, I suspect as she's gaining weight well I can just return to demand feeding soon TBH.

Thanks also for feeding top ideas. I didn't use anything specific with DS, but he was twice the size and latched on so much easier (plus I was a smaller cup size then!) and I'm still a bit self conscious (I say 'still' but I should probably remind myself that she's only 2 weeks old!). I'll definitely look for shirts and strappy tops to layer up.

Laska5772 · 09/11/2017 12:28

Have just bought first Christmas present!! 2 Tshirts from Red Molotov for DS .. Sadly had tobe full price, but then I have saved a christmas fund..

I might have also ordered a fab jumper from Celtic and co for me

Credit card had nothing on it before..

Laska5772 · 09/11/2017 12:30

id have asked for it for Christmas, but i know once DH had got around to ordering it would have been gone.. and he has paid out for Florence for big birthday ..!!

Cagliostro · 09/11/2017 12:41

Does anyone use the Natwest app? I am trying to work out how to edit my payee list. Pretty much everyone on there I won't ever need to pay again so I want to delete them but can't see how.

Really really need to think about Christmas today! It's one of the few disadvantages of home ed, less child free time to discuss these things and go shopping :o mind you that's probably helpful in that it reduces spending opportunities Blush

ememem84 · 09/11/2017 12:42

cag new look have some soft lovely shirts at the moment.

LonelyOversharer · 09/11/2017 13:51

Done a lot of lifting and shifting at our shop. Conclusion: we have a lot of stuff.

I've finally changed my user id on ebay! Back about 12 yrs ago when I set up my account, I used my real, only 2 of us in the world name. Duh. It's annoyed me ever since. Now it's suitable for the crap tonnes of stuff to I need to sell. And my 800 odd feedback rating thingy is ok. I thought I'd have to start up a new account, and I don't usually buy from people with low feedback numbers, so didn't want to be one myself again. Turns out it wasn't rocket science to do.

Spent £70 in Morrisons, but forgot the coupon to activate the £31 christmas bonus. Will try to do it online, but I don't think this shop will count towards it. Typical.

Cagliostro · 09/11/2017 13:56

Thanks em will check!

Ugh I'm annoyed twice over today. 1: one of my PJ top straps broke.
2: my lovely biscuits went stale in the biscuit tin.

FFS.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/11/2017 13:57

Email morrisons CEO & ask for some Christmas cheer. It wasn't so long ago they were in the shit so they need to by nice to loyal customers.

NSD.

Lonely my dh is pondering buying bike bits to keep himself occupied while he waits for his new job to start. We should watch out for you on ebay. :-) We were at our local independent bike shop today, where we previously bought ds's bike, looking longingly at a new bike for dh. It was a Ridgeback flight 03. Cost a bit though. Dh is going to take his bike there for a service this week while he considers it all.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/11/2017 15:24

I'm blooming shattered. Top to bottom the house. Have left some stuff for the cleaner tomorrow though. I've just been more thought than she is.
Also made shortbread.

SnugglySnerd · 09/11/2017 16:14

Aaaagghhh! I am trying to meal plan for all of us for 3 meals a day plus snacks. It is bloody hard! I'm going to attempt to cook a lot in advance on Sunday but I can't always do that eg if we go out for the day. I especially need to get some suitable things in the freezer that I can give the babies for lunch. I usually make soup which they can eat but if I don't have time I often have a tin of soup which is a bit high in salt for them or a sandwich. I don't think they can quite manage sandwiches yet although they do ok with toast.
I bought a few emergency pouches of baby food but it really doesn't seem to fill them up at all and they are really expensive. I can't just keep giving them Weetabix because I'm disorganised!
Anyway I'm trying a few new JO recipes that say they serve 8 so that should be enough to either have 2 nights running or to freeze half. If they go down well with everyone I'll make them again.

NSD so far but I have a massive shopping list for the supermarket.

WreckTangled · 09/11/2017 16:26

Snuggly how about cheese on toast, toasted pitta and humous, some frozen cheese sauce to add to pasta?

I was parked by a kfc and macdonalds earlier but I didn’t go to either despite being starving!

Nsd.

Cagliostro · 09/11/2017 16:31

That is some serious willpower wrecked ⭐️️

LonelyOversharer · 09/11/2017 16:37

Ridgeback bikes are really good sunny decent and sturdy. Dp uses 'fit for purpose' the girls all had ridgebacks pre bike shop, and they were ace. I have a Forme hybrid, retailed at £500, so the one your dh is looking at is quite top end. As an independant they might not discount much, but should include a couple of services/gear checks, and maybe some lights or something. Their mark up will be about 25% iirc (could check the madison website) so not a great deal of wriggle room profit wise for them. If it has disc brakes, make sure they are hydraulic, not cable pull as these generally don't last long. At that price they should be.

Dp has sold his time trial bike. It was dp's pet project but he cannot get comfy on it as he has too many metal plates in his spine. This is a huge relief and releases a lot of money to help us out of our hole.

Pizza pockets for tea (deep fried pizza pasties, like savoury doughnuts) - can't wait!

Blimey wreck that is willpower. Are you ill or something? Grin

I am shattered, I feel like someone has stuck my head in the washing machine. I also have work to do at some point tonight Sad

Loveabaconsandwich · 09/11/2017 16:39

Ah yes cag just remembered that I used to have to do nappy changes in the night to get both my dinky babies to wake up enough to feed

Loveabaconsandwich · 09/11/2017 16:40

That is good news on the release of money lonely Star

WreckTangled · 09/11/2017 16:49

My vax is broken again. I’m really pissed off so I’ve emailed saying I just want a refund which probably isn’t the best idea. Hmmm. What I want is a new one but a better version.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/11/2017 17:11

That's good that your cash flow is a bit better lonely.
I'm just looking at shark Hoover. They are on offer in Curry's. My little one has had it.

£5 tonight for fitness. Cba as I've been in all day.

The sainsbury double up is on apparently. I normally get a flyer but nothing this year. The Christmas thread mentioned it
