How are the poorlies feeling wreck and fluffy?

Just popped out to the shop for chocolate. £2.06 on a wisps gold and a raisin and biscuit girlie and some yellow sticker crumpets (reduced down to 54p!)

Have made a shopping list this afternoon and plan to go early doors Monday morning.

Have also just sent yet another an email to the letting agent for the flat upstairs from ours. The noise the people are making is absolutely unacceptable. Trouble is they don't think it is. Luckily other residents have also complained. So at least it's not just me being neurotic. I've told agent I'm willing to take it further and have contacted environmental health (true). Have also told her that she's not taking her job very seriously (possibly slightly harsh but true).

needastrongone · 05/08/2017 16:48

fluffy are you feeling any better? Hope you're okay.

It would depend on how good the au pair is mammy, if you don't want to lose her the I'd be tempted this once to let it go, but a future episode, not.

Exciting about the car girlie

Here's the view from the villa, it will be a struggle but we will cope for a week or two I thinkGrin

The driving over here is insane and I take my hat off to DH for dealing with it. I've seen loads of folk with no helmets on mopeds, babies sat on parents knees in the front seat of the car, a bloke texting while driving his moped and no discernible rules that I can followSmile

ememem84 · 05/08/2017 16:52

need looks awful. You'd better come home. Wink

You're in Italy yes? That's one place I don't think I could ever drive. Just so much crazy!!! Fair play and points to dh thoughfor tackling it.
Please ensure us all that you'll do as I did last year and eat you're entire body weight in pasta and gelato.

I am so sick of the neighbours noise that I just went into feel unique website to order the urban decay heat pallet. naughty however. It's out of stock. So left it.

WreckTangled · 05/08/2017 16:53

Wow need! Enjoy every minute, if you can I mean, I can see why it would be a struggle with that awful view Wink

I feel pretty rotten em but I'm still going to try and at least help decorate for my friends party even though I'll go straight home after. The noisy neighbours would piss me off I hate selfish people.

I haven't eaten properly for three days but I suddenly have a craving for a vesta curry 😂 it's a shame you can't get them easily

needastrongone · 05/08/2017 17:23

Wondering what vesta curry is? Hope you feel okay wrecked, lack of food will be making you feel weak too.

I take one for the team and stay here the full 2 weeks if I mustGrin

The view from the other side of is non too shabby.

Go you on the Heat palette Em, the desire might pass now! bloody neighbours. Italy is something special, it's my spiritual home I think. My friends husband is a professor of ancient Italian history, right in the part of Italy where we have come, so we've got loads of information and tips about where to go and what to see that is off the beaten track.

Get well soon wreck and fluffy

Have a lovely holiday need

Glad you've been able to sort your car girlie

mammy since she agreed to contribute at the time and it was her fault I'd be inclined to ask her how much she was planning on contributing now you've got the bill.

100yearsdotcom · 05/08/2017 17:40

I am loving the Xmas bargains thread! have bought DD'S Xmas present for next year as it's too good a bargain but she's too young for it this year 😂 £50 for that (should've been £180!)

£5.97 on 3 kindle books, I want to get back into my reading other than MN threads have found it really hard with baby as I used to read a lot in bed but too tired these days for that.

Oh and I keep forgetting to thank furchester for the oaty bites recipe, they were brilliant!

Cagliostro · 05/08/2017 17:52

Lovely view need 😍 Enjoy!

Ooh 100 what did you get from the bargain thread? We had one of the caglets' Christmas presents in our cupboard for over a year once but it was totally worth it (Playmobil pyramid which was being retired)

Just got back, lovely but tiring day. £30 lunch (after £50 MN gift card!) 😱 £3 fudge £8 sheet music £16 card games (educational ones :o) and DH bought snacks for the way home. Just got on the bus as it started chucking down so that was good timing. DD was happy to see the dinosaurs too :)

Cagliostro · 05/08/2017 18:21

Oh and £5 (£5!!!) passport photos, need them for bus pass

SunnyLikeThursday · 05/08/2017 18:40

It's interesting that you feel so utterly great around the horses Em. I found out the other day that there is a psychologist theory that society has moved on too fast for our slow evolving brains, and that if we go back and do the kind of things that we would have done in history then we feel much better. So stuff like riding horses, sitting chatting round a fire, swimming, and so on. I've tried it and it does work for me really well.

I like that theory. It makes it just easier to spot nice things that we could do to feel good. I like it much better than the idea of sitting in an office trying to do mindfulness meditation and feeling a bit cheesed off.

SnugglySnerd · 05/08/2017 19:05

Evening all! Sorry I've not checked in for a few days. Been super busy with the kids.

Em I'm still trying to decide on some lovely post-baby clothes to buy with last year's birthday money! I might as well leave it now until the autumn/winter stuff is in the shops as I will have had another birthday by then and hopefully more money to add to it! (I hope that doesn't sound presumptuous. My parents always give me cash these days instead of a present).

Spendy but lovely weekend so far. Take away last night and we had lunch out today instead of a picnic. Good job actually as it chucked it down at lunchtime. Had a lovely walk in the woods and through a meadow along a river. Lots of wildlife. It was lovely.

Need, that looks fire for sure. Don't know how you will cope.
Noisy neighbours are the worst. When ds screams do it near their wall.
£40 deisel, £4.59 MCD, chippie tea for dh and me £10 ish.

Baked up loads today - flapjack, 3x banana cake, 5 fairy cakes, Lennon drizzle traybake. Unfortunately I used an extra egg on the fairy cakes so Im 1 short for lemon meringue pie. I have 4 Lemmons to use up. Got one coming tomorrow off a school grandma do will make that tomorrow

Reversible City and Train Table Set

www.studio.co.uk/shop/en/studio/reversible-city-train-table-set-(120pcs)

It's this cag ^^
I've just realised it might have to be for Christmas 2019 as it's for 3-5 year olds but I think we'll see what bits aren't safe for a 2 year old and hold those back so she can have the rest next year. It's the cheapest deal around and the brio-style set alone could cost that much! It's great cos we're going to get a wooden top made for it so it can be a play/craft table too, should just need an offcut of wood I reckon.
I like the sound of the pyramid!

Cagliostro · 05/08/2017 21:35

Wow that's cool and what a bargain!

Laska5772 · 05/08/2017 21:51

The best Italian drivera ( Sicilian actually) were these: one driving along with a huge box of veg and oranges on the car bonnet and peerin around to see where he was going. The other driving an old cabless tractor down a mountain road inthe pouring rain whilst holding an umbrella in front if him and peering round. Both true absolutely on the same Sicilian holiday a few years ago ..

Laska5772 · 05/08/2017 21:58

Good trip to lakeland but only bought foil and wrapmaster cling. Nice lunch in waterstones cafe overlooking cathedral. Then down to motorhome dealership for a bit of a nose and discussion of what we might buy ( excited). Curry this evening . But friends and Dh are now watching athletics so I have been able to make excuses. It wouldnt have worked if I had stayed. I so hate watching sport id have only ruined it for them by being there.

Laska5772 · 05/08/2017 22:01

Need am a bit envious even though I have had a dose of Med sun this year. Have a fab time!

SunnyLikeThursday · 06/08/2017 01:14

Laska Your sicilian drivers sound fantastic. We have cyclists like that round us. I once saw someone trying to cycle down a road with a full sized water butt balanced in the basket on the front of his bike. I have no idea how he thought that would work.

We very often see people cycling with a passenger just sitting astride their pannier rack. I once saw a woman with a three year old sitting astride her pannier rack and shouting "Don't fall off!" over and over at him as he whined his way up the road. He eventually fell off.

The best or possibly worst I've seen was a young woman in beautiful flowing skirts cycling down a busy cobbled road on a lovely old fashioned bike with a wicker basket on the front. In the basket was an approximately 8 month old baby, that was just sitting unsupported and untethered. That's the only time I've ever felt that it might actually be a good idea to stop a mother and ask her to think whether what she is doing is really a good idea.

WreckTangled · 06/08/2017 07:37

I'm up! And I've had breakfast! Sesame seed bagel with cream cheese mmmm my throats still hurts but my fever has gone

Glad you sound a bit better wreck and hope fluffy is on the mend too

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend

Loveabaconsandwich · 06/08/2017 07:54

I must join the Christmas bargains thread. But I must not buy anymore toys! After decorations and gifts for hard to buy for adults

ememem84 · 06/08/2017 08:27

Morning all.

We've decided not to really focus on Christmas this year - we're not hosting, baby boy will at most be almost 3 months old, he won't care about it or know what's going on.

We'll get gifts for people but I'm pretty sure no one in the family will care about gifts this year!

wreck glad you're feeling a bit better

fluffy how are you doing? Xx

Nsd today.

We're going to go for a walk - taking a bag with us for blackberries which I can then freeze for jam making when I'm on leave - makes more sense than trying to do a huge haul when I'm huge too...!!

But first tea and crumpets for breakfast.

Catface is meowing at the baby seagulls which are wandering around our carpark. I think they've probably slipped off the roof. Poor things. I'd call the local animal shelter but have a horrible feeling they'll "make them go away" as they're considered to be a bit of a pest here - ice cream and sandwich stealers!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 06/08/2017 08:33

LSD planned today. Friends coming for dinner but making a chilli. Probably go to a park/ museum. £5 entry as dh recycled my ticket I got last week.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/08/2017 08:53

Feel awful,

Seagulls are excellent mothers, they should still find them & feed them.

Aren't they a protected species?.
