Sorry, but I I've changed back to who I am. This is me, changing my username ain't gonna make much difference, I don't feel 'me' not being annoying, honest and straightforward need. And it's confusing for others.

And I am really pissed. Been out for a curry and lots of wine so I'll post again tomorrow xx

needastrongone · 24/03/2017 23:59

Too pissed to even spell but think my username is okay now!!! SmileGrin

SunnyLikeThursday · 25/03/2017 05:20

I love Greenhouses too. I think a wooden one with a dwarf wall sounds wonderful. Smile

WreckTangled · 25/03/2017 06:35

Haha need! Hope your head is ok today Wink

Off to London today (I'll be in the passport office at 10 if anyone wants to out me Wink).

Today will be spendy holiday shopping in Oxford street but hopefully mainly dh's money.

mammymammyIRL · 25/03/2017 06:40

Need hope head isn't too bad this morning!

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/03/2017 06:45

Happy hang over need Grin

Shopping today. Mother's day gift delivery, footy.

ememem84 · 25/03/2017 07:51

I think I've worked everyone out.

Have just spent £18 on feelunique.com on Argan oil for my hair (via top cashback plus I get a free gift) I have thick wavy hair which has a tendency to frizz. And ran out of my frizz ease staple. 😭 On the "ashamed of beauty hoard" thread this oil was recommended to me. It's pricey but reading the reviews I'd have to buy it about once a year. And equals about the same price as 3/4 frizz eases. So long term saving and saving waste. And FU also have depot here still so hopefully free postage because someone will just pop it round or I can collect. Smile

Riding lesson today. Then a house viewing. I'm excited by this one. It's got a massive garden (or at least it looks huge in the pictures!).

After that we're spending the weekend packing up unnecessary things here as taking them to store in my parents loft (Christmas decs etc) and I may have another wardrobe rummage. when we move the less I have to pack the better (this was my reasoning earlier in the week when I smashed two cups a plate and a glass....by accident)

needastrongone · 25/03/2017 08:03

Grin Ha. Sorry about last night! I feel fine, I woke up about 6am. I did make sure I ate before I started drinking and stuck to red wine (unlike the other week on both counts........) so I'm okay today.

Had a lovely night with a super bunch of people. They've made me feel truly welcome since I joined and they are already an important part of my life. Think I spent about £35.

Seacow I look more like your second picture today!

Hope the wait at the passport office isn't too bad wrecked

Hi Rosie. The better weather is nearly here hopefully and cheaper play dates can be arranged. The coffee and cakes do add up don't they? Would adding up for a couple of weeks or a month the total of all the little boredom spends help at all?

I don't think we've got much spending planned today. I've already got washing on the line and another in the machine. Plan on doing some work on the horsebox. I've got some chicken out for tea but not sure whether I will make a thai curry or tray bake type dish yet.

SnugglySnerd · 25/03/2017 08:05

Sounds like a good night, Need, hope you are ok this morning!

Em I'm clearing out too. Have got rid of all my maternity clothes except the newer and better quality ones which I might sell. I would happily offer them to you but I think you are much more stylish than me!

As I'm getting back into my old clothes I'm realising that I don't like a lot of them and they are gradually being filtered into the charity shop bag. I'll have nothing left soon! I don't think any of my clothes are worth selling they were all cheap to start with.

ememem84 · 25/03/2017 08:05

need good work on the hangover. Haha!

Dh has just brought me a croissant. And some smoothie. And I can hear him cleaning the kitchen he's a changed dh

gorgeous day here. Blue skies sunshine. Probably won't need a coat for riding. Yay!!

ememem84 · 25/03/2017 08:09

snuggly where did you get your mat clothes from? Favourite places?

I'm looking at buying "replacements" for my fave non preg clothes (have two pairs of mat skinnies two jersey skirts which I could wear whevener as they don't look maternity at all from asos) and have had a look at H&M and have found a denim shirt. I live in mine currently and at some point it's not going to fit at all. H&M's is cute and £20 (waaaaaay pricier than my primark special one was (£5!)) only trouble is H&M don't deliver here. But dm is in the uk next week for a week so I could order and have it sent to her to bring back.

ememem84 · 25/03/2017 08:12

Sorry snuggly meant to say could you bundle some of your old clothes and sell in batches? I had a plethora (right word...?! *) of black white and grey tshirts from H&M primary new Look which I sold in a bundle on eBay £10 for about 15 tshirts/tops.

*sometimes I use big words. Sometimes I get these words wrong. I like using big words it makes me feel very photosynthesis. Wink

needastrongone · 25/03/2017 08:21

Grin Em. You make me smile.

Em I've got a few serums I can chuck your way if you like. Work can cover postage. They are from beauty boxes and advent calendars but I have one I like and stick with it. Pm me if you ever want. x

allthebestplease · 25/03/2017 08:30

em that was very perspicacious if you. Smile
Lovely sunny day here. We have a birthday party to go to later.
Yesterday I got 12 bottles of wine from M&S as they had 25% off, which made them a bargain.
I went to Ikea in the week as needed a wardrobe (only had a rail since moving house), well the pax one was going to cost £300.
That night I looked on gumtree and found one for £50 with the drawers etc. So happy.
wreck you asked about the deodorant (I think) its a spray, very light. Its really good. Font shave before hand though, ouch.
I bought from Ikea, a cafeteria, 2 plates and a 70p rug. I'm trying not to impulse/frivolously buy. I'm really trying - wish me luck 😉

LonelyOversharer · 25/03/2017 08:45

Right, I have pulled myself together, and will name change back soon. Sorry for being a drip.

Beautiful blue skies here too, but so cold just yet. Work today, will pop out for a mothers day gift (always get mum some anual plants, usually fushia). And will go for a bike ride too.

Hopefully the garden will dry out a bit and I'll be able to put up my last little wall and get the living willow planted (its started to grow) tomorrow/monday.

Have cash in my purse to last the month out. I don't want to touch my current account again spend wise (still got dd's etc to come out) until the month rolls. Might go about £100 into my overdraft - for balance, in december it was £1500. So whoever reads this and judges me, piss off! as this lovely lot of frugaleers has helped me to save back about £1400 so far this year without falling behind on anything.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 25/03/2017 08:48

Need you've outlined my plan perfectly, I'm trying to avoid all the little spends I don't need in the hope that I can cover some of the group outings. Fingers crossed it'll balance out a bit.
We should hopefully get a low-ish spend day here as we're planning on taking DS for a walk round a local park and then going for some lunch with discount vouchers. I would say we'll take a picnic but we've not got anything in the house to make one and we'd probably spend similar amounts on buying things for it than having lunch in the cafe Hmm
All I think your Ikea shop showed some proper restraint! We went for lunch in their cafe in the week and had a wander round after and I had to almost tie my hands to the pushchair to stop myself from picking things up Blush

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/03/2017 09:09

Rosie There's probably someone else in the group wishing for the spending to stop too.

I've been looking at perfect fit pleated blinds for the utility to stop the cat getting hot in the summer & their coming out at £130!.

Thinking of using black thick card and strong tin foil instead with some double sided tape as a stop gap.

Cagliostro · 25/03/2017 09:21

Is it just me who had to look up perspicacious? Every day a home school day :o

I'm glad you're staying Lonely and also Collie do stick around! We missed you.

So... Yankee candles. Are they worth it? I have a routine of lighting a scented candle in the corner before/when I have pupils here. But I've got cheapie ikea/wilko ones and while they smell nice if you stick your nose in them (errrm not while lit), I don't think they make much difference at all really and they feel all artificial and plasticky, apart from one little one I was given for my birthday, can't work out the brand but it's a much stronger smell and harder wax if that makes sense. So when they've run out I was thinking of getting a 'proper' one. But I've never spent £18 on a candle in my life. Should I? Is a cheap candle one of those false economy things? Yankees look like they'll last a lot longer.

OP posts:
ememem84 · 25/03/2017 09:38

cag no...you're not the only one! I had to too!

I think it depends which smell. I love the Yankee lavender ones. And the linen ones. And the lemoney ones. But a colleague bought a passion fruit mojito flavour one the other day and it smelled so good.

They do last ages. (And if you get the huge ones you can use the jars after)

I have popped my Yankee ones in the cupboard for now though as was gifted a couple of super nice jo Malone ones for Christmas. (Being all materialistic and shallow they look much nicer in my living room and smell much much nicer than Yankee but at about £35 a pop I'll gratefully accept as gifts/buy myself when I have a gift card...)

SunnyLikeThursday · 25/03/2017 09:53

Is everybody collecting up their pound coins to give to the bank before the changeover to new ones? The current ones cease to be legal currency in October apparently, so our change jars need to be raided.

WreckTangled · 25/03/2017 10:12

Just in the security queue. Had two hash browns from macdonalds.

ememem84 · 25/03/2017 10:15

wreck good luck! Yummmm McDonald's hash browns. Mmmmmmmm

Coppersulphate · 25/03/2017 10:21

Yay, Lonely, good for you. We like you as you are and well done on getting the overdraft down.
If you go to IKEA you need one of those personal guide tape machines like they have in some museums. It should say things like " put it down, you don't need it" , or " if you buy that you'll regret it when you get home" and things like that.
Need, I do not know how you do it. Not satisfied with no hangover you get up and do two lots of laundry....and hang it out. Amazing.
Wreck, good luck at the passport office, and Em with the house.

WreckTangled · 25/03/2017 10:29

All done! Can collect in four hours

needastrongone · 25/03/2017 10:33

cag, I am also a shallow and vacuous individual who knows a thing or two about candlesSmile.

Not a massive fan of Yankee personally, if you want a brand in the same price range Wood Wick is good.

If you want to take a chance on a cheapie though, go to Home Bargains or similar and pick up a Glade one. They are really decent for the cost. I like the vanilla one.
