Ta snuggly
Spends today are £2.79 for anbesol as poor baba is really starting to struggle with teething, and £80 on weekly food shop Shock but that's cos there's a few things we needed to restock which will last a couple of months.

WreckTangled · 21/07/2017 16:58

£30 fuel
£76 tesco
£70 on the first two weeks of after school club.

northender · 21/07/2017 17:39

Thanks for the new thread snuggly
Hope dvd enjoys her last day Girlie and that your migraine settles quickly.
lonely our house has always been full of clutter & dust too but I'm nearing the end of our big declutter (it has taken months) just need to tackle the dust now. Keep going, it will be worth it!
Good day at work today, petrol (£10) is the only spend so far. I'm going to the cricket club shortly to do my burger & sausage duty although rain is supposed to be imminent. Dh has taken ds & his friend to another cricket match.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/07/2017 17:44

£17 Dh px.

I'm not one for clutter. Dh & the cat on the other hand.....being away made me realise just how much of my housework is feline related.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/07/2017 17:52

OMG cag, hopefully before the next caglet arrives.

I'd hire a skip, it's pricey but a lot less effort & you haven't got a car to do tip runs in.

CremeEggThief · 21/07/2017 18:07

Definitely go for the skip, Cag. Be ruthless!
Glad the dual medication is helping with the pain, Laska.

The new house is great, North. Thanks for asking.

Spends: £4.66 postage; £4.29 late lunch AND a lemonade in Wetherspoons; 79p freezer bags in B&M and £3 window cleaner. Total: £12.74, if my mental maths is right.

LonelyOversharer · 21/07/2017 18:19

Four bin bags of misc crap in car for the big bin at the shop. Phew! Just a bit of the hall (it's a sort of room) cleared, but you can open the front door fully again. Three loads of laundry done, two on the line. It's drizzly, but really windy.

Tescos, £17. I seem to be shopping day to day at the moment. I will get a grip next week! Dp got me a takeaway costa, which was lovely. The freezer is so full, I'm going to do an audit, and see how long we can eat out of it in August.

Right, am off to tackle a bit of the conservatory, it's a massive dumping ground.

Cagliostro · 21/07/2017 18:19

Yes exactly, having no car means we can't do it ourselves really. My dad happily did it when they visited but he can't drive anymore either! Council collect massive stuff for a fee (they did our sofa and fridge last year) but they don't do random collections of stuff.

I am just a little wary of not being able to get our money's worth IYSWIM. What if we can't manage enough decluttering done in a short time (due to work and my health/energy) and it's money wasted? We are already debating whether DH should cancel his leave in August in order to save more for supplementing paternity leave when cagletini arrives. So not sure when we would have time. But it seriously needs doing.

Some things are what we will not be taking to the new place. We have a small oven on the kitchen counter, and the caglets' beds for example. So it'll mean living without an oven again (hob is built in so still have that) and the Caglets having their mattresses on the floor - they will be fine with that as they like sleeping on the floor, but it'll mean moving their clothes (currently stored in drawers/wardrobe under beds) etc. So it's a choice to make about how long is too long to put up with the changes. But also do we risk leaving it a long time and not getting all this stuff done before (a) we get housed, and have to move at short notice, and (b) cagletini arrives!

Laska5772 · 21/07/2017 18:20

Cat definately did it on purpose. Did you forget that you are his/her Slave snuggly and can only vacumn when cat is out? Grin

its absolutely Nissing it down here right now, - a bit of a change from Greek weather ..

I have made the Ottolenghi burger mix into a meatloaf and added dill (of which we have tons in garden also ) and feta to it . ...Smells wonderful cooking, I cant think why i never thought of doing that before.. . We wil have that with mixed tomatoes (the yellow ones are home grown and ripe already ) , the yoghurt and sumac sauce suggested with recipe , green salad and ciabatta . All welcome!

letmepeeinpeace · 21/07/2017 18:24

Can I join?! My first question is, who shops at lidl and what do you recommend?

WreckTangled · 21/07/2017 18:39

At lidl:

Caramel waffles
EVERYTHING from the bakery
Their roast in the bag chickens
Own brand mars bars mmm
Biscuits
Chipolatas

Hmm what meals do you usually eat? I really like lidl there isn't much I don't get from there really. I'm not too keen on their strawberries and raspberries as they go off too quickly.

LonelyOversharer · 21/07/2017 18:51

With regards to Lidl, I'd simply take your normal list, go round and get their own stuff and see how you go. I found very little I didn't like. Their continental meats are ace, and most of the fresh is Britsh red tractor, as is the cheese. Branded stuff in there is expensive, I think they stock the brands to catch us napping, or to just show us how cheap their own stuff is in comparison! All dry goods are great, cereals etc really good. Go for it. Pass the bakery at your own waistline peril!

Only onee punnet of raspberries and strawbs at a time, yes -but they only last half a pudding here anyway! So no time to go off.

Wheelycote · 21/07/2017 18:54

Found you allSmile Evening

Shiraznowplease · 21/07/2017 18:58

Well I am going to start tomorrow, bought sweets for children and sleeping bags so they could camp out in lounge due to biblical rain here and promised we could have friends over for picnic so it was a bribe. Dh going to be busy preparing for his interview this weekend and I am going to try declutter so not planning on spending much or going out much this weekend

ememem84 · 21/07/2017 19:03

cag get the skip. It'll be a spend but I imagine you'll get your money's worth. If you're paying for it more likely to use it maybe?

Spent the afternoon watching tv. Finished watching the girl on the train, watched who do you think you are (Claire balding), inside the factory and am now watching dexter.

It is pissing it down now.

I haven't achieved as much as I'd hoped today. But I've chilled out so that's good.

No lie in for me tomorrow. We've got the telecoms people coming up anytime between 8am and 12 to fit our fibre broadband.

FridgeCut · 21/07/2017 19:09

Wasn't a NSD, picked up car, this one was £280 which was mostly the new part. Then I had to go to aldi, crisps and dip for a girls night tomorrow, six lots of soya, sirachha, painkillers, 2 lots of nappy pants and some loo roll came to £20.

I've been paying for some kids activites and a parking pass for the woods.

Cagliostro · 21/07/2017 19:14

I hope we would use it enough to make the price worthwhile! Think I'm going to write a list of what we would be skipping - the big stuff I mean as little bits and pieces we've been trying to do gradually anyway. Then we can figure out what changes we'd be having to make to accommodate losing that stuff early (e.g. only having hob not oven).

What did you think of the girl on the train? I have to admit I thought the book was crap, really poorly written and predictable (which for me says a lot as I am rubbish at predicting plot twists!)... and yet I still want to see the film as the adverts made it look brilliant.

Cagliostro · 21/07/2017 19:19

I think maybe we would not skip the oven if we get the skip soon. Fussy kids barely eat a range of meals as it is, and I don't always have the energy to do anything but stick a pizza in the oven. And even things like pasta bake would be out. I suppose at least one small oven could be collected by council for a smaller fee or maybe even a charity shop? Hmmm lots to think about.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/07/2017 19:25

Welcome Peace. The worst I can say about lidl is that they often sell out of unsweetened soya milk, and the cat food contains cereals.

LonelyOversharer · 21/07/2017 20:41

Ah fluffy two of my brand-only things! Only alpro coconut milk (it is devine!) and my old boy will not touch generic cat food. The wee snob. He has a litter tray, despite bring an outside cat, now he's old, but he waits for me to clean it out, scratches the litter out and proceeds to poo over the edge onto the floor. It is clearly deliberate.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/07/2017 20:50

Our cats on gourmet. With the waitrose discount it's not exorbitant.

We have essentials range, he gets gourmet Hmm

WreckTangled · 21/07/2017 20:51

Our cat has purina one. I don't know if he's fussy or not but I cat find a cheaper one that does a light version

ememem84 · 21/07/2017 21:07

Catface has royal canin appetite control biscuits. I buy on Amazon though. 3.5kg arriving on Monday. We happened to go to the garden centre today and I checked the price of the same bag £19.99. I paid £10.55 on Amazon.

Dh spent £9 on a miniature bottle of jersey royal gin and some sweeties. I've had a wee sip of the gin. My god it's good. He's enjoying it now. I am a smidge jealous.

But might get him a full size bottle for his as an anniversary gift.

ememem84 · 21/07/2017 21:09

cag I never read the book. I kept meaning to but never got round to it.

Movie was good/ok. I felt sorry for the Rachel initially. But yeh. Strange. I didn't like the twist as thought it was fairly obvious.

ememem84 · 21/07/2017 21:09

Dh was suprised I worked it out to be honest. Given I had to watch the sixth sense 3 times to work that one out....
