Good luck Meadow

Ipsomatic · 21/03/2017 20:36

knitting yes I think ordinary stuff will do. It seems as though sunflower oil has one sort of essential fatty acid and oil seed rape has the other so I've to have both, or preferable walnut oil.

What I actually did was come home and gleefully stuff three packets of salt 'n' shake crisps down my neck and felt instantly much better.

I can't believe I've been using vanishingly tiny amounts of olive oil in cooking for health reasons all this time, when I should have been wolfing crisps to get my healthy fats. D'oh.

Thanks need. It's all pottering along here. I know it's probably frustrating to listen too, but what I mostly needed was about 3 years of sleep and having the company of the frugaleers to keep me busy while my tired body recovers has really been a Godsend.

At least these days I have a healthy respect for Mums and know that some of them are doing the work of ten men, and it's good that someone should know that.

Not an NSD here by any means, but progress has been made.

Brightermornings · 21/03/2017 20:53

Mammy 100 burpees that's amazing I bow down to you.
I hate burpees !

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 21/03/2017 20:54

Can someone please confirm that clotted cream is a good fat. Only we have just consumed 3/4 of a tub on scones with jam!

This is also a balanced healthy meal when teamed with a cup of coffee, right? but I suspect better than the macdonalds I passed on

Cagliostro · 21/03/2017 21:04

Ipso firstly it's not frustrating, we are all here to talk and listen and you should feel comfortable to talk about what's going on with you. Thanks

Also re: you cutting down on oil, I had done the same with salt. Didn't have it in the house so never cooked with it, un/low-salted versions of everything. Listening to all the advice about salt limits etc. Got to the specialist who diagnosed me with POTS and he asked how much salt I ate. I told him and he looked horrified and basically said the polite version of OMG get some more salt in your diet you twat :o it's been so hard to get used to though, I'd been so determined to keep levels down that I became really intolerant to salt used in meals. I only really like salty tastes in crisps and that kind of thing. I still struggle now TBH. But I have to keep salt intake up along with drinking lots of water (about 50% more than average because of my condition). Mind you the first thing I did when he told me was gleefully switch back to salted butter, which I had missed like crazy!

Avocado is my fave fatty acid food. Le yum.

Knitting It sounds excellent. The dieticians are trying to tell us just now that they were wrong about all that low fat rubbish, because it just drove people to eat wheat and sugar instead. Apparently fat is cool again. also it sound fabulous

Ipsomatic · 21/03/2017 21:46

Cag Thanks for the encouragement. I appreciate it. Smile

Interestingly I have the same thing with salt. It's drummed into us so much to reduce salt, and I used to jog along nicely at 4g a day, but just recently I had gone off it entirely. No idea why. The dietician didn't know either. I'm hoping once I've got the omega oils sorted out that my taste for salt may come back.

I reckon healthy eating propaganda has a lot to answer for. Smile

I just blew £30 on a really spectacular plant that looks like a firework as a little treat for having made progress. I looks like this:

Bought from www.echiumworld.co.uk/, in case anyone else is feeling like a splurge.

mammymammyIRL · 21/03/2017 22:02

Brighter I hate burpees too & am currently in the bath trying to soothe an inflamed muscle inside my left hip which wasn't helped by the burpees & the water not as hot as I'd like Sad

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 21/03/2017 22:13

WTF is a burpee? In my mind you are all burping away furiously Grin

September is a fab time to have a baby.

mammymammyIRL · 21/03/2017 22:23

I didn't really know what they were until two weeks ago

Tryingtosaveup · 21/03/2017 23:42

Just catching up again. Caught up last night at 1am but was too tired to post. Will catch up properly tomorrow.

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 21/03/2017 23:49

mammy Shock you did 100 of those bastarding things! My body does not consent to push ups of any kind! I could manage maybe 10 of the beginner ones. Might try later. Or maybe not. I bet need can do loads as well!

Right, shall challenge myself to do my 10k steps each day, plus 10 beginner burp things. You lot are pretty hard core! I only managed 11 days of beginner shred before I packed it in!

Yet weirdly I still moan about being tubby...

Ipsomatic · 22/03/2017 00:10

knitting You seem fine as you are. I say stay still and keep your knees for a few more years.
Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 22/03/2017 06:06

100 burpies. Well done mammy.

mammymammyIRL · 22/03/2017 06:17

Knitting there's nothing beginner about the shred you know! I'm definitely not hardcore just giving these 4 weeks my all!

ememem84 · 22/03/2017 07:09

No mammy 100 burpees is pretty hardcore!!

Beeneatingburnttoast · 22/03/2017 07:09

Wet and chilly here this morning. Resisting buying a hot drink Halo

Should be LSD- may just need to buy stamps to post off a job application tomorrow

You all sound far to energetic to me. More of a tea and cake girl when I have spare time! Although I must dig out my fitness dvds as they aren't too bad. I'm so uncoordinated I prefer to exercise alone and I can look daft by myself

Beeneatingburnttoast · 22/03/2017 07:12

Good luck today meadow

Welcome Phoenix

Needastrongone · 22/03/2017 07:13

100 burpees is awesome!

My PT makes me do 10 burpees holding onto a tyre then jumping up and punching a punch bag, then burpees then punch bag etc.

Funnily enough I was out last night, so didn't post doing Boot Camp, which involved burpees.... They are not my favourite at all but very effective.

I prefer mountain climber, Google that!

Spends today will be top up fruit, I can't ever get over how much fruit we eat here.

ememem84 · 22/03/2017 07:47

Yesterday's spends included £4.49 on a m&s sandwich and crisps and £11 on cake for the office from baby to thank them all for their kind words. We're having a "work baby" apparently. According to some were all in this together. Most are parents which is nice so tonnes of advice. Wink I said that if we're all in it together they can get fat with me. Haha! Hence the cake!!

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 22/03/2017 08:02

Ok, properly snowing here this morning! Better get up as we will have to leave early. So glad dd1 is stayed at my mums last night as her mini bus to school goes further into the wild before it turns for school.

I have lost 0.9lb this week. I want to lose a stone by the middle of may, so may need to 1. get on the turbo, 2. dig out the silly shred dvd 3. eat less rubbish, or just eat less. Will need to buy cat litter today as my old boy is unimpressed with outside, and keeps meowling in the bathroom (his preferred 'accident' spot) - he has always been an outside cat.

Stay safe today, especially us up north if you have the snow.

Frugaleers Marching on!
CremeEggThief · 22/03/2017 08:11

That is proper snow, Knitting. None in my area and Durham City yet, as we've had heavy rain; but I've seen some photos of other parts of County Durham with a lot.

10 burphees is hard core, IMO, let alone 100. Anything like that is just far too much for me, even without CFS.

WreckTangled · 22/03/2017 08:42

Wow knitting. Just wet and miserable here and I have no plans. Second lot of heaters going in today. I've run out of coffee too 😭

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/03/2017 08:52

Me too toast.
