cag oh no!! Hopefully it's not back for good though! I think my nausea came back for a while but it went again.

So. Work talked. Then I talked with work. It was a long talk. We have ended up compromising on me taking longer off but going back full time. So instead of going back in February I'll go back first working day of may. The March to May but will be unpaid. But I'd previously spoken to dh about this and he was happy with me taking some unpaid leave.

That being said our accountant has said once I know what I want to do re coming back to let her know and she'll make sure I'm paid all the way through - just apportion my leave money accordingly. So that's good.

I do have to wait for that to be in writing formally but we've agreed it and are all happy.

As I was a bit twitchy at the conversation I ended up buying soup for lunch to go with my pitta. £2.15.

Dinner tonight - is going to be a cheesy bacon pasta bake. Mmmm. with garlic bread

Just got home. Weather awful but have to head back out to pick dh up at 730 from crossfit (whatever that is). Have thrown a load of washing in the machine - bedding. Not dhs stuff.

Much nicer day here, after non-stop rain and 12° all yesterday.

Glad you have come to an arrangement now, Em.

That's good news about your parents, Sunny. Hope it works out.

Spends: £25 hair cut; £3.95 lunch out (jacket potato); £9.57 B&M.

SunnyLikeThursday · 09/08/2017 18:35

Sorry to hear about the pregnancy symptoms Cag. That doesn't sound like a lot of fun.

Em I'm a bit dumbfounded that a law firm would mess around on the legal obligations of dealing with pregnancy. That gives me quite useful perspective on the rest of the world.

ememem84 · 09/08/2017 19:03

sunny you'd be amazed what legal firms get up to re their staff. Incidentally I don't work for a law firm anymore. We are a private client trust firm.

The laws are different here. I'm only entitled to 18 weeks leave by law. And then only if I've worked for my employer for more than 15 months. If less than 15 months legally I'm entitled to 2 weeks.

I'm taking approx 6 months. So they have been more than accommodating. It's a shame it took them this long to agree it.

A lot of friends told me I was entitled to a full year because they are with their work - but they work for uk companies (Barclays, Hsbc etc). If I'd stayed with my other place I'd have got a full year paid. But the old place was hell. So I'm glad I got out a couple of years ago!

Pasta bake is in the oven

SnugglySnerd · 09/08/2017 19:20

It's been a strange day here. Morning like a wet November. Afternoon like a warm May. Nothing like frigging August though! At least I managed to get out for some fresh air and let DD run off some energy this afternoon.

NSD but only because my lovely mum picked up a few bits of shopping for us and wouldn't let us pay her back.

We've had horrendous rain all day!

Laska5772 · 09/08/2017 19:41

Yes rain just across the water too Wreck.. Ive just made a jacket spud for tea.. I rarely eat those anyway ,and I think never have in summer before , but I got soaked lunchtime and couldnt warm up at all sitting in the office all afternoon in my wet sandals ..

Laska5772 · 09/08/2017 19:46

NSD , but have ordered 3 Boden (sale) dresses , as sadlyI have to go to a funeral in a week and dont have anything dark/ suitable to wear which isnt winter weight. Hopefully one will be suitable and I will send the others back

( but then I may not need to keep any of them if weather carries on like this! )

ememem84 · 09/08/2017 19:50

I'm currently sitting in the car waiting for dh to leave the effing gym. He said 730 pick up. So I dutifully arrived here at 730.

Is it reasonable for me to leave after 25 minutes of waiting? Giving him another 5 minutes? Dinner is going to be ruined.

Aaaaaahhhhh. No regard for other people's time. and I almost caved and did his laundry

Taytocrisps · 09/08/2017 20:04

Don't do it em. Don't give in. If it's bothering you now, imagine how much more it will bother you when the laundry levels increase with the new baby!

Apparently SIL is only staying for 5 minutes (she's picking up some of her belongings). I'll have to eat all the Club Milks by myself.

Cagliostro · 09/08/2017 20:27

NO LAUNDRY!!! Don't do it!

ememem84 · 09/08/2017 20:39

He arrived just as I turned the car on to leave #lucky. I told him not to apologise for being late. Because if he was sorry he wouldn't have been late.

I have not caved.

For tomorrow he has no clean shirts. No clean pants (he bought more) and no clean socks.

lifelongfrugaleer · 09/08/2017 20:44

Pleased you got sorted em. Don't worry about the unpaid bit your frugal ninja skills will see you through.

£30 in sainsbury today. Must get currency orders. £42 on hype for school bag and birthday present for ds

Cagliostro · 09/08/2017 21:18

Seacow look for special needs forest school too. The lady who runs our home ed one also does a SN class (we discovered this when my friend's DS had a huge meltdown and she was absolutely fab with him). Worth asking around
