Em our living room looks like a nursery. Play mats, bouncy chairs and megablocks all over the place. Never mind the garden toys and rapidly expanding "art" collection! I keep telling myself it's only for a short while and in ten years we'll be lucky if they come out of their rooms! Have pm'd you btw. Thank you.

Blowing a hooley here too! Am tucked up in the bed in the spare room with catface who helpfully has decided to snuggly up on the duvet right inbetween my legs. Absolutely no chance of me moving without disturbing her.

laksa we love beach picnics. Beauport is one of my faves but omg yes the bloody steps down!!! And lack of toilets. Haven't been there this year. Not sure I'd make it back up in one piece!!!

Spa day tomorrow. Yay! I'll be a new woman.

WreckTangled · 28/07/2017 22:39

I've just de-toyed our sitting room. It's lovely Grin I'm sure it won't last!

Very windy here too.

100yearsdotcom · 28/07/2017 23:14

Loving the talk of treasure!

Em our cats are always doing that, I love that they want to be so close but it's a pain when you're trying to turn over half asleep in the middle of the night!

SunnyLikeThursday · 29/07/2017 03:15

Our weather is not rainy or windy, but just grey at the moment. Lots of thick grey cloud and jumpers on all round.

We've had some good trips to the swimming pool, which costs a bit but has been really good fun.

Also my parents are down and we're house-hunting for them which is very exciting. Usually when I house hunt I am looking at huge places in Scotland on rightmove, and pipe dreaming. Doing it the opposite way, with houses in SE England and a Scottish house budget is trickier. We're keeping at it though.

Cagliostro · 29/07/2017 05:57

Thanks re: dry shampoo tips!

Can't sleep. Not sure what plans are today so no idea if spendy

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/07/2017 07:26

Looks quite sunny outside here. Rained last night though.
£40 hair cut today. Probably another £40 on food when i decide what we are eating

WreckTangled · 29/07/2017 07:31

Sunny how much does swimming cost you? Our local one is £4.95 for adults and the dc are free.

I'm meeting up with a friend today. We were going to go to London but I told her I couldn't afford it so we're just going out for lunch instead. I still can't afford it but don't want to let her down.

mammymammyIRL · 29/07/2017 07:53

Ah guys I miss ye, hopefully I'll get back to catch up with ye later Smile

WreckTangled · 29/07/2017 08:16

I measured him 😂 yep that's 35 inches

Saving into summer!
Loveabaconsandwich · 29/07/2017 08:16

Both DDs slept until 8am! Another day of swimming, long walks and play areas for us then Grin to wear them out again.

I expect today will be spendy. DP has booked somewhere for dinner and it would be rude not to go to the pancake place for brunch if we're passing. I have been saving cashback and survey money that pay out in £s into a separate bank account so using that as treat money

LonelyOversharer · 29/07/2017 08:34

love you're in CP aren't you? Nothing like it for tiring small dc out! Dd3 actually fell asleep in the pool when she was 2. Dp and I stared at her and then both screamed and dived to grab her in seemingly slow motion! Yes, do treat yourselves as much as you can! You'll be so tired when you get back!

wreck I do love your cat! Mine has just been very whiney as he had to come in through the conservatory and not the front door like he wanted. I have noted his dissaproval.

Shop and work and home for us today. Not overly exciting, and hopefully not at all spendy.

Swimming at the naice new pool (just pools, no flumes or anything) is £16 for the 6 of us. I think that's really good value as we try to go when it's not busy so generally have the place to ourselves.

Laska5772 · 29/07/2017 08:48

Lovely cat! Oops ignore my last two posts _ they were supposed to be on another thread! Duh!!

ememem84 · 29/07/2017 09:13

100years catface stayed there completely soundo until about 3 am. I woke up and felt this lumpy thing there reached out and scared her awake (oopsy). She then pounced me for about 10 minutes before going back to sleep.

Dh has just fed her and she's now curled up under the bed in her "safe corner" spare bed is pushed right up against the wall so no one can get to her in that corner. Keep hearing sighs and snores coming from under the bed. She's obviously had a tough morning already!

Today's pamper day has started out nicely. I've been brought tea and a "smoothie bowl" aka a bowl of cut up fruit. And Nutella on toast. In bed. At 12 dh is dropping me at the hotel so I can swim and maybe sauna and steam - can I do that while pregnant? I know hot tubs are out which is a shame as the one there is lovely. Salt water. So feels super nice. Then facial, body scrub, leg massage, pedicure. Then as an extra suprise dh is meeting me afterwards and treating me to afternoon tea. Did I ever tell you how he's my favourite? still not doing his washing though or at least not until it makes its way into the basket

Should be a nsd for me. Dh on the other hand....

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/07/2017 09:45

I don't think you can sauna while pg, you can't use sun beds so heat from a saunas probably out too.

Something to do with temperature regulation.

ChristmasSeacow · 29/07/2017 09:45

Em with hot tubs it's the raised temperature that's a problem so I should think the same will apply to saunas etc. There's evidence that an increase in the mother's core body temperature can lead to birth defects. TBH I'd have thought for a one-off exposure late in pregnancy it's very low risk but since I don't know I probably wouldn't. I doubt they'll let you anyway, sorry.

I love weekends - hurrah for a 1:1 ratio of adults to children!

ememem84 · 29/07/2017 09:55

Ok. So a gentle float in the pool it is then. I'm booked in for a preggo package so I'm guessing they'll tell me anyway.

Had the best sleep last night. As did dh. Sometimes separate beds are great. I could stretch right out and wasn't disturbed by him.

100yearsdotcom · 29/07/2017 10:52

Yeah unfortunately you should avoid sauna and steam while pregnant so I guess dh will just have to arrange for a post-birth spa day for you to make up for it! Grin

I am always accidentally on purpose poking cats awake - I have a sleep disorder so can get very confused at what the furry lump next to my legs is whilst half asleep 😂

Loving wreck stretchy catface! 😊

Cagliostro · 29/07/2017 10:55

You'll just have to go back for a postnatal spa day too em :o

Cagliostro · 29/07/2017 10:55

Ha xpost!

100yearsdotcom · 29/07/2017 10:56

Ha great minds! 😂

ChristmasSeacow · 29/07/2017 12:39

TBH I think you'll enjoy it even more post-natally (you can sleep through a massage, right?)

lifelongfrugaleer · 29/07/2017 12:51

£30 butchers, £5 co-op. Can't find my tomato food so had to resort to cold stewed tea. Probably need a trip to wilko add need a scrubbing brush for my spuds

ememem84 · 29/07/2017 12:56

seacow oh yes. And facials. I always sleep through massages and facials.

Although when we were holidaying in turkey a few years ago I booked us into the hotel spa. I had a Thai massage. Essentially a small Thai lady beat me up for an hour. Manipulated al joints and muscles. I'd booked it because I thought it would be relaxing-a-Mundo. Turns out not. I was very jealous of dhs hot stone massage. Haha!!

I've just had a swim in the pool. 10m pool. I've done 40 lengths. Then had a sit down on the bubble bench. And am now changed into a dry swimsuit and am chilling in the relaxation room. Cucumber water green tea plinky plucky music and a fashion magazine (vogue).

I've helped some ladies out with restaurant recommendations - they're on holiday and super hungover from what I can gather.

Taytocrisps · 29/07/2017 13:29

A very quick hello 'cos I've loads to do today and haven't done anything much yet Blush. I'll catch up properly tomorrow. Enjoy your spa day em. Sounds like sheer bliss so far.
