I spend so much when I'm unhappy. I won't this time, obviously, but that has been most of the reason why I got debt in the first place. I can't even walk my doggy to feel better, I can't really walk at the moment.

I think I need a focus for tomorrow, I'll check my assignment deadlines.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 12/03/2017 19:30

Oh Polka Brew and Cake he doesn't sound like much of a bf, i'm long term singleton as can't deal with men being a PITA! And YY to money and emotions being intwined, allow yourself some small treats.

My NSD just went out the back door Blush spent £35 on Amazon, oops! Have bought some specialist diabetic cat food to try my cat on, am thinking if it helps would be cheaper than insulin! Also got a new hot water bottle as mine started leaking and got dd a dvd as she very kindly massaged my sore neck! For an 11yo she is really good at massages Grin

Am aiming for tomos to be a NSD.

PolkadotPony · 12/03/2017 19:33

He's a great boyfriend, honestly. Just when things are emotionally hard, he goes right in his man cave. He's loyal, kind, considerate and very loving, supportive, he's great. Just the silence is hard for me, and again I've had to reach out to talk when I don't really want to be that person again. We will see.

ememem84 · 12/03/2017 19:39

polka don't worry about the emotions. We all need to do it occasionally.

X

ChristmasSeacow · 12/03/2017 19:43

Hello, I'm still here.... been quite ill with this cold and cough this week and now think I may have a sinus infection (actually hoping I do, otherwise it's real toothache and I'm going to need a dentist asap!). The last few days have been a real struggle, I have been reading but going to bed early so not having my nice slow evenings and not posting much.

Will have a quick flick back and be back later.

Sorry you are feeling down Polka but I gather it's been quite a big week for you getting hold of the money situation and telling your parents. You are bound to go through lots of emotions with such a big change, especially knowing it will have a big impact on your life for quite a while yet. But you've done a good thing grasping the nettle and you will recover financially. And you will be much better off in the future if you can stay in this groove. Hand on in there and don't be too hard on yourself! Flowers

PolkadotPony · 12/03/2017 19:47

Thank you so much ladies.

I'm definitely sticking to the financial plan, I'll reap the rewards, it's just such a change and a lot of emotion. I feel a little better I've got this out.

MeadowHay · 12/03/2017 20:29

Polka Hope you get stuff sorted out with BF one way or another and hope you feel better soon Flowers Brew. I joined these threads fairly recently, and I have mental health problems, and all the ladies here have been so supportive and kind to me. So don't worry about posting if you are sad or having a hard time because we are all here to support each other. Smile

SnugglySnerd · 12/03/2017 20:36

Polka sorry to hear you are having a rough time, we never mind emotions here and everyone is lovely and supportive.

Hope you feel better soon, Seacow.

ememem84 · 12/03/2017 21:31

Went for a walk today on the beach with ddad and we stopped for hot chocokates (he paid). Yay!!

Have just finished dancing about the house like a crazy. iPod on loud headphones in and danced. Like I've never danced before.

I feel tired but really happy now. May have also done some singing along too. Catface just looked on in horror.

Tryingtosaveup · 12/03/2017 21:49

Em, I can just imagine you dancing. It's the sort of thing you can only do when alone and undisturbed. Might as well do it now because little bump will be big bump in a few months and you may not feel like dancing.
Polka, we may not be an " emotion " thread but we are definitely a supportive thread and we're very good at chatting. You say whatever you want. We are all listening and are never judgemental. You may not think so, but I think you are doing great. It must have taken a lot of courage to tell your parents, but you have done it.
You are getting everything sorted and you DCs are happy. Go easy on yourself and moan on here all you like.

ememem84 · 12/03/2017 22:01

trying I rediscovered some favourite classic songs. The neighbours probably won't be so happy. Tonight's songs included: Jolene, Gloria, Summer of 69, mr bombastic, stuff by the spice girls, 5ive, and a bit of Tina.
I may or may not have also belted out total eclipse of the heart. Confused

I'm now in bed listening to some Pete Murray. Nice and chilled out. Smile and am trying to finish my days water quota. I haven't been drinking enough recently so have been trying to force myself to drink water.

blueteapot · 12/03/2017 22:51

Flowers polka

Em, please please tell me slam dunk da funk was one of the 5ive songs Grin

blueteapot · 12/03/2017 22:53

NSD although I have done an asda shop to be delivered tomorrow. Had a £10 off voucher given by DM. Normally dont use asda much so will see how it goes.

Cagliostro · 12/03/2017 23:13

NOOOOO blue when the lights go out was far superior to slam dunk! :o

Some of my books sold yay!

ChristmasSeacow · 12/03/2017 23:24

What is the secret to selling books on WeBuyBooks? I idly just scanned 4 books with the app (a crime fiction hardback, a rick stein cook book, a biochem text book and a recent photo book) and they only wanted the first one - and for just 10p! For that I would rather donate to oxfam.

What kinds of things have you guys had luck with?

ChristmasSeacow · 12/03/2017 23:32

I do love a good sesh with the power ballads when doing housework. DH and DS do not appreciate my talents though so I prefer to do it when they are out.

I've had a few notable spends in the last few days- £35 on boxes to stash DHs music magazines in the attic (Project Declutter) and Ocado for about £105. Plus a bit of top-up stuff (flowers for MIL, who we visited today, and milk before the online shop came). Today was an NSD though - went to PILs for lunch.

Tired now, hope to catch up a bit more over the next day or two. Am banished to the spare room so I can cough all night!

Cagliostro · 12/03/2017 23:32

It wouldn't accept something I tried either! I've started a separate thread (on this board) to discuss this sort of thing too. Oddly with my Innocent Cookbook ziffit angrily told me 'sorry only one copy of this per order' eh?!

I'm not sure if it'll add up to much, if it's really that little then I may not bother, but some of it is nice non fiction in fairly decent nick so hopefully it'll be a few quid for little effort. But I'll give everything a go on FB first, I've made over a tenner tonight on just a few kids' books. I'd do ebay if I wasn't so worried about dodgy buyers, the horror stories just put me off and I'm such a ridiculously anxious person that it won't be worth the stress for me (have they received it, is it good enough, are they going to complain...)

How are you feeling tonight anyway seacow? Thanks

ChristmasSeacow · 13/03/2017 05:24

I'm a bit scared of eBay too Cag! I will check out your other thread. Notvhad much luck selling books on Facebook locally (I tried with a couple of gardening and cook books recently) - baby stuff seems to go well round here so I shall flog all of that when I am done! Not sure what else is worth trying to sell TBH.

I am still a bit rough, thanks for asking. I seem to get 4 hrs sleep each night before waking up for a drink /loo and then coughing and needing to sip water for the rest of the night. It's been a week now, I am quite bored of it! I am sure I am not the only one awake in the middle of the night though (waves to Snuggly - btw - soup? In your first week?!)

Trying to stay off internet shopping. Maybe I will look at some essentials like baby monitors (our previous one broke).

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/03/2017 06:50

If you get that message from ziffit your scanner has been sensitive. Check your basket to see if it's in if not rescan and it should work. Hopefully.

Nsd planned

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/03/2017 06:51

I love a good sing, especially in the car. Total eclipse yy.

WreckTangled · 13/03/2017 06:58

Em I love jolene!!

Have to go food shopping today boring. Got a friend coming round this morning though so I'm going to make pancakes.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/03/2017 07:05

Text books or technical manuals go well on book selling apps but they have to be the latest edition.

SnugglySnerd · 13/03/2017 07:06

Total Eclipse of the Heart - best song ever for belting out in private! DD1 also likes I Need a Hero. Sadly DH is not a Bonnie fan so we dance to it when he is out!

Yes, Seacow, I was up, most of the night on fact. We seem to have babies who take it in turns to have trapped wind.

DH off to Sainsbury's for a few bits this morning. I'm finally going to have some brie for lunch, it's been a long wait!

ememem84 · 13/03/2017 07:11

blue cag 5ive songs were indeed slam dunk da funk, when the lights go out, and keep on moving. I saw them at V festival a few years ago. Best time ever!!!

seacow I love a good power ballad. This morning I'm going to hoover and clean bathrooms. Power ballads a go go.

A while ago it all went a bit "I want to break free" here. I had to break a new pair of heels in so did hoovering in them....

2 of my eBay items sold. The rest have been relisted. So must go to post office today/tomorrow to post.

ememem84 · 13/03/2017 07:12

snuggly enjoy the Brie!!!!
