Got my appt letter from the hospital for my midwife appt and got all excited, then read the three antenatal screening booklets they told me to read and got horrid anxiety so my chest hurts now. Sad I really worry that being this anxious all the time will harm my baby as my heart is so worked up all the time. Blergh.

Spent 90p on carrot cake to go with my lunch at work in my canteen and £1.50 on a card for DH's mum who will be in hospital next week, also from my work canteen. My work canteen is great, I know I've said so many times before Grin.

Also got a letter from the tribunals service here confirming my tribunal will be held here instead. I told them of my change of address about a month ago.

meadow it’s so so normal to be anxious. I was a bit of a wreck before my first appointments. The week before we found out I’d been out drinking every night, had been in a hot tub and had fallen off the pony. Was convinced I’d harmed Ds. But he’s fine.

The first appointment with the midwife was overwhelming. So many questions about me and also dh’s health. If your dh/p isn’t going with you make sure you know anything important re his medical history and family history if you can (from memory they’ll ask about heart disease cancer diabetes epilepsy and things like cleft palate).

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/10/2017 19:07

Lonely what are reasonable bike lights for 30 min commute. No parking at work for some of my days so might bike in

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/10/2017 19:08

Oh and neoprene gloves man and women's med
I'm happy to buy then from you too

WreckTangled · 19/10/2017 19:08

They also ask if the father of the baby is your cousin Grin

ChristmasSeacow · 19/10/2017 19:33

Gosh I'm surprised it got there that quickly Cag - unless it's something else?

Our pipe extravaganza ended well. The second company fixed the soil pipe with magic and digging, and then filled in the trench and went home for about 35 baths each. They were utterly covered in clay because the trench was all clay and it has been raining torrentially over night into the already dug trench. They did a brilliant job though. I wrote to their boss and told him how fabulous they were.

In the same day I also went to a bring and share picnic at ds's class, and a church service for the whole school, and then I got to see ds's books at the end of the day, and dh took the car to be repaired.

Our new car has been acting really oddly, randomly accelerating or decelerating whenever it feels like it. Apparently it needs a firmware upgrade. I'm really hoping that works, because it's most disconcerting to have it lurching about like that.

What a day though! Stopping now.

Cagliostro · 19/10/2017 19:57

Nope definitely the right package as I did open it and was greeted by a lot of lovely things 😍 DD is now squealing looking through it all ❤️💐

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 19/10/2017 20:42

Evening all Smile

That all sounds very stressful Sunny well done on managing it all Star

Yy to being anxious is normal Meadow its all new and can be overwhelming. I don't remember being asked too many questions about dds dads health which is just as well as I wouldn't have a clue i do remember saying to the lovely male midwife I saw first that it wasn't a planned pregnancy and he just smiled and said 'the best ones never are my dear' Grin made me feel much better!!

Just watched EWFL, really enjoyed it, amazing boys and mum.

£6 to dds school for a dance t.shirt.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 19/10/2017 20:42

Oh and I had my flu jab at work, I even got a sticker for being so brave Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/10/2017 20:52
Envy

I didn't even get a plaster.

Laska5772 · 19/10/2017 21:09

So funny girlie Grin
I once had a dentist just a few years ago who used to give me 'being brave' stickers.. ( i was definitely older than she was and have never been really bothered by the dentist !) .

She also used to call me 'Little Crocodile' ... As in 'Good little crocodile' and 'open your mouth wider for me, Little Crocodile!.

It was difficult not to laugh except you had your mouth full of dental instruments! .She was South African if that's at all relevant ..but maybe they have lots of crocodiles going to dentist surgeries there? (Crocodile Grin }

ChristmasSeacow · 19/10/2017 21:37

Ah Cag, so glad it got to you before you popped!

Newborn baby clothes are worth squealing over - impossibly cute and small! DD is 4 months old now but looks like a right lump next to a newborn. I feel nostalgic already...

WreckTangled · 20/10/2017 06:50

There’s a ladybird on my toothbrush Angry

Should be a nsd today. Last day of work before half term and I finish at one. Dc have an inset day so they’re going to my parents.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/10/2017 07:17

Sainsburys Tu is 25% off next week.

WreckTangled · 20/10/2017 07:21

Thought it was, ds needs socks and vests so that’s good. Oh and boxers.

ChristmasSeacow · 20/10/2017 07:29

DS is having a tantrum because he wants to go to school (half term from today here). He's completely confused that it's a weekday but no school. I think it's going to be a long week... Confused

SunnyLikeThursday · 20/10/2017 08:19

Are you allowed to go to the school ground in the holiday? Ours are open for playing in sometimes, or we do the flower beds outside of the front door.

ChristmasSeacow · 20/10/2017 08:22

It's actually open today for parent-teacher meetings but I am going without DS as I think he would be even more confused and distressed by going and it not being a normal day!

I hope there are some positives from his teacher today. He loves school so I am hopeful he is getting something out of it.

In the meantime I'm getting DH to take him to the park. And maybe a treat in Costa, which is his favourite!

mammymammyIRL · 20/10/2017 08:25

I think I need to post my weekly spends so far because although I'd several NSDs I still had spends!

€20 school bus money(I paid the full week even though they were closed for two days because of the storm - it's a private bus and I figured they wouldn't have planned for not getting paid those days and I was paid so wanted to be fair - I won't pay for half week if it's preplanned as they should budget for that Smile)
€26.50 cleaner
€5 tin whistle lessons in school - this should be €1 weekly but I didn't know until week 3 and then I forgot last week
€10 ladybirds which is for 5 weeks
€9.73 in local Centra on 3 icecreams and a protein bar Blush, I was a little PMT achey and crampy and feeling a little sorry for myself, it was spendy but kept me on track calorie wise, the icecreams were for dh and dc. Ds fell asleep beside me at 7.30pm on couch Bear

mammymammyIRL · 20/10/2017 08:53

fluffy Is this you? Link to saving £800 switching banks story

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/10/2017 08:57

No, but I've done all the same switches.

It's no trouble to switch.

mammymammyIRL · 20/10/2017 09:02

I thought you might have done more than him!

We don't have that kind of open market here in Ireland at all.

SnugglySnerd · 20/10/2017 09:03

Thanks for the TU heads up. Also the Aldi concealer tip off. I got the same one as you Pink and it's fab.

This is really sad but I had a great time in Aldi yesterday. Most unusually they had every single thing on my list so I won't need to go to another shop as well. They have also started stocking all the lovelyGerman Xmas treats. I may have bought a little something...

Hi life will have a ratchet around for gloves; with lights, do you need to just be seen by cars, or need to see where you're going? We've got Blackburn Flea lights (40 lumens front) and Smart Vulcans (100 lumens front) if you want to look them up. Both usb charging.

Forgot to mention the clutch is going/gone in my little C1. Boo. I've had it 3 years, 09 plate, and this is the first thing to go. Garage quoted £480+vat. The clutch costs £150 so dp will do it himself. He's good like that! But such a pain when I'm planning and budgeting for Christmas.

Was so glad I'd put a pork casserole in the sc yesterday as really couldn't be bothered when I got home last night. Enough for lunch today too. Macdonalds for tea as dd3 will be back! I've missed her so much.
