DH is one of those run-for-fun people. I don't understand it but I admire it nonetheless and he has amazing legs because of it

Coppersulphate · 25/06/2017 19:01

There was a hedgehog walking around my garden yesterday evening. My friend, from hedgehog conservation society brought me round some cat food to feed her and she ate it. We think there is a nest behind my next door neighbour's shed. I tried to post pics but they would not post Grrr!

Coppersulphate · 25/06/2017 19:02

Here they are

WreckTangled · 25/06/2017 19:04

Ah we had hedgehogs before we had a cat. That ones big copper!

CremeEggThief · 25/06/2017 19:14

Aw gorgeous, Copper. I ♡ hedgehogs!

needastrongone · 25/06/2017 19:21

Aww copper, lovely.

I'm avoiding the many teenagers that are in my house. They've all come for a BBQ for DD's birthday. They are all far more sensible than I remember being as a teen. I said they could have one small tin of cider each, they are all drinking soft drinks and gigglingGrin

Parents were aware btw. Smile

Hi all just catching up, sounds like you have all had pretty busy wends.

Watching Barry Gibbs at Glastonbury on the telly, he is so good!! Was talking to my mum earlier and we decided that we really do need to go next year, Glastonbury is only 40 mins from us.

So yesterday evening boycat managed to get hold off the hamster, was my fault as dd is really good at keeping her bedroom door shut but I had been putting clothes away and must have forgotten to shut it. Amazingly boycat didn't kill the poor thing but he was injured so we had a vet trip today, was £22 which included meds so not too bad. Just hope he doesn't get an infection or something now, am feeling suitably guilty!

Was lovely having the dog for the wend, she was very good and we had a fab day today playing and walking with her. Think am getting to the point where we will seriously consider getting a dog soon, dd is so desperate for one and I know she will take on the bulk of walking etc. Will keep an eye on some rescues I think and see what turns up... here is a pic of the dog.

Aaaah hedgehogs!!! 😍

MeadowHay · 25/06/2017 20:04

Hi everyone, not proeprly caught up and absolutely exhausted from a very busy weekend.

Yesterday was spendy:
£2.20 DH's bus fare to town
£2.50 smoothie
£1.60 two flapjacks for us to eat with our lunch
£22 dinner out for the two of us with a couple of friends
£?? money in the pub on drinks...maybe about £20? we only had a few each so doubt it would have been much more than that, but DH sorted them so idk.

Then today was just £6.30ish on some groceries that were urgently needed.

Have had a big nap but still not sure I have enough energy to make us a proper dinner (DH at work today so will just be clocking off now-ish), blehhh. Been worth it for a fun weekend but it is grim when it will probably take me another two days to recover my energy levels from it !! I think some other frugaleers here have issues with pacing/spoons/chronic fatigue etc so can probs empathise. Tomorrow just staying home to recover so will no doubt be chatty on here Grin.

Oh and happy eid everyone! Although I didn't really celebrate sadly as had my training course to do but spose I celebrated in the pub with friends last night instead Grin.

And finally, failed the SJT for the really long, time-consuming job application I sent out to be a Probation Support Officer. It's the third or fourth SJT I've done so far and the only one I've failed so I'm a bit puzzled by that Confused. I'm also really annoyed as the application took me AGES answering the competency questions which they didn't look at because that was the stage of sifting after the SJT, so I feel that they should get people to do the SJT first instead of having us waste so much time on the competency questions and then have them not even be looked at, fuming about it! Ah well. Job-hunting is shite really isn't it?

Hope everyone is well x

Coppersulphate · 25/06/2017 20:35

Oh, dear Meadow, sorry about the job application. What's an SJT?
Happy Eid.
Getting bitten in the garden looking to see if hedgehog is there.

ememem84 · 25/06/2017 21:02

Em, I might have got one... it might be amazing. I absolutely need nothing else though. Forever.

DD's big pressie was the ABH palette. Doesn't fill me with joy but she thinks all her birthdays and Christmas's have been rolled into one. Smile

ememem84 · 25/06/2017 21:30

need wow I might be jealous.

Checking in. Very looooong day! Exhausted. Going to bed. Hopefully catch up tomorrow.

AdoraBell · 25/06/2017 22:02

NSD

bought snacks yesterday £15- ish

northender · 25/06/2017 22:32

Aargh, lost track of the thread again! Life has just been crazy lately but the next week at least looks quieter so I resolve to post every day... We'll see!

Have now got everything I can listed on eBay to finish next Sunday. I haven't got any great hopes for it all but every little helps. Anything that doesn't sell will then be charity shopped. This all marks the end of our major declutter sparked by having to empty the loft for the building work las year. The lounge & conservatory are 95% cleared and it's lovely to be able to sit in them not surrounded by clutter.

Dh and I have spent most of the afternoon at the cricket club watching DS who was asked to play for the second team. He did so well both batting and bowling so feel v proud of him. Dd was earning yet more money scoring for the first team!

Will try to catch up a bit and then post again in the morning.

WreckTangled · 26/06/2017 07:33

Dh is taking me to work this morning and picking me up if the courtesy car isn't sorted. Luckily his boss doesn't mind as its a forty mile round trip...

needastrongone · 26/06/2017 07:47

Wreck, will you post your menu plan again? There was something on it that sounded lovely that I want to stealSmile

Going to try to have a frugal week. Remind me of that frugaleers.....

Oh sorry need ive just seen you post above!!

ememem84 · 26/06/2017 08:01

laksa...don't....I want new things!!!!

We watched Glastonbury last night. I remember last year being so so sad I couldn't get tickets for this year. Probably a good thing in hindsight. But it's been so long since I went (2014 was my last year I think - or whenever Dolly Parton played that was aces!!!)

And it'll be so long until I go again!!! Not sure dh will be happy taking the boy in 2019... maybe 2020 when he's almost 3....!!

Should be a fairly frugal week here too. Have bids on my eBay items already (only just over £3 but it's a start).

Have meals all planned out so should be ok.

SnugglySnerd · 26/06/2017 08:53

Right I've tried to catch up but can't remember everything! Exciting about the house, Creme it sounds ideal.

How are you doing, Seacow?

Only spent about 40 quid over the weekend on plants and compost plus we all had coffee and cakes out on Saturday.

Will try and keep up this week!

Coppersulphate · 26/06/2017 09:20

Excited here, stupidly because my shower screen is being delivered this morning, I hope. It had to be made to measure because of the slope of the ceiling. It will mark the end of the refit of the bathrooms. If it arrives😀😀
