Shock Wow that's a work of art, do you not feel tempted to buy a slab of cake for eating instead like they do at weddings.

em Your bumps so neat looking.

Girlie That's pants. Truly shit.

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/06/2017 15:17

This is what £180 looks like in nail supplies. It's a bit underwhelming.

lonely wow! That's amazing.

CremeEggThief · 10/06/2017 16:11

Yum, Lonely, it's almost too good looking to eat!

Need, how lovely to getc that letter about your DD. Really great news about DPony too. Smile

NSD so far, but contemplating going out for tea at a pub.

SnugglySnerd · 10/06/2017 17:03

Lonely that's amazing!

Loveabaconsandwich · 10/06/2017 17:29

Wow lonely ! You are going to have one very happy little boy

Could you not go into professional cake baking?

My mum gave us a big slab of cake yesterday that someone had baked for her to share at church for their anniversary. It was amazing and DP commented on how much nicer it was than MILs fruitcake . People do seen willing to pay ££s for bespoke cakes nowadays

NSD Halo but I have spent the afternoon asleep which always helps!

girlie I feel so cross at the lack of pay awards for people who do such essential jobs. The TC thing is just an added slap in the face Angry

AdoraBell · 10/06/2017 18:08

£17 on fruit and veg.

need that's lovely 😆 and glad Dpony is healing so well.

That cake looks amazing lonely

Girlie Angry on your behalf. Hope DD is okay.

Certainly doesn't look like a lot for the money fluffy

Taytocrisps · 10/06/2017 18:20

Fab cake Lonely. I think you should change your user name to FabTalentedLady

Sorry to hear about the tc cuts Girlie

Spends of €15.22 on lunch ingredients for 5 and sweets/crisps for tonight's movie. MIL and FIL called in and stayed for a long lunch. They confirmed that FIL's been diagnosed with COPD. I kind of suspected it as he's had a series of chest infections in recent months and ended up in A&E one night with breathing difficulties. But PILs confirmed it today. He's just been diagnosed so should be ok in the short term so long as he manages his condition carefully. But we're aware that it's a progressive disease Sad. DD was there when we had this conversation but doesn't know what COPD is, so we didn't enlighten her. She knows her Grandad hasn't been well but she doesn't know the full extent of it.

MIL brought us a home made almond tart but we already had a rhubard tart and scones, so we'll freeze the almond tart and use it some other weekend when funds are low.

We also got some free books from the library and I got to read the local paper for free while DD was choosing her books.

I gave DH and DD a master class in hanging up clothes today. DH can hang up clothes but sticks pegs in very weird places so he ends up with peg marks in the middle of shirts etc. Grin. He also hangs clothes all on top of each other on one section of the clothes line (we've a rotary clothes line) so the air can't circulate between them, instead of spacing them out. DD was a bit pouty about acquiring a new chore. I don't expect her to do 100% of the laundry but it will be nice to have some help at weekends. Also, she's a bit lazy when it comes to wearing clothes. So she'll wear something for a few hours, take it off and throw it on her bed. Then it ends up on the floor and inevitably makes its way back to the laundry basket. I'm hoping she'll have a greater appreciation of how much work goes into laundry and become a bit more careful of her clothes. And of course, there's a cost element too - detergent and fabric conditioner and electricity to run the washing machine.

MeadowHay · 10/06/2017 18:31

My spends for today was about a tenner in the local supermarket on a few groceries that we needed, and then like £13 on fathers' day presents for my dad and DH's granddad in my local independent gift shop. It feels so weird not to be able to buy my own granddad a card and gift. Sad Anyways so that was like £23ish. I'm so proud I managed to go to the shops up the road by myself, I can't remember the last time I managed that. Grin I was sweating like crazy from anxiety lol but I still managed it. And tomorrow there is an event on at the market which I am going to go to for a few hours for lunch with a friend which will be nice. So actually an ok weekend rather than the boring lonely one I was predicting given DH is working.

Copper I posted the lego cards for you while I was out today, so they should be with you next week I hope.

Lonely That cake is amazing Shock !!!!!!!

CremeEggThief · 10/06/2017 18:52

Resisted the pub for tea and had pizza and ice cream at home, so NSD after all.

needastrongone · 10/06/2017 19:31

Thanks guys, for your general lovelinessSmile

Have a super day girlie, things will change soon I am sure. Xx

em, you look so slim still. Can I say in a very patronising manner, enjoy your first pregnancy. There's nothing like it, the next one isn't the same, it's special, but different. Plus, you have a toddler usually in tow, even when you're knackered!!

That cake is fucking amazing, enough said... just brilliant.

My Sil had a cake making business for years, she's hugely talented at it. Sadly, there's a ceiling to which folk will pay, way below the time put in to creating these amazing creations. Customers expect you to be able to accept an order at a few days notice, barter like mad, expect delivery but won't pay transport. She gave up after a few years, I've never seen her so stressed. The thing is, making cakes like that, you can't just give 80%, or a cake to the price folk are willing to pay. Essentially, it's not cost efficient.

Fluffy, not a lot for the price is it?

Meadow, bloody well done on today, that's fabulous. Thing is, you did it, you bloody did it!!!

Spent at Boots but used my points so NSD.

needastrongone · 10/06/2017 19:33

Tayto I'm sorry about the diagnosis, least pegs get used by other family members, the rest of my family chuck it over the line.Grin

needastrongone · 10/06/2017 19:36

Tayto I forget, how old is DD? I was never made to do chores, my dc are expected to, and it does no harm whatsoever, I was useless as a young adultSmile I'm glad your DD didn't fully appreciate the diagnosis, at least not yet.

needastrongone · 10/06/2017 19:42

Sneaky pick of the grass, the hedge was very scary tonight, the hedge that is the same hedge that has always been there and never been a scary hedge before.......

Frugaleers - joyfully jumping into June
Fluffycloudland77 · 10/06/2017 20:06

Your hedge is haunted. Animals can see these things.

Coppersulphate · 10/06/2017 20:10

Need and Cag, we are happy to celebrate your DCs with you. Good for both of you. I am sure you are very proud.

lifelongfrugaleer · 10/06/2017 20:16

£140 ish spent today on food, hair and takeout. Overtime this morning will more than cover it.
Sorry missed loads but have been reading. Pleased about everyone's achievements and their DC.
Lonely fab cake.
Ah d pony

teabagsmummy · 10/06/2017 20:18

Hi everyone, sounds like everyone has been busy, not been on for a few days as baby ds had injections on Tuesday and has been very clingy. He seems a bit better tonight.
Made £120 on eBay sold my iPad I hardly used it. So that will go towards my cars mot it needs new tyres as some idiot has been fly typing and something has damaged my tyre.
lovely your cake looks amazing

ememem84 · 10/06/2017 20:48

need lovely ponyface! I had been told that about pregnancy no 1. Enjoy it as if there's a second I'll have zero time to myself because will have ds around. If it helps I've put on a stone. Since March.

Am currently watching orange is the new black with a glass of rosé (naughty) and a punnet of cherries. #decadentpreggo #cherrieswerehalfprice #iloverealcherries 🍒🍒

Coppersulphate · 10/06/2017 21:12

Posted in a rush earlier as got called away.
Girlie, I hope DD recovers soon. It sounds nasty. Hope she is ok. Can you appeal against TC decision. If everything is the same why would they go down.
Need, great news about DPony. I bet DD is delighted. She sounds a lovely girl and I am sure she is a credit to you.
Lonely that cake is amazing. You are so talented at so many things. Yes, name change to very talented lady.
Meadow, good for you going to the shops on your own. See you can do it. We all believe in you. So go for it.
Bacon DGD I'd delighted with the cards. Laska, posted some to you today. Let me know if you want more as I now have zillions (and a large cc bill and loads of Sainsbury's stuff I don't really need)
DGS is now complaining at everyone. He is not allowed to go to the playground, soft play, swimming or nursery. In case he is knocked over. So I am suggesting the library, painting pottery and the cinema. What else do you do with an active 4 year old who thinks there is nothing the matter with him. Anyway, thankfully it's a good problem to have.

Cagliostro · 10/06/2017 22:32

MN was being weird earlier, at least on the mobile site. Lost various posts. Hmm

Amazing cake and cute pony! :) :)

ChristmasSeacow · 11/06/2017 01:13

I also lost a long post earlier, too annoyed to try and remember it all. In summary:

Girlie ouch to DD's face. And tax credits

Cag and Need perfectly fair to be proud of your kids and not inappropriate to share with us. They sound awesome and you can take some of the credit for good parenting

Lonely amazing cake! I also make cakes (though am slower than you by the soubds if it!) so I know how much work is involved. You are really good though I agree with above, it is hard to make money from it. I only do it as a Labour of love nowadays but used to earn pocket money when younger.

Spendy day - Ocado £70sih, haircut £90 ( Shock London prices - i only go 3x per year) and a bit of a top up shop locally for soft fruit and some crisps and dips as it turned out some friends were popping by this arvo. I made scones too.

Am still up working. Think this project might be the death of me - luckily they are paying me by the hour! I am really worried I will go into labour before it's finished though. I don't fancy trying to finish it in the first few days of newborn fog Hmm

allthebestplease · 11/06/2017 08:44

Love the cake.
Love the horse. Great letter re dd.

Out for day yesterday £6 at a church event. Then out for dinner but friends paid, which was nice.

£24 in Lidl, they are doing cheap cheese 🧀

Off to a kids party today.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 11/06/2017 10:06

Great pic of the pony Need he looks like such a character!

Thanks for all the TC sympathy and for dds face!! We had a fab day yesterday, Grease was amazing - loved it!! Only spent £9 I think on ice creams, the ice creams in the theatre were £4.50 each Shock I nearly fainted, such a rip off.

Dd was struggling a bit as her face was sore but it is looking much better today, the swelling has gone down and I think the grazes will heal up pretty quickly. Think she must be going through a clumsy phase as she she nearly fell up the stairs at the theatre, luckily I caught her otherwise would have face planted again Shock

Todays plan is to do a bit in the garden, going to buy some slate to finish off the front garden, Morrisons are selling 3 bags for £9 which is the cheapest I have seen it being sold for.

Taytocrisps · 11/06/2017 10:38

Thanks for the sympathy. DD is 12 need

Should be a nsd today.
