So confused about who is who!

Stem ginger recipe: weigh the root ginger and measure the same in caster sugar. Peel and slice into 1cm coins. Cover with water then boil/simmer for about an hour until tender. Add sugar and a bit more water if necessary then boil until it has dissolved and gone syrupy. Then put in a sterilised jar.

£2 Red Nose Day contribution
£2.50 lunch

Loveabaconsandwich · 24/03/2017 19:50

Thanks for the artwork tips

Sorry, between names I have posted a lot today

ememem84 · 24/03/2017 19:56

Omg I'm so confused with the name changes. I was going to but can't be arsed.

Who had nuggets and waffles? That sounds ace.

Pizza is so good. Dh is a clever. 😀

SunnyLikeThursday · 24/03/2017 19:57

I just checked the energy monitor, and it's really conspicuously obvious where the money is going. I think we are heating the whole city as well as our house.

I know two people who got external insulation in the greendeal, and the only downside that they have reported is that they are now really worried about anybody walking near their house with heavy objects, because the houses are literally now clad in polystyrene. Any small bash leaves a permanent dent. Interesting!

My network railcard has expired so I'll have to pay full price for the train tomorrow. Unless I renew it... It costs £30 for the year and by not having tomorrow I'll have to pay an extra £10. I can't guarantee there'll be anyone manning the train station for me to renew it though and can I afford an extra £20? Hmm decisions decisions

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 24/03/2017 20:09

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone Smile
Christmas there's a couple of v well off people in the NCT group who are oblivious I think to anyone having money worries but a couple of the others have hopefully noticed that I'm trying to save a bit and have been talking about picnics and how much cheaper they'll be Grin
Roll on summer!

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/03/2017 20:12

God now i need to work out the name changes.
Bacon I've got you.
Sunny you too.
Lonely not yet but do stick around
Welcome strawberry

Back to catching up

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 24/03/2017 20:13

Confused so Confused and am too tired to work out who is who!!

I don't like all the change I like my username and couldn't give a flying duck if people work out who I am, have nothing to hide!!

Knackered after a busy week but some slightly good news is that all my moaning about working over my hours has paid off and I am going to get it paid!! That is very good news Smile that and the fact that its Friday!!

LSD £3 on Comic Relief stuff going on at dds school.

SunnyLikeThursday · 24/03/2017 20:25

That's wonderful Girlie. Excellent news.

Fluffy I wonder if you might possible give lessons on how to understand gas and electricity bills? I just tried to do uswitch, and in spite of reading a lot of stuff carefully, I was really unable to tell if the new contract would be cheaper. My energy monitor said it would be £500 cheaper.

Any tips that you have on understanding it all would really be very well received here.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/03/2017 20:29

Welcome Rosie
One not sure about you either.

PolkadotPony · 24/03/2017 20:35

Returned to work today, that went really well and I was happy to be back. Spends today were eBay postage (so not really my money) and £5 cash for the dc and comic relief at school things. And, erm, a crunchie for me 😍

I use marinated tofu cubes for stir fry.

Cagliostro · 24/03/2017 20:35

One does lots of running
Lonely has a shop specialising in 2 wheeled transport
Sunny has recently been test driving cars
Copper has just finished getting bathrooms done

Is that right everyone?

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/03/2017 20:35

Right i give up. I haven't got a fucking clue who you all are. Who had the spreadsheet pm me.

Collie stay.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/03/2017 20:37

X post thanks cag

SunnyLikeThursday · 24/03/2017 20:41

Cag my memory must be rubbish because I remember that someone had a bike shop but I can't remember who it was, and I can't remember who was getting bathrooms done, in spite of the fact that I consider these people to be practically extended family. What the heck.

It's a brilliant tool for restoring anonymity though isn't it? If even we are confused.

Collie I totally missed your post somehow, but please do stay.

I'm enjoying exploring omega-3 and 6 oils. They are tasty.

CremeEggThief · 24/03/2017 20:50

That's my who's who tally as well, Cag, so between us we must be right.

It sure was, Fluffy. I "see" Fergus around from time to time on Money Matters or Chat, but not Rogue. She was great and so kind and helpful to newcomers. There was also a poster who was brilliant at finding yellow stickered bargains in all different supermarkets. Do you remember her?

Copper, I love tofu in stirfry, but in the interests of economy, I usually buy Quorn or supermarket own brand chicken style chunks, as I can get 2 separate meals for the 2 of us out of a bag. They're also useful for curries, fajitas and casseroles. Personally, I'm not that keen on Quorn or soya mince. I like it for chilli, but for most other 'mince' dishes, I prefer lentils. I'll be interested in hearing about your greenhouse plans, now your bathrooms are finished.Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/03/2017 21:06

Ooh yes creme she shopped in waitrose too. I've got a co-op & someone got stabbed there last month so I'm not going there. They left the knife in so she didn't bleed to death. Which is nice.

What you do sunny is get an old bill and use their calculations for use but with the new tariffs unit rates & standing charges.

Then compare the difference.

SunnyLikeThursday · 24/03/2017 21:16

Yikes! I'll need to work up to that I think.

Your co-op sounds fab. You must live in a naice area like me. As the weather is getting warm the slightly scary people are coming out for walks around here. I had to do that weird runWalk thing today where I pretend to be walking and inconspicuous, but am actually going top speed to get away. Need an invisibility cloak really.

Coppersulphate · 24/03/2017 21:27

Cag, you are right about me. I have been trying to save for my bathrooms for ages,
Thanks for sorting lonely for me.
I had One sorted.
And sunny usually has a sciency name. And does graphs.
I love the bit about the polystyrene outside walls. I would really worry if I fell against someone's wall and dented it! I can just imagine the look on someone's face if that happened.😧
And" Charlie, come away from that wall, you'll dent it"
Sunny, of course I accept (and like you) as you are. I think you are really complex and you have a brilliant young son.

SunnyLikeThursday · 24/03/2017 21:36

Thanks copper. I love your new name, though I still have no idea who is who. I've never thought about being complex. That seems good. I will stick with that.

You just gave me the most fantastic idea about the walls. Wouldn't it be such fun to run splat into one and leave a bit whole body print like a snow angel in it? Might be a bit sore though. It must be so tempting just to plunge a finger tip right into the wall.

Coppersulphate · 24/03/2017 21:39

Thanks Creme. I will look into quorn chicken pieces.
I am saving up for a ridiculously expensive wooden green house with double doors (so I can get my wheelbarrow in). It's the old fashioned style that stands on bricks.
But I can't admit this to anyone IRL because they will think I have lost the plot (probably have but don't care) because all my windows leak ( well nearly all).
But I feel that I have worked and saved hard for the bathrooms and I want something that is just for me...a luxury.
My friend (who is having the bloody affair) thinks windows take priority
DP will think it is just a complete waste of money.
Or they will say....a greenhouse! What do you want a greenhouse for?
So I am saving for a greenhouse and I will lie to everyone IRL about it's cost.

Coppersulphate · 24/03/2017 21:42

Sunny, you could do "snow" /wall angels like a frieze along the bottom around the house and paint them all different bright colours.

CremeEggThief · 24/03/2017 21:45

Well, Copper, I'd like a greenhouse too- and I don't even like or do any gardening! They're just lovely. I have a real thing for small spaces. I absolutely love that "Shed of the Year" programme George Clarke does on C4.

Oh glad you remember her too, Fluffy. Sorry to hear about the stabbing in your Co-op though.Sad

ChristmasSeacow · 24/03/2017 22:14

Lonely now I definitely know who you are I can say for sure you don't overshare. Or prattle on.

I guess you (and many of us) might be identifiable to people who know us if they were to read this so if that is a concern then fair enough... but please don't think that you share too much for the liking of the rest of us. I like your posts. And I think I would like you in RL too (you wouldn't get me more than 200 yards on a bike but I am partial to a bit of yarny action 😉). So don't disappear! BrewCake

Coppersulphate · 24/03/2017 22:53

Lonely don't go and don't take any notice of random posters. They are not us. I have no idea who you are IRL but I wish you could do something with my bike. I have a beautiful ladies triathlon bike (from a previous resistance I think). It is as light as a feather and I am now too scared to ride it where I now live....hilly very narrow, bendy roads with fast car drivers. Wish I was as brave as you clearly are.
Stay here, we need you here and, also, we like having you.
