laska I can only imagine the watery mess my younger dc would make of that! Have cleared the floor, chucked out about a dozen empty shampoo bottles. Need to prise 2 tiles off the floor to fit bigger ones (luckily I kept hoarded the left overs from fitting the shower 4 years ago) so there is no gap to the bath. It appears that dp also hoards used razor blades. I have thrown his stash away.

WreckTangled · 28/07/2017 13:06

SnugglySnerd · 28/07/2017 15:30

£1 today on paper plates to make fish. Haven't actually had time to make them yet. Not sure when that will happen bloody Pinterest

We have just reached tired and grumpy stage today. Luckily I found some old bead necklaces and bangles which have saved the day. DD thinks it's treasure!

Wow! snuggly I remember finding "treasure" when I was a kid. I has a special treasure box for it. Does dd have a treasure box? If so would she like some "mermaid treasure" aka sea glass? We've got tonnes here - more than happy to pop a few pieces in the post.
X

SnugglySnerd · 28/07/2017 16:16

Em she would absolutely love that. Thanks. Will pm address later.
This has actually stirred some lovely memories of trying on all my nan's necklaces and sorting all the buttons in her button jar.

Back from town

Spends
£17 Primark on new work cardigan and a freezer picnic bag.
£7 Subway for lunch and me and dd.
£13 Superdrug on various toiletries
£8 Card WareHouse

£36 Sainsburys, bought dd the Moana dvd as a holiday treat, also got cat litter, food and food for tea tonight (got a friend coming over.)

Had a look at some phones for dd but lost the will to live before actually getting her one!! Found a basic smart phone for £8.50 a month which seemed the best one to get, will double check with Tesco mobile as well though.

WreckTangled · 28/07/2017 16:37

Girlie don't forget to check out the health services discounts for a phone for dd

Cagliostro · 28/07/2017 16:47

Odd question, how do you actually use dry shampoo? I got a little can to try as they were out of the caglets' detangle spray and I wanted something to keep at mum's (guess who forgot the toiletries). But there's no directions so I don't know how close to spray it, how much etc

Spends
£8 Boots (brush to keep here, and spray)
£3 bus (seriously need to sort out my disabled bus pass ffs)
£30 Primark - top each for the Caglets (DS never gets new clothes really as he gets so many hand me downs from friends, so I treated him to a transformers t-shirt!), 7 baby vests, 6 muslin squares and a power pack phone charge thingy - I've heard the Primark one is actually quite decent for the price but we shall see.

Had lunch out with parents but couldn't taste a damn thing as nose is blocked!

Wheelycote · 28/07/2017 16:54

I'm leaving the building. What a kak week at work. Is it bad to be giddy leaving work!!!! 😂😀😀

Laska5772 · 28/07/2017 16:57

People... I suggest you look elsewhere for those gargoules if you want them.. had email from ebay seller is really not happy about the postage I paid ( which was what she asked, and didnt mention IOW being any more.) it seems that I am 'offshore' to her, except i am not for either Uk post or couriers..)

So she annoyed that its cost her more than if we were 5 miles away in Southampton instead of IOW. (only it hasnt cost here more as we pay Royal mail uk mainland rates here !).. Em i am sure you understand..)

I do hate it when companies try and charge us more because we are 2 miles on the other side of the Solent.. we get mail here too you know! (oh she is sending them as 'goodwill' I may just send them back!

SnugglySnerd · 28/07/2017 16:59

Cag I spray it quite close to the roots and sort of rubbish through.

WreckTangled · 28/07/2017 17:06

Laska what a stupid woman. You have a Portsmouth postcode ffs.

CremeEggThief · 28/07/2017 17:34

People will moan about anything these days.Confused

Spends: £6.95 in Home Bargains and Aldi (milk, bread, cereal, olives, deodorant for DS and STs).

Happy Friday, everyone Smile.

ememem84 · 28/07/2017 17:44

cag apparently for best results you're meant to apply the night before... but I tip my head upside down spray on the underside and throughout the top of my hair leave it for 10 mins or so then rub it through and brush/style/screw up in a messy bun today's choice as required.

If you've got brown hair and bought the batiste brunette one don't use the night before. Especially if you have white pillowcases. Learnt that lesson.....

I swear by dry shampoo. It super helped me train my hair to only really needing to be washed twice a week. I use it on day three.

laksa Eugh postage. Offshore postage. Eugh. I feel the pain. Although technically you're offshore as in you're an offshore island but not in the tax dodging bad offshore like what we are here in our little tax haven. we're not tax dodgers. Or a tax haven. We work hard and are all legal and above board here honest

snuggly I'll dig out some mermaid treasure for dd. Ive got a jar of pretty shells (nothing exotic just yellow winkles/ normal winkles/ whelks/ mussel shells etc) and sea glass which we pick up on beach walks. So pm me your address ans I'll send it across.

I must find my treasure box actually. Have gone all nostalgic.

LonelyOversharer · 28/07/2017 17:44

Did a trip to argos, 8 pillows, two little sets of plastic draws for dd3 (will make a desk top to straddle them, she has a huge knackered chest of draws that needs to go), new mirrors for the bathroom, and 3 for 2 on toys so £129. Went through top cashback so should get a whopping 1.05% back.

£50 in asda on food, bathmat, house stuff and lots of back to school pens (had dd1 and 2 with me).

Have ripped up the tiles, located the 'new' ones, just need to get the tile cutter out (hope it still works), and can fix the floor. Everyone has said how big the stupidly tiny bathroom looks, now I have picked up and thrown out all the junk. Just wish someone else had hands around here.

Might use the 3 for 2 to stock up on lego for Christmas. It could be a big saving if I went for 3 expensive things. Sadly only dd3 and ds want toys now. Dd1 and 2 are far too cool.

LonelyOversharer · 28/07/2017 17:48

Is it really awful that the spare bathroom floor tiles were in the front garden leaning against the old bath (which has spuds growing in it)? We're that house aren't we.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/07/2017 18:12

em That's not what I've heard from an IOM resident Wink

Lonely Once the kids move out you can have a white minimalist house. I hear one of our extended family has one, kids adults but know the score on making mess. I.E don't make any fucking mess.

NSD.

ememem84 · 28/07/2017 18:34

fluffy I have a mostly neutral coloured apartment. Fairly minimal. A grown up space. Reality hit yesterday and we were thinking " bye bye grown up space. Hello baby toys and associated parephenalia"

Booked my last three days of annual leave today. The boss pointed out that these three days will be my last "proper" holiday days. On my own. For ever... 😭😩😀😂😉

Nsd.

100yearsdotcom · 28/07/2017 19:48

Managed to catch up with thread again then promptly forgot who said what.... >sigh<

I've managed a NSD today but 'accidentally fell into the mamas and papas sale yesterday.... £62 later but at least that's covered a couple of presents for DD for Xmas, gifts for newborns coming later this year, gift for cousins for Xmas, and a liner for DD's pram seat as I thought that would help with eventual resale value of her pram because it'll keep the seat a lot cleaner.

I'm going to start on Xmas gifts for the rest of DD's cousins soon so that December won't bear the brunt. Thankfully on one side of our scarily massive family we don't do presents for the adults and on the other we do secret santa.

Coppersulphate · 28/07/2017 19:58

NSD here. Didn't go out. Pouring with rain. Spent all day cleaning the house. It was mucky. Not any more.
Seacow, that is too awful for DS. DGS was similar. Because of his operation he could go to the "graduation" but nothing boisterous. They had dancing and jumping about. DD could have kept him home if she'd known but she had been told it would be ok.
Snuggly when DGD was 3 we bought a "treasure chest" off eBay or Amazon and collected lots of " treasure" , made a treasure map which she " accidentally" found and then she dug up the treasure. Has all sorts of rubbish in it. She was so excited we thought she would burst..

Laska5772 · 28/07/2017 20:48

Yep Em offshore post rates ....Hmm 'Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum' offshore it seems to them.....we can pay though the nose..they think.. Angry

BTW I cant wait to come back there to Beauport Bay for a seafood picnic and bottle of chilled white ( which of course we will have to carry down with us)..

Meanwhile on the West Wight right now its blowing an utter hooley . it dont feel at all like summer here right now!

Loveabaconsandwich · 28/07/2017 21:00

em if you book an a/l day when DS is booked into childcare, it would be very unfrugal for them not to go Wink . Being poorly on a sick day alone is also rather lovely unless you are really, really on death's door poorly

Soggy here but having a lovely time. Heating has been on as not our electric bill and a bit chilly. Spent £70 on dinner but we couldn't remember the last meal out we've had that wasn't McDonald's . DDs are worn out and went to bed quietly together, let's hope they don't get up too early as it's my turn to get up with them

Laska5772 · 28/07/2017 21:04

Blowing a Hooley. - our local definition, (as I am originally a 'Hampshire Hog') Grin. Blowing a Hooley = stormy gale but withintermittent wind, mostly strong gusts , .. you would expect to usually wake up to fences down, animals out, boats lost from moorings ...

Laska5772 · 28/07/2017 21:23

... and we have all the supermarkets - every one i think,- .. as wel as cars /hospital/schools /internet/ 4G phone network and everything else (also great local made food, milk , farm meats, ice cream, honey, veg, dairy and cheese!!)

Laska5772 · 28/07/2017 21:25

.. and beaches.. sandy beaches, (most of them anyway)
