Good luck meadow

Cagliostro · 21/08/2017 14:38

I hope all is going well meadow!

Not a bad day here really, Caglets enjoyed doing science in the notebooks we bought last week. Off to soft play in a bit, entry and kids meals paid for but will obviously need food myself and most likely slushies 😳😳

I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet though and order a cheap, probably refurbished netbook. The laptop is not charging and it's not the cable 😡😰. I'm quite confused as to what I'd miss out on by not getting a proper laptop though, other than a cd drive, as some of the netbooks even seem to have MS office on them. Which would be great as we use that a fair bit. But a smaller device that can live in a drawer would be good. And cheaper.

Hi all, £75 in the uniform shop Shock and thats not even all of it!! Plus still need shoes and other bits....

Dd finally has a phone, its a nice Samsung one and going to cost £16.50 a month which includes £4 insurance which i thought was probably a good idea given she will be taking it to school etc. She is very pleased with it!!

WreckTangled · 21/08/2017 15:06

I just put our new bed together all by myself!

Ouch girlie

Cag I have a notebook for work and it's great.

LonelyOversharer · 21/08/2017 15:24

Hi everyone! Yesterday was epic. The races (4 of them) went really well, I think we put on a good show! I walked 6 miles round the hq village hall, I didn't leave the building for 12 hours, and didn't sit down.

We had a Chinese for tea as a reward, and I slept a lot last night.

Today I've used up a batch of bread dough making a thing like in the photo, very tasty. Pull apart pizza, mine was a bit messier! Plus I picked up the school blazers and dd's skirt. £23 as dd2's were already paid for. Just shoes and shirts to go now.

girlie can't go wrong with a samsung. Dd1 and dd2 have them. I still use mine (am very gradually changing over to my new sony). Very good value I think. It's a big step, getting a phone. But fun, dd2 sends me lots of emoji filled texts!

I buck the nappy trend and only used huggies (bar the hideous bambino mio year with dd1) - I love them. Of course they're pulled from uk shops now, but you get the huge boxes from costco and amazon. Have used aldi and lidl pull ups as night time pants with ds, both totally adequate. Never clicked with leaky pampers.

Your body is easing you into the totally un glam where-is-my-dignity late pregnancy gently em - there is worse to come! Catface will sense the lifechanging event coming. But, I guarantee she will be devoted to your baby boy.

Being driven slightly bonkers by the child next door when playing in our garden/ him in his garden. He gets sent out to play by himself now, especially when we are outside. I have to keep a certain amount of an eye on my DC as my little one is only two. But he keeps shouting for attention from me and he keeps pulling our plants so I tell him off but his parents never come out. DP was very fed up of it too when I came home from work last week. If I heard NDN telling my DC off I would definitely come out to supervise as they are obviously being a pain

SunnyLikeThursday · 21/08/2017 18:38

I've hired someone to paint our shed and am putting my feet up. #notFrugal

ememem84 · 21/08/2017 18:56

Ooooof. So happy to be home. It's been a LONG day. That last hour at work dragged.

Am feeling hurty all over at present. But I think it's more to do with being tired than anything else. Well that and we're at the home stretch now and I'm still trying to continue with life as I did months ago...dh is reigning me in though.

This evening I've washed up how on earth does one get stuck on/burnt jam off the job and have fed catface. Dh has moved everything baby related from the living room and has put it back in its right place.

Now getting ready to watch game of thrones.

Have a pile of post to sort out but will look at that tomorrow.

thewaitresses · 21/08/2017 19:33

Wow I've managed a NSD (not by design, more laziness as we didn't leave the house until 1pm and only did walk and local park). I'm in bed already for a good read and to catch up on 😴

SnugglySnerd · 21/08/2017 20:03

Em pour boiling water directly onto the jam. It should melt it enough to scrape off.

Need new Jamie Oliver series just starting on Channel 4!

I sometimes buy boys' stuff for DD too. Especially things like wellies. I've noticed lot more girl clothes with dinos, rockets etc on but you never see boy clothes with eg butterflies or rabbits!

SunnyLikeThursday · 21/08/2017 21:34

I managed to sell my tens machine for £18 on ebay. I was quite pleased about that. Ds asked what it was, and then told me he was very glad to be a bloke.

WreckTangled · 21/08/2017 22:02

Ds asked if he was cut out of my tummy the other day and when I explained where he actually came out he said 'ewww' Grin

SunnyLikeThursday · 21/08/2017 22:33

That seems like a fair comment Wreck. I feel much the same about it myself.

Taytocrisps · 21/08/2017 22:45

I ordered a Tesco delivery for tomorrow for €85.16 including €7 delivery charge. It should have been more but I had €8.50 in Clubcard vouchers. That will see me through the next 10 days or so but I have a lot of dry goods in my presses because I did a big stock up on them last time around.

I had DD's friend for a playdate today and she's staying tonight for a sleepover. She's a grand kid though and she likes her sleep so they're fairly quiet. Unlike some of the other girls who are awake giggling and screeching until 4 a.m.! She likes coming here because there's a big age gap between her and her younger sister. And of course, DD loves the company. So it's a win win all around.

needastrongone · 22/08/2017 06:49

Morning.

Girlie I have massaged you, sorry - you know what the first few days back are like after being off for 2 weeks. Work was a bit 'catch up, catch up' yesterday. xx

Snuggly I know!!!!! DH is away next week, I've got the last 2 episodes of Poldark, Jamie and possibly Holby City (my guilty occasional pleasure!) to watch. I think the new book will arrive tomorrow, I am sadly excited.

I hear the Fitbit research requests. It's on my list for this week. Are you all wanting to track activity rather than use it for sports fitness like perhaps I might do?

Spends yesterday
£10.50 pony feed.
£45 Boots on lots of 3 for 2 presents.
£6 Nuun tablets Amazon.

Cagliostro · 22/08/2017 07:03

Morning all. About to glug a bottle of glucose stuff (it's vile apparently) for my blood test and then will have to get to the hospital by 8.30. Then must get some plain paper as we've run out. Caglets will be drawing/labelling diagrams today. Got a friend coming round too.

Soft play was £££ for food and I felt a bit 'meh' - kids had fun but one of their friends was being picked on big time. DH got all protective and looked after him but it was so horrible. DD then had a rough night (granted much better than what a rough night would've been a few months ago - no tears/screaming) possibly due to the overwhelm of it all. So not entirely sure it's worth it. As of next week DS will be doing tae kwon do on Mondays anyway so that makes the decision for us really!

OP posts:
Cagliostro · 22/08/2017 07:16

And due to DD struggling I didn't get round to ordering Tesco last night for our usual Tuesday morning slot. So we need to sort out food.

The glucose stuff wasn't THAT terrible, like a sort of medicinal orange squash and better than original lucozade which is truly gross! Feel sick after chugging it back though ugh.

ememem84 · 22/08/2017 07:17

Much better sleep last night. Hoorah. Bed at 930 woke up at 4 to pee then slept again until 630. Catface followed me back to bed just after 4 and snuggled up on bed.

It's meant to be a nice day today. 26 degrees. I think.

Should be nsd or at least a lsd.

WreckTangled · 22/08/2017 08:00

Poor you cag hopefully it's all clear on the results.

I'm going out to lunch with my sister and bil today as they're down for a few days. Going for tapas yum!

ememem84 · 22/08/2017 08:05

cag oh poor you - good luck at your appointment.

I've got my 34 week appointment today. Eeek.

wreck oooh tapas. Yummy.

I should not have let dh watch game of thrones last night. It's all he's talking about. To be fair it was gooooooood. But far too many shots of the night king and the white walkers for my liking. They are scary!!

WreckTangled · 22/08/2017 10:34

Fluffy and anyone else in the know, I have really dry skin under my eyes and it looks awful and it sore. What should I buy?! I've tried all manner or moisturisers but only hydrocortisone works and I can only get the safe strength on prescription.

ememem84 · 22/08/2017 11:26

wreck what have you tried? I use clarins eye gel (which is about £16 for a teeny tube - but you don't need much each time so a tube lasts me about 5 months) I had super dry puffy under eyes. This has helped.

I'd previously tried all manner of other off the shelf ones but they seemed to make it worse/no better.

Cagliostro · 22/08/2017 11:28

Test done, I may have had hot chocolate and cake after :) bought a pack of paper as well.

Friend visiting shortly, might go for lunch just us two while we have the chance! DH is taking the Caglets to Tesco.

I could do with a nap though :o

OP posts:
WreckTangled · 22/08/2017 11:29

I've tried normal moisturisers, no 7 eye cream, a Reno, cetraben...

SnugglySnerd · 22/08/2017 11:54

Ugh Cag I've had two of those tests they are horrible. Hope the results are clear.

Should be NSD today and the sun is making an effort now!
