I like that coat. A good buy there from the charity shop. I can't see any sign of a flabby stomach in it! You look great.

Posted that quickly as the phone started ringing. Was DM with DSis on loud speaker. DSis has suggested asking DDad to pay towards the meal... Told her I didn't feel right about that, especially since he's not coming!!! Still no word from DP. DSis has even insisted that DM will come get me, so if DP doesn't want to go I still can, and DM offered at the end to put £5 towards each of us. I could manage with my crutches without DP to be fair, I've been out with just MIL before... Why don't I have enough of a back bone to just say 'no I don't feel up to it today'.

CathodeRayTube · 01/02/2017 17:17

Gosh that's hard to have that with your Mum. I've been lucky with my parents. My Mum has always been great, and though my Dad was very busy while working, he is great and very involved now, and we get on well. It must be hard to constantly be trying to make a relationship with a parent work. Flowers

Brightermornings · 01/02/2017 17:17

Right guys I need a kick up the bum. I manage my own workload at work so if I need to do overtime which I'm paid extra for I can decide how much and when. Obviously I can't do hours and hours but you know what I mean.
Currently I have enough work to do extra hours. Plan is to go in early. But can I get my lazy ass out of bed no it's not happening.
Please shout at me I need help!!

AdoraBell · 01/02/2017 17:27

OI! Brighter GET UP. There you go, did that help? Grin

NSD other than the Sainsbo's delivery, DD got her ice-cream refunded due to damaged packaging so she's super pleased.

WreckTangled · 01/02/2017 17:31

Brighter you're a grown woman now get your arse out of bed and stop acting like a smelly teenager Wink on a serious note though you just have to get straight up, try putting your alarm somewhere where you have to get out of bed to turn it off.

lemon turn off your phone and turn off all the lights Grin

WreckCat is having a chilled day

CathodeRayTube · 01/02/2017 17:42

Well dh did quite well bless 'im. They are back now and settling in. Smile

Lemon12345 · 01/02/2017 17:45

Wreck I hope they are just late getting back to you. But if not then it's their loss and it's always experience for you. They should atleast be able to give you feedback for the next thing that comes along.

Fluffy thanks for the suggestion. I will have a look and see what I can find.

Cath it's not the worse thing out there, and I know many many people have it much worse than I do. She's never hit us or anything physical. But it's still not the relationship I've always wanted. Luckily DP's DM is bloody wonderful. I'm insisting that I get her in the divorce (not that we are actually married).

I'm a complete wuss when it comes to my family. DM didn't want to come get me, and DP has work to do so can't take me, so it fixed itself. Yet I feel shitty about it.

Anyway enough of that nonsense.

Brighter would it be easier to work later? I struggle with getting up earlier too, hate anything messing with my sleep cycle. I'd suggest for a 2 days (assuming it can wait) to set an alarm and try be awake 30 mins or so earlier (each day), read a book, play on your phone... whatever. Adjust your sleep cycle then on 3rd day go in an hour early, 4th day 1 1/2 etc. I find little steps much easier. Otherwise I can't function. Even then 30 mins is a big step for me, but I hear 'normal' people can usually manage it.

Wreck I need that cat! What a fluff ball.

Needastrongone · 01/02/2017 17:59

Frugal tea of whatever leftover vegggies were needed to be used in the fridge (yellow pepper, mange tout, broccoli, bit of asparagus). Made a tomato pasta sauce, lots of fresh basil, garlic. Added some grilled cooked sausage. Clears out the fridge for a delivery in the morning.

Cagliostro · 01/02/2017 18:23

Lemon sorry your mum is so awful to you :( Thanks

Nice snacky dinner of fried egg, avocado and salad (undressed as the dressing had gone manky - fail). I may need goat's cheese later though. Probably sooner rather than later!

Nice day today and some of my pocket money spends arrived, bit disappointed in the Japanese one though as it covers a lot less ground than I thought. My own fault for not researching it more (normally I am really thorough - like, obsessively so (ASD thing :)) - and have separate wishlists for those that I definitely want and those that need looking into... :o) but I saw it so close to bidding ending that I just thought OOOH JAPANESE! :o Still, it was £6.29 delivered, so not a huge waste, and we will use it to master the content and then either give away or see if there's some way we can adapt it to add more symbols etc or even use the cards for maths games. Waste not want not and all that.

Aaaaargh I have to go get DD from Brownies. Rain. Cold. Blah.

Hi all been a work day and managed a NSD so thats good.

Em I had terrible all day nausea with dd, found nothing that helped really but it did vanish like magic after 12 weeks.

I'm fed up as just checked my online account and my council tax has gone out and my water bill has stayed the same even thought they said it would go down.

Another crap month then Sad

Dinner was a disaster, had got a salmon in a bag thingy but it was really grim. The cats seem to like it though Wink

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/02/2017 18:44

Email the water boards CEO.

Their opening up the water market soon. We'll all be able to take our custom elsewhere.

Wildernesstips · 01/02/2017 19:00

I fall off the thread for a few days and you're 9 pages in and Em's got one in the oven - huge congratulations!

Small spends every day this week on lunch as pretty disorganised (which is unlike me).

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 01/02/2017 19:01

lemon have you tried Dunelm for sheets? I've got deep fitted sheets from them in the past, and won't have paid much. Flowers for having a hard time with your mum, your sis seemed overkeen on seeing you, is she having a hard time too? Am super lucky with my parents, they are amazing ... my sister otoh is very hard work and is prone to terrible tantrums.

wreck is wreckcat a Maine Coon? We long for one, but will not subject Clivecat to a 'pal' he doesn't want! I have inflicted 4 babies, 2 great danes (one at a time many years ago) and two very bouncy dogs on him, he has perfected the eye roll.

Managed 12 miles on my winter bike. Am unfit again. This will improve with effort (and free)!

nsd so far.

WreckTangled · 01/02/2017 19:04

knitting he's a Birman but the vet reckons he has some maine coon in him. Is it too early to go to bed?

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 01/02/2017 19:04

Oh, and the pheasants weren't right. Beautiful but very dry. Will put them in a pie with some bacon tomorrow, and a thick sauce. So it was thunderbirds turkey shapes for tea instead! Not a bit left, I bet they would have left the phessies why do I bother

IdStillRatherBeKnitting · 01/02/2017 19:06

wreck no, am in bed! Dp has brought strong coffee 'to perk you up' this translates to 'please don't fall asleep while the kids are all being crazy and leave me to sort it out'.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/02/2017 19:07

£14 in the co-op. Got the £5 deal thing which was ok for a quick tea. There are leftovers for another few meals.

Lemon, easy to say but don't feel crap. Relax now and maybe go next time when it's better for you.

Em, I third need. You will get loads of advice. Do what it takes to get you through and trust your instincts.

Ah girlie that's rubbish. I would email the water people too.

Nice coat. My 2x dbro keep their pumps on a belt. Easier for men though.

Beeneatingburnttoast · 01/02/2017 19:10

Had a bad day.

A woman shouted at me on the train "you keep pushing me, it won't get you off the train any quicker." I had literally only been out of my seat for about 5 seconds Confused

I've had a headache pain behind my eyes so got an appointment at a well known high street opticians as I coukdn't get one at my normal one. It was so busy and felt like I was being hearded like cattle. I needed new glasses but as it was so busy and taking off my glasses to try on new glasses meant I couldn't see. Gave up and just paid for the sight test. I couldn't spend £200 odd on glasses that I couldn't work out if I liked. Still have a headache and can't go to normal opticians to choose new glasses until Saturday when I will wear contacts so I can see Sad

My manager said he wouldn't support either a formal or informal working from home once a week or every other week. Maybe just every now and then. Better than nothing but feels unfair (very long back story to how I got to doing this job!)

I tried not to cry on the train home. Cried driving home

Got an unexpected plumbers bill for £900 yesterday

WreckTangled · 01/02/2017 19:15

life if I kept it on my trousers it would be a nightmare every time I needed a wee Grin I suppose it works out quite well that women wear and bra and for men it doesn't matter as they keep their trousers on when they wee... I have a leg strap I use if I'm wearing a tight dress (not often!)

WreckTangled · 01/02/2017 19:16

Oh Been sorry you've had such a shit day Flowers

Ffs em Beyoncé is trying to steal your thunder Hmm

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/02/2017 19:24

Always knew Beyoncé was an attention seeker.

been I'd have cried too after all that.

Knitting Had he hung those birds properly?

I had a patient whose cat ate a pheasant hanging in the pantry. She went to cook it and found he'd hollowed it out.

ememem84 · 01/02/2017 19:28

Ffs beyonce

Beeneatingburnttoast · 01/02/2017 19:28

lemon glad you didn't end up having to go!

I'm not normally a crier, think I'd just got overwhelmed!

em your news is better than Beyoncé!

Brightermornings · 01/02/2017 19:43

Thanks for your erm support Smile. I think I'm going to move my alarm clock. I could work late but I do exercise classes 3 nights a week and they start at 6.

Lemon tk max is good for bedding.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/02/2017 19:49
